Anybody else hear Rush say this? Why would Kerry move the speech, unless he's just trying to buy himself time for some legal maneuver? Drudge has it up now too.

My dad is a strong Bush supporter like me. He had intended to go and vote early last week but didn't make it over to the site. Well, yesterday, he had to have surgery to remove stones from his bladder, and so he's wearing a catheter with a leg bag and tends to bleed when he stands up for more than a few minutes. Don't even ask me why he didn't vote before his surgery, which was scheduled. Anyway, my thoughts immediately went to how to go about getting him to vote. My mother took him this morning to the...

Anyone else watching this? This will actually make me feel good, seeing how my Seminoles lost to Maryland earlier tonight.

I searched for a thread about this ad but didn't find one. This is a pretty funny ad - the Bush twins introduce a segment of unscripted moments involving their dad talking about things like how he still takes cues from his mother, how he picks fleas with Barney, how Barney is the "son he never had", etc.. Click on the link above and then choose your media player type to watch it.

The beginning of the end - Mancow just stated on Fox News Channel that he has papers that prove that John Kerry killed a prostitute in Tulsa! He flashed the papers but won't indicate where he got them from. He also has papers that say that Kerry robbed a bank. There has to be an investigation of these charges. If Mancow really has these documents, then we must let the American people know about them.

I found out at church last night that Sheri Valera, one of the young ladies that attends my church, has an opportunity to attend the GOP convention next month and possibly speak at the podium. There is a contest running at www.gopconvention.com/essaycontest/ The contest page says the following: Your vote will help determine who travels to New York City in August and gets to watch the action from the floor of Madison Square Garden. Learn more about the ten finalists and vote for your choice to represent America's youth at the 2004 Republican National Convention. Please visit this site and...

As some of you may have seen, on February 14th, I posted a thread entitled “Need Some Freeper Advice Here” on Free Republic regarding something an incident at work where a fellow employee made a threatening comment toward President Bush a couple of days before the President arrived in town for the Daytona 500 race. When I posted this thread, I was pretty sure I knew the answer that I was going to get from my fellow Freepers, but wanted the extra confidence that comes from having my peers tell me that I was doing the right thing in reporting...

Okay, I need some advice from some of you about what "my friend" should do regarding a situation that happened at work yesterday. Here's the scenario: First, my "friend" lives near Daytona Beach. Of course, you all know that President Bush is going to be there tomorrow for the Daytona 500 race. My friend was at work yesterday at one of our locations, and he noticed a couple of our vendor support reps were on site. He went back to greet them and chat for a minute. One of them was getting ready to leave, so my friend suggested that...

I was just wondering if any of you have any suggestions for how to make Free Republic easier to use and a better place in general. This is NOT a criticism of Jim Robinson and I am most appreciative of all his hard work. This site is great and I enjoy coming here to learn about and discuss the conservative issues of the day. This is just my desire to see this site become more "viewer-friendly" than it is in its present iteration. I've had thoughts over the years about this and these are the ones that I keep coming...

I'm just looking for some Freeper advice to help me settle a bet with a friend. Here's the situation: We go to a church that practices biblical church discipline. The church believes very strongly in this and takes it very seriously, especially in the case of adultery and divorce. Well, recently, we became aware that there is a couple who will soon be getting a divorce. The woman is initiating it, not for infidelity or anything like that, but simply because her husband "doesn't have the same goals" that she does, etc.. Needless to say, she's being asked to leave...

I don't know if any of you just saw this, but on Special Report with Brit Hume, Mort Kondracke just gave credit for this victory over Iraq to BILL CLINTON! Bret was asking the panel about their reactions to today's events and the fact that the Iraqi people are celebrating their liberation, and when he got to Kondracke, Mort started in about what an impressive job has been done by the soldiers and the Pentagon, and then he said "...and I guess even Bill Clinton deserves some of the credit for building these weapons that have been used to liberate...

Monday, October 28, 2002 Absentee voters absent for Dickerson Center ballotingBy RAY WEISS (ray.weiss@news-jrnl.com) Staff Writer DAYTONA BEACH -- There was a "get-out-the-vote" rapper, a sidewalk full of campaign workers handing out pamphlets and a gymnasium packed with election volunteers and staff. Disappointing turnout N-J/Chad PilsterCordell Moore, 5, of Daytona Beach, looks down at the near-empty voting booths Sunday at the Dickerson Center in Daytona Beach. All that was missing at the Dickerson Center Sunday were voters. Just 82 showed up. Up to 3,000 were expected to cram the 50 small booths and fill out absentee ballots. The pre-election vote...

October 10, 2002 How Florida's Voting Machine Failed (Again) By David Carr Hanging chads are nothing compared to how untested technology can ruin an election day.On Sept. 10, the state that produced the 2000 presidential election fiasco was back with a more thoroughly technological version. Having decided to switch to a computerized voting system, the state of Florida may have wound up teaching a primary-day lesson on how not to deploy a new technology.Florida's largest counties, Miami-Dade and Broward, installed electronic voting devices on an unprecedented scale, spending $24.5 million and $17.2 million, respectively, for touch-screen machines from Election...

Friday, October 04, 2002 New Jersey's balancing act: Fairness to voters should be everyone's first concernNews-Journal editorial Life isn't fair -- except in comparison to politics, where curve balls abound and the law of unintended consequences reigns supreme. Douglas Forrester, the GOP challenger to U.S. Sen. Robert Torricelli, D-N.J., is justifiably angry at the last-minute substitution on the Democratic side of the ticket. Torricelli -- whose campaign has been crippled by ethics charges -- bowed out of the race Monday. State Democratic leaders quickly announced they were replacing Torricelli on the ballot with revered former U.S. Sen. Sen. Frank R....

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - As the nation's need for organ transplants continues to outstrip supply, the American Medical Association on Sunday grappled with a possible solution once thought taboo: paying dying would-be donors and their families for vital organs. Such financial incentives are illegal, banned by Congress in 1984, and as a result people needing organ transplants must rely strictly on volunteers, a system that is failing, said many doctors attending the AMA's 2001 Interim Meeting of the House of Delegates, the association's 549-member policy-setting body. A majority vote by the members becomes official AMA policy. An AMA committee, the ...

I hope this isn't considered a vanity by the post police, but James Traficant is on Fox News right now with Paula Zahn. He has not only come out in complete support of Bush's tax cut plan as written, he also is criticizing the Clinton administration's involvement with campaign contributions from China. His criticism of his own party was so harsh that Paula actually asked him if he is considering switching parties. In support of tax cuts, he stated that it's time to stop playing class warfare, because the rich actually pay more taxes, so they should get a proportionately ...

COMMUNITY VOICES By FORREST S. DUNBAR Many members of Congress and President Bush must have an insatiable desire for ever more political contributions. This is indicated by their proposals to repeal the estate tax in spite of the many adverse effects of such an action. 1. The resulting reduction in federal revenue probably would cause reductions for major long-term concerns including Social Security, Medicare, education and anti-recession programs. Estate taxes totaled $28 billion in 1999 and are estimated to total $40 billion in 2008. 2. State governments will lose billions of dollars. They would have lost more than $5 ...

Election mess may be boon to Harris' political future By John Kennedy Tallahassee Bureau Published in The Orlando Sentinel on November 14, 2000 TALLAHASSEE -- Secretary of State Katherine Harris emerged Monday as a pivotal figure in the state`s epic elections fight and could be George W. Bush`s trump card in his bid to win the state`s decisive 25 electoral votes. Harris on Monday ruled that state law requires Florida counties to submit their election returns to her office by 5 p.m. today, or be excluded from the final state totals. That jeopardizes ballot recounts in four Democratic counties and ...
