Yesterday I posted a link to Twittering your congress person. I was told that this was a done deal and I asked the Mod to remove the thread. Today our Fearless Leader has given us a heads up. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2183035/posts This is not a done deal. If you are on Twitter, tweet your congressperson especially the three who voted to approve. If it can't be killed, at least skinny it up. Remember also, those on MySpace and Facebook, MANY congress members are there too!

This was posted on Craigslist but then promptly removed. I was lucky enough to get a copy via email and couldn’t help but laugh and share. Most of us have done the renting and roommate thing and while renting a great way to save money and split housing costs, it can be hell. You may learn something about yourself, you may even gain a special insight into the lives of the opposite sex, but eventually, you’ll swear to never do it again. There really doesn’t need to be anything further said here, a few lines into this want ad and...
  • Common gifts you should never give anyone, ever, but especially around the holidays

In this most sacred of seasons, the spirit of giving is meant to be infallible, and a giver's generosity beyond reproach. I learned this the hard way right before Thanksgiving, when I shared the worst presents I'd ever received. This story caused many readers to call me ungrateful, materialistic, and things that are not appropriate to repeat in a family blog. But, you know what? I'm continuing the crusade. Because it's OK to say it: Some gifts are bad. They should not be given. Even if you hate the person, even if you picked them in the work Secret Santa...

We here at Yahoo! Movies love trailers. Really love them. Maybe "we're obsessed with trailers" is the more accurate description. And we know our users love them, too, which is why we strive to deliver the most movie trailers with the highest quality on the web.

This afternoon I received an email from the Life of Faith company. It is a Christian company that sells dolls very much like the American Girl dolls. I bought one last year for my daughter (99.00) The banner at the top of the email ad said "Season's Greetings" I emailed them and asked what season they were celebrating, because in my house, we are celebrating the birth of Our Lord. I would expect a Christian company to do the same. I also told them that we are celebrating "Tossmas". Which meant that all emails and catalogs that do not acknowledge...
  • A Message from My Pastor

Today our Pastor gave a message for all of us. All Christians. Today was The Feast of The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica. Our Pastor began his Homily explaining what this Basilica is. As he explained it, this is the "Pope's church" just as our parish is our church. It was a great bit of history. He then went on to explain that on his recent trip to Africa, most parishes there have no building. They meet together in people's homes or in the Bush. Still, there is God. His focus then drifted to the Election. His disappointment in our...

Dear Fellow Business Owners, As a business owner who employs 24 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that BHO will be our next President, and that my taxes and fees will go up. To compensate for these increases, I figure that my customers will have to see an increase in my fees to them. I will also have to lay off 6 of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are one big family here and I did not know how to choose who would have to go. So, this is what I did. I...

I have had a few people comment on my homepage and the censoring of the Disney classic "Fantasia". I have found a link to this blog which reveals "Sunflower" in all her glory. Andrea, the owner, took a recording from "The Wonderful World of Color" aired in the 50's and spliced the character back into the original film. For a long time, Disney denied this character existed and released the 40th aniversary addition of Fantasia "uncut" but without Sunflower in the Pastoral Symphony.Enjoy!
  • Are these the rules amd have we been duped? (a kind of Vanity but an important question)

According to this website... "(b) If an elector candidate withdraws, dies, or is declared ineligible before presidential election day, a replacement elector candidate may be named by the party that nominated the elector candidate or by the independent or write-in candidate for president who named the elector candidate. I'm I reading this wrong or is this incorrect? If Obama is declared to be a non-citizen, then Hillary slips in. Was this the plan from the first? To put Hillary in, totally without scrutiny?

I need help to find a quote by the Pope about voting for the lesser of two evils (paraphasing) A while ago I said on a thread that I could not vote for John McCain because of his support for embryonic stem cell research. A FReeper gave me a quote from the Pope stating basically that we are charged as Catholics to vote for the more pro-life candidate. Could someone give me that quote again? A bunch of women are STILL voting for Ron Paul because of the stem cell issue.

One of our wonderful FReepers is giving me two tickets for the Freedom Hill McCain/Sarah Palin event tonight. My older girl selflessly gave up her spot for her younger sister. Now she is sad. I called the Macomb County McCain office and they said that even if you do not have a ticket, you will not be turned away. Is this true?!? If I take my older daughter will she get in? Does anyone know how this will work?
  • Fox seeks to stop WB's "Watchmen" after court win

Twentieth Century Fox said on Monday it will seek an injunction to block release of the Warner Bros movie "Watchmen" after a Los Angeles court ruled a copyright lawsuit against Warner can go forward. The movie about raffish, flawed superheroes -- which has already been shot -- is slated for release on March 6, said Warner Bros spokesman Scott Roe. The highly anticipated film, with a budget believed to be about $120 million, is based on a 1980s DC Comics graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. In his decision released last week, Judge Gary Feess...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc said on Friday it has held meetings with U.S. store managers warning them of issues that could arise if Democrats win power and pass a law that would make it easier for workers to unionize, but stressed it was not telling workers how to vote. Wal-Mart opposes proposed legislation called the Employee Free Choice Act, which would make it easier for workers to unionize by signing a card rather than holding a vote. "We believe EFCA is a bad bill and we have been on record as opposing it for some time," Wal-Mart...

It's not a comic book movie. That's the first thing you should know when your kids ask to see "The Dark Knight," this summer's biggest blockbuster. The film is vastly more true to Frank Miller's famous alternative view of The Batman than to the zap-pow camp of Adam West's TV portrayal and sanitized DC comics that filled our childhood. So how do you answer? Should your children see "The Dark Knight?" We turned first to our resident film fanatic and visual designer, Chuck Kim, the first of the Yahoo! Kids team to see the box office smash. "I would not...
