Modern day Democrats talk often about ‘progress’. If you listen to your Democratic Congressman or Senator or President talk, they’ll mention how they want to move society forward, advance the ball, create or grow jobs through government spending, or in some way improve humanity by using the power of the state to hammer the backward among us into the future. Liberal blogs support Democrats by arguing and mocking conservatives and Republicans as ‘backwards’ and falling behind an advancing liberal society.

...one of the greatest lessons of history is to always listen to what leaders, influential people, or movements are saying. Too many times, people have ignored warnings of what is to come. Out of naivete, misplaced hope, or cowardly indifference, they cast logic and evidence aside. Then, when the proverbial fecal matter hits the fan, these same people are shocked and appalled that the others actually DID what they SAID they were GOING to DO.

How many of you know conservatives or people who claim they want to do the necessary things to save the republic? They spout off about reining in the government and cutting spending. They demand entitlement reform and a government that functions within the scope of its constitutional parameters. They slam politicians who tax and spend and wave Gadsden Flags to show their patriotic spirit. Yes that’s right they talk the talk that is until it becomes personal or in some way impacts them. These are the modern day “sunshine patriots” that Thomas Paine spoke of back during that difficult winter...

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’… The show is still on in Wisconsin. While the union bosses and other leftist groups stopped paying people to protest at the State Capitol Building, they are switching emphasis to smaller groups or individuals. Yesterday, we covered that the unions are “gooning up” businesses, threatening to boycott any business that does not condemn the governor. Now, we see that they are going to...

I have often said to my mother, who is a baby boomer and liberal, that my generation (Gen X), would have to clean up the mess that her generation left behind. As time wears on, that statement rings more and more true.

For those of you that have children, or work with children, have you ever tried to talk to a tantruming child? Have you ever talked to a teen that thinks they know everything, and facts and reason simply don’t enter into their thinking? Have you ever tried to debate a liberal? Are you seeing the connection? That’s where we are, in my opinion. We are dealing with people that haven’t grown up yet, or never will. How else might you explain that liberal protests often end in vandalism, rioting, and abuse of others?

Essentially, the Wisconsin Legislature is working on a bill that will limit union power. The goal: Have public union workers pay some of their pensions (but still less than the average private sector worker). But, for the unions, any potential limits on their power demands a rent-a-mob response. So, shirts were printed, buses were obtained, hotels reserved, teachers called off “sick,” and off they went…just like any other “real” grassroots movement.

I’ve discussed previously that part of the left’s disinfo/propaganda campaign has been to rehabilitate the utterly failed presidency of Jimmy Carter, and, whenever possible, distort and minimize the accomplishments of Ronald Reagan. That effort continues, as Gateway Pundit discussed this nonsense from Ted Koppel from a few days ago.

As most of us know, one of the most powerful weapons wielded by the Right, and particularly, we bloggers, are quotes from prominent “progressives.” If you remember, we were able to accomplish a great deal in exposing the intent of the public option that was to be included in ObamaCare by quoting President Obama, members of Congress, and other experts in heath care. Their own words were used against them, as they stated their intentions openly.

Often I hear from fellow teachers that I should be fired since I have conservative beliefs. I get emails from these liberals and they talk about me on their blog, making claims that since I am a conservative, I should not be allowed to be around children, I am clearly intolerant of others, and that everyone should be welcome to be a teacher in this country as long as they are all liberals.

On January 10th 1776 a 47 page pamphlet written by an anonymous writer was published in the English colonies. The mood in the colonies was one of uneasiness as open revolt was beginning to flare up in the New England colonies. Deep divisions over the debate for independence from mother England were gripping many of the colonists. Many colonists feared just entertaining the idea of breaking away from England was treason and punishable by death. They believed that the differences they had with the crown could be reconciled. Then a 39 year pamphleteer who just two years earlier lived in...

“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don’t move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there’ll be no way of stopping them, we’ll lose the filibuster and there’ll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild...

We have all witnessed the massive expansion of the federal government under the current administration. And whenever something grows in size something else is displaced. In regard to our government’s growth it has been our individual liberties that have been displaced and this should outrage all of us no matter where we fall on the political spectrum.

Next week here in my county we’ll have a Republican County Convention, and for those of you who can’t make it, I’ll give you a taste of what it is going to be- a battle between the Tea Party and the Establishment. Although many people in the Tea Party think this is some sort of new battle, it is in reality an old battle in the GOP, one that has pitted the libertarian/conservative/teaparty wing of Taft/Coolidge/Goldwater/Reagan/Palin vs the moderate/establishment/progressive wing of Roosevelt/Hoover/Nixon/Bush/McCain. For many years, the teaparty wing cowardly left the field of battle and stayed home while the establishment...

I heard this story years ago, so I thought I’d post it. The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them. The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or...

The laws of our country are written down, supremely in the form of the Constitution of the United States of America. Either your Congressman believes in that document and believes in that social contract and believes in the principles and beliefs which it enshrines, or they don’t. The laws of our nation have been toiled over for many years, and after great efforts and pains laws have been created to govern ethics, bankruptcy, fraud, pay, and many other issues, and your Congressman either respects the law in our nation, or he respects the rule of men and personal power and...

I received this via email from one of my non-blogging friends. I loved it, and thought you might too. I cannot vouch for the “author.” It is a viral email, so you never know. THE TAX SYSTEM EXPLAINED IN BEER Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100… If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this… The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1. The sixth would pay $3. The seventh would pay $7.....

We know that the Tea Parties are trying to accomplish change at the state level. We know that blogs, such as this one, are attempting to inform and educate. We know that there are many Conservative organizations that are attempting to save this Republic in innumerable ways. People are energized and active as never before. Better yet, more and more people are reading the founding documents, and are studying the ideas that are represented in our Republic. I think we’d all agree that these are excellent developments. However, there is a dark side. There is a well-organized “progressive” organization that...

It’s not lost on anyone that the upcoming midterms are perhaps the most important in the history of this nation. Given that level of importance, it is definitely time to discuss voter fraud. It’s been said that, in certain parts of the US, that a GOP candidate being up one or two points will lose due to voter fraud. Why would folks say that? Well, the evidence is voluminous. For example, we know that members of ACORN were convicted of voter registration fraud. We know that Al Franken won with the felon vote. The list can go on and on....

It seems that every month, economic indicators are released that take the elites and the MSM (redundant?) by surprise. Hence, the MSM leads with headlines like, “unexpected,” “surprising,” and the like. Here is the latest “unexpected” story, from CNBC. New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly climbed to a nine-month high last week, yet another setback to the frail economic recovery. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 500,000 in the week ended August 14, the highest since mid-November, the Labor Department said on Thursday. Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast claims slipping to 476,000...
