A 21-year-old college student was shot Tuesday morning while driving on California 163 to class at the University of San Diego, police said. The woman drove to campus and reported to a security guard that she felt a pain in her side. An investigation showed that she had been shot in the right rib cage. She was taken to a local hospital. No motive or suspects have been found. Because it is a freeway incident, the case is being handled by the California Highway Patrol.
