You are obviously not a hunter. This is a tragic accident. The investigation will probably show that the safety was off, he was carrying his gun improperly, and/or was careless in his descent of the hill.
A couple of years ago, Chavez was thrown out and it looked like it might be for good. But somehow, he regained power. The US seemed completely uninterested and unsupportive of the pro-democracy forces at the time.
So I'm not surprised by any of this. The writing was on the wall a long time ago, obvious to all - except the US Government, of course.

If there were anyone else involved with the attack, they might be doing some heavy duty introspection right now. So what initially stuck me as overkill could very well have greater impact than eliminating two terrorists - and that is inspiring others to take an early retirement.
I'm still baffled by the need for conservatives to light a fire under the Bush Administration in order to get it to defend itself. Bush has a chronic propensity to be three steps behind the curve. Has his administration finally learned anything, or will it slip back into complacency the moment conservatives stop screaming at him?
That Neil Gabler is some kind of whack job. But he fills his role on the panel well - representative of the Left - and of the Left's method: just be strident and overbearing! - Never mind whether or not you make a lick of sense.
