  • (VANITY) Guitar Hero III or Rock Band for the PS3?

    11/06/2007 6:40:38 AM PST · by nerdwithamachinegun · 14 replies · 31+ views
Either will rob my PS3 of infrequent Folding@Home time but which one would you prefer and why? I'm leaning toward Rock Band due to multi-instrument co-op play as well as co-op over the internet. Backward compatibility isn't a concern as I don't own the previous 2.5 games. Each playlist has a few awful songs but both are pretty good. The downloadable content for each is still mostly a mystery so it's not really a factor to me. Real guitar is out of the question due to my short stubby fingers.

This is only my second post. I apologize for any mistsakes with the topics, keywords or any other ancillary info. If this is more appropriately posted in some other forum I apologize for posting it here. Today the II MEF PAO asked for folks on Camp Fallujah to have dinner with radio personalities and reporters from around the US. Two places that caught my attention were Kansas City, Missouri and Washington D.C. I was born in the former and live near the latter. Normally I would not care to have any interaction with any reporters but given the controlled environment...
  • (VANITY) Christmas dinner at the CPA Palace in Baghdad

I took a few snaps at dinner this evening. This is nothing in depth or special. I can't say enough about how hard the Pakistani KBR employees work to keep our dining facility clean and well organized. They do their best to prepare the food they have as nicely as possible. The food just sucks sometimes but it seems avoidable when they don't have decent stuff to work with at times. It certainly beats going hungry or eating MREs all the time. Some folks here don't treat them very nicely. It seems to be directly proportional to how self-important they...

Well, I was going to get up early for breakfast this morning but I had forgot to set my alarm. 6:15 rolls around and what do I hear? Two rocket strikes fairly close to my quarters. I guess it will be Menu Number 1 Beefsteak with Mushrooms for breakfast instead of fresh KBR notEggs, baked bacon and pancakes. True to form, the rocketeers have struck as soon as things are quiet and they have enough light to shoot and scoot. Well, at least I don't have to work today! Merry Christmas One and All!

The photo was taken during a helicopter tour of the area. 572 is in a village west of Basrah (southern Iraq). The children are chanting, “No Saddam! No Saddam!” 592 is the grand opening of the Neighborhood Advisory Council. Locally elected folks representing their communities they live in. Democracy in action. 638 children going back to school. 636 is the security guard at the school, a very...
