In January of 2008, then Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama, talking about his energy plan, told the San Francisco Chronicle, “When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal…under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket…” He wasn’t kidding. While he was talking about his cap and trade plan, something that went nowhere in Congress, even when Democrats controlled it with a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, his objective of changing how we generate electricity hasn’t changed. Neither has his lack of concern for the cost to consumers. President Obama hates coal...

In his latest "About-to-go-viral" video, filmmaker Ben Howe uses Andrew Breitbart's inspiring words at CPAC 2012 as inspiration to fire up voters hoping for change in November. "There are two paths..."

Like-minded religionists of several denominations -- including Southern Baptist leader Richard Land and Baltimore Archbishop William Lori -- gathered in Washington Thursday (May 24) to organize a response to what they see as the sorry state of religious freedom in America today. "We must all be willing to stand up and tell the government 'no,'" said Land, who heads the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. "Secularists don't like people of faith because the ultimate authority for us is not the state. The ultimate authority is God." Sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center's American Religious Freedom...

Ever heard of "SWATing"? "In the last radio interview Andrew Breitbart ever gave, on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show, Breitbart talked about a new ruthless tactic used by thugs against political opponents: [O]ne of the things they’ve done to people who have worked with me in the past, including an L.A. prosecutor, is to “SWAT.” That means that they’re spoofing phones, pretending to be somebody else’s phone, calling 911, and saying “I killed somebody” and then the person’s home is met with the guns drawn, the SWAT and the helicopters, in a horrifying act. It’s happened twice: once in New Jersey,...

In 1968, the political world was shocked when President Lyndon Johnson, running for reelection just four years after a landslide victory, was held beneath 50% of the vote in the Democrat primary in New Hampshire. Sen. Eugene McCarthy scored a shocking 41.5% of the vote against the incumbent President. The result confirmed Johnson's weakness going into the November general election. Within weeks, Sen. Robert Kennedy announced he would seek the Democrat nomination for President and Johnson announced that he would not. LBJ was bowing out of his reelection bid. Today, the Obama reelection campaign is reeling from his disastrous performance...

The Left’s deeply entrenched misogyny rears its vile head again, this time in the pages of Obama supporter Larry Flynt’s Hustler. The Blaze has been alerted to an fake explicit image apparently published in Hustler magazine depicting GBTV host and conservative commentator S.E. Cupp engaged in a sex act with what appears to be a penis in her mouth. Under the headline “Celebrity Fantasy,” the text beside the picture asks, “What would S.E. Cupp look like with a [d**k] in her mouth?” Click through for a blurred copy of the sexually explicit image. Let’s call this what it is: weaponized...

Another day, another motivational poster showcasing the brilliance of the Obama/Biden ticket. They really never learn. Not even after the last poster quickly spawned #WhenYouArePresident mockery. Mockery, schmockery, they said. The world needs this nugget of wisdom from Joe Biden in a .jpg: "I am an optimist because the American people—given half a chance—have never, ever, ever, ever let their country down. The deck has been stacked on them, and we are unstacking it." This explains everything. No wonder our backs have been hurting. We thought it was all the hours hunched over the keyboard, scouring Twitter for Twitchy content....

Project Veritas: n North Carolina we find people who are listed as non-citizens according to Jury refusal forms and who are also registered to vote. We get their comment and are offered their ballots. We are offered a ballot in the name of a dead man, and interview an election Judge who says he only wants to uphold parts of the state constitution. We also interview the following officials at UNC who seemingly embrace voter fraud:

This dad wired his Autistic son because he was told that he was violent. The teacher and aids abuse the child and even called him a "b@stard". It makes me sick. Union teacher has tenure, aide was fired.

I can't link because the article comes from the Detroit Press. PM me for the link. Basically the Hutaree members were acquitted from all but the weapons charges. According to the judge, many things the defendants said were quite offensive. "But so what?" the judge said.

Is it just my computer? I can't get into anything but the main page on Breitbart.

We’ve covered the Catholic Church’s ongoing battle with the Obama administration over contraception health care mandates for quite some time. Over the weekend, though, the stand-off took an unusual turn, as Catholic churches across America read a letter to congregants that perfectly encapsulated the church’s stance against the impending federal requirements. The Church’s vocal arguments against the Obama administration are centered upon a Health and Human Services Department requirement that employers must include contraception and abortion-inducing drugs in health-care coverage. While this requirement doesn’t apply to houses of worship, it will force Catholic colleges, hospitals and other Christian groups to...

CLEVELAND (AP) - It's courtroom drama crossed with "Sesame Street," as a television station barred from using cameras during a high-profile corruption trial covers the highlights with a nightly puppet show. It stars a talking squirrel "reporter" who provides the play-by-play in an exaggerated, "you won't believe this" tone.

BETHLEHEM, Conn. (AP) — In the little town of Bethlehem, a cloistered nun whose luminous blue eyes entranced Elvis Presley in his first on-screen movie kiss is praying for a Christmas miracle. Dolores Hart, who walked away from Hollywood stardom in 1963 to become a nun in rural Bethlehem, Conn., now finds herself back in the spotlight. But this time it’s all about serving the King of Kings, not smooching the King of Rock and Roll. The former brass factory that houses Mother Dolores and about 40 other nuns cloistered at the Abbey of Regina Laudis needs millions of dollars...

A lay-led panel of the Archdiocese of Detroit has recommended that Archbishop Allen Vigneron close 48 parishes, including the historic St. Florian Church in Hamtramck and Assumption Grotto, known nationwide for its reverent celebration of the Latin liturgy. “Within five years, nine parishes are proposed to close,” according to the panel’s recommendations. “In addition to the above, 60 parishes are proposed to merge down to 21, resulting in 39 fewer parishes. Also during this time period, seven worship sites are proposed to close. Additionally, a number of the worship sites impacted by the merging process would likely close.”

The free Web tutoring service “Khan Academy” has gotten much well-deserved attention, including a feature story in the current issue of Wired. That story includes a quote that literally took my breath away: ~~~"Even if Khan is truly liberating students to advance at their own pace, it’s not clear that the schools will be able to cope. The very concept of grade levels implies groups of students moving along together at an even pace. So what happens when, using Khan Academy, you wind up with a kid in fifth grade who has mastered high school trigonometry and physics—but is still...

I'm seeing thread and posts condemning those who are questioning the BC issue and the OBL issue. People who are asking are being called names and belittled for those questions. I will say up front that I am a "Trust but Verify" person. That's why I like Free Republic. It has been a long standing tradition to put everything out, all facts, rumors and questions. The group then sorts them and comes up with a reasonable conclusion. If you doubt that, read the book, "Hillary's Secret War" by FReeper Richard Poe. You will see how it happened back in the...
