  • RCP Poll average - Weighted Average!!! Romney ahead by almost 1 percent - VANITY

    11/01/2012 9:18:38 AM PDT · by o2bfree · 12 replies
Today the unweighted Real Clear Politics poll average may be more Trick than Treat! RCP reports a tied race when averaging polls having low margins of error with polls having much higher margins of error. However, Romney gets a signficant lead when you weight the polls in a weighted average. The weighted average seems to show that that Romney is clearly ahead, by almost a point! See it for yourself: http://goo.gl/xyV5H How it works: Polls with larger samples have a higher weight than polls with smaller samples.
  • [New York] Sanitation workers targeted specific neighborhoods

    New York Post ^ | 12/31/2010 | SALLY GOLDENBERG
There was a method to their madness. The selfish Sanitation bosses who sabotaged the blizzard cleanup to fire a salvo at City Hall targeted politically connected and well-heeled neighborhoods in Queens and Brooklyn to get their twisted message across loud and clear, The Post has learned. Their motives emerged yesterday as the city's Department of Investigation admitted it began a probe earlier this week after hearing rumblings of a coordinated job action. Sources told The Post several neighborhoods were on the workers' hit list -- including Borough Park and Dyker Heights in Brooklyn and Middle Village in Queens -- because...
  • GOP takes control of NC state Legislature for the FIRST time in 100 YEARS

    11/02/2010 8:53:08 PM PDT · by o2bfree · 56 replies
RALEIGH, N.C. — Riding a nationwide wave of voter discontent, state Republican leaders said Tuesday that the party had seized control of the state General Assembly for the first time in more than a century. Many races remained too close to call late Tuesday, but GOP Chairman Tom Fetzer predicted that Republicans would pick up 14 to 16 House seats and 10 Senate seats. That would give the party 66 to 68 seats in the 120-member House and 30 seats in the 50-member Senate. The GOP last had a majority in the state Senate in 1898. They controlled the state...

  • Fox News - Global Warming Debate Heats Up in Wake of Record Snowstorms ( slightly pro GW? )

    02/13/2010 7:35:16 AM PST · by o2bfree · 43 replies · 807+ views
The article starts with the following: "Joseph Romm, a climate change expert and former Energy Department official; Jeff Masters, a meteorologist who writes on the Weather Underground blog; and others argue that this winter's snowstorms are, counterintuitively, evidence of global warming and not cooling. "It's absurd for the 'anti-science side' to say we're in a cooling trend when we're in an overall warming trend," says Romm of the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank. "Heavy snow is not evidence that climate science is false," he added, noting that "the snow we've seen is entirely consistent with global warming...
  • Getting donations back from the McCain campaign

    12/19/2008 2:33:37 PM PST · by o2bfree · 54 replies · 1,254+ views
Anybody know if its still possible to get a donation back from the McCain campaign? I made a $200 donation on Oct. 30th and want a refund. The reasons are obvious! If you know who I should contact to make this happen let me know. If you think its impossible let me know. Or if there is another thread on this, let me know that too. If you think I was crazy to make this donation in the first place, I would concur with your assessment!
  • Wikipedia Article "Allegations regarding citizenship" received over 25 edits in 2 days!

There is a lot of activity on wikipedia surrounding the Berg lawsuit. After noticing 25 edits in the last 2 days for section "Allegations against US presidential candidates regarding citizenship", I discovered a number of questionable citations that needed scrutiny. I successfully deleted an extraordinarily poor example of a citation today. After checking later I found the same citation was re-added by user Tradewyn. I wonder why they are so concerned? The article is here.
  • McCain: Reverse your position on Ethanol - Iowa wants to vote for you.

    09/30/2008 12:57:05 PM PDT · by o2bfree · 78 replies · 1,381+ views
Folks, I spoke with a few Iowans I know and they report that many of their friends and relatives back home want to vote for McCain. But they want him to reverse his position and support Ethanol. Since McCain is the only candidate on record supporting a freeze on government spending, I think its a good idea for him to SUPPORT ethanol, and cut something else instead in its place.

  • ABC News Agenda driven against McCain/Palin

    ABC News Radio
ABC News ran a hit piece on the McCain/Palin campaign at 3:30 pm Wednesday Sept 10, where they ran a radio news report supporting Obama. In the report ABC questioned the validity of the McCain campaigns claim of sexism when Obama referred to Palin as "Lipstick on a pig". ABC implied it was fine for Obama to use the expression because its regularly used in washington politics. ABC played audio from 4 politicians using the quote, including McCAIN. McCain's voice was clearly audible in the series of quotes. During the segment, the ABC News reporter clearly mocked the McCain campaign's...
