A new dangerous eating disorder has been plaguing college campuses, a study has found. 'Drunkorexia' describes a behavior when a student will skip a meal or exercise excessively before drinking. They will then deliberately purge during or afterward. The main point of drunkorexia is to cut down on calories and instead save them for drinking. It's intent is also to increase a buzz when drinking.

A hate crime aimed at black students at Maryland's Salisbury University has been revealed as just the latest high-profile race-related hoax to hit the groves of academe in the race-obsessed Obama era. Except for acknowledging that the two perpetrators are African-American students at the school that is located on the Delmarva Peninsula in eastern Maryland, the university is engaged in a cover-up. If the perpetrators were white, a cynic might say that the school would find a way to leak out the pertinent details in order to make a political statement. Of course, there certainly are racist incidents on university...

A vocal group of students at the University of California Berkeley is demanding the university use taxpayer dollars to fund an abortion clinic on campus. LifeNews reported the UC Berkeley student government approved a resolution in March urging administrators to provide free abortions through the university health services. The students claim that better access to abortion will help female students to succeed. However, not everyone is supportive of the on-campus abortion clinic. Members of the UC Berkeley Students for Life club said they were horrified by the proposal. “This is exactly the kind of callous attitude that forces students to...

First let’s understand what we ‘re talking about. We are talking about thugs who learned their tactics from the Brown Shirts... Back then they spoke mostly German. Today they speak mostly Arabic even if it’s in English. The target? The Jews. Anybody else? Nobody else. Think Kristallnacht (the infamous Night of Breaking Glass) – except on a daily basis, not just one night – and focused on every business imaginable, and the campuses. Nearly every college and university in the United States has them, and has them ready to “break glass” and riot against anything Jewish or Israeli. Mostly a...

**SNIP** It was during the remodel when Laurie Woodward, director of the school's student union, posed the question to others on the board, as well as students. "Does the MLK quote represent us today?" a student asked the board when the issue arose, according the Daily Emerald. Apparently, some students believed King's call for all people to be judged equally was not inclusive enough for some. "Diversity is so much more than race," sophomore Mia Ashley toldl the school paper. "Obviously race still plays a big role. But there are people who identify differently in gender and all sorts of...

Students at an ultra-liberal Ohio college are in an uproar over the fried chicken, sushi and Vietnamese sandwiches served in the school cafeterias, complaining the dishes are "insensitive" and "culturally inappropriate." Gastronomically correct students at Oberlin College — alma mater of Lena Dunham — are filling the school newspaper with complaints and demanding meetings with campus dining officials and even the college president.

A sophomore at Texas State University died after being shot at an apartment complex near the campus early Sunday morning. Justin Douglas Gage, 20, died at University Medical Center-Brackenridge several hours after being shot in the torso and upper arm at The Retreat, an official student housing partner of Texas State Athletics located at 512 Craddock Avenue, less than two miles from campus. Police said he had gone into an apartment at the complex shortly before 3:30 a.m. with a friend. When the two went inside, they were followed by three men wearing masks, one of whom brandished a gun....

As American youth regress toward an infantile state of development, one university president has finally had enough of the nonsense.  Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, had a wake-up call recently that prompted him to write an open letter to the student body. So what happened that caused him to speak out against this madness?  Per a report at TheBlaze: “This past week, I actually had a student come forward after a university chapel service and complain because he felt ‘victimized’ by a sermon on the topic of 1 Corinthians 13,” Piper explained in his letter posted to the...

Allow me to generalize: no.  The answer is no. No, Yale is not a hotbed of racism.  Neither is Dartmouth.  Neither is Columbia.  Neither is Princeton.  No reasonable person of color on any of these campuses really believes that he suffers interminable racial discrimination sanctioned by such institutions.  The best inducement to cathartic rage the Ivy Leaguers can find is strips of black electric tape on some old portraits (unclear whether it's a hoax) or the last name of one of the more progressive Democrats in history. You know you're desperate when your slogan is "We Will Not Surrender...

The most recent reports say there is a crisis in child services in the United States. The cost of daycare spaces has reached absolutely astronomic levels. Placement at the University of Missouri, for example, easily breaks the $40,000 threshold. {SNIP} If Jonathan Swift -- and I do not think there is a single protestor at Yale or Mizzou who knows anything about him, except that he is dead and was white) — were around today, he would curl up in a fetal ball at the impossibility of mocking a reality so pathetically stupid that it is mock-proof. Yale campus was...

Chaos swept over college campuses around the nation Thursday, as the ousters of the embattled University of Missouri system's president and chancellor earlier this week were followed by dozens of other student protests calling for more faculty and staff heads to roll. A popular professor at Missouri said he resigned Wednesday after students lashed out at him for pledging to give a scheduled exam amid spiraling protests, but the university said Thursday it rejected his resignation. The Dean of Students at Claremont McKenna College in California, Mary Spellman, resigned in a letter to the community Thursday, after some at the...

A longtime economics professor at the University of Texas at Austin is leaving the school, saying the state's new campus carry law -- which makes it legal for some Texans to carry concealed handguns into college classrooms beginning next August -- has "substantially enhanced" the chances of a shooting. "With a huge group of students my perception is that the risk that a disgruntled student might bring a gun into the classroom and start shooting at me has been substantially enhanced by the concealed-carry law," economics professor emeritus Daniel Hamermesh, who has been at UT since the mid-90s, wrote in...

The view endorsed by Rep. Jared Polis (this passage apparently both as to public universities and private universities, start at 1:57:28): It seems like we ought to provide more of a legal framework, then, that allows a reasonable likelihood standard or a preponderance of evidence standard [for deciding whether to expel college students accused of sex offenses]. If there are 10 people who have been accused, and under a reasonable likelihood standard maybe one or two did it, it seems better to get rid of all 10 people. We’re not talking about depriving them of life or liberty, we’re talking...

Among the great ironies surrounding the state of academia is the continued insistence on hearing more and more “marginalized voices” and increasing “diversity” on campus, as if there is some kind of archaic conservative establishment making that difficult to do. One would likely be hard-pressed to find a more left-leaning group than college professors and admissions officers, who prioritize pulling marginalized groups out of their marginalization and adding people of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to campus conversations. Yet in their efforts to achieve a more egalitarian conversation, left-wing academics and their students completely ignore (at best) and marginalize (at...

The accused is the victim.Amherst College expelled a male student who was accused of sexually assaulting a female student while he was blacked out. Again, while he was blacked out. The woman he allegedly assaulted was fully lucid. How did that happen? It didn’t. The evidence overwhelmingly suggests that the male student did nothing wrong. If anyone committed sexual assault during their encounter, it was in fact the female student. The male student, “John Doe,” is suing Amherst. KC Johnson parsed his lawsuit here. Agreeing with Johnson’s analysis, The Washington Examiner’s Ashe Schow wrote: This is one of the few...

The Columbia University student who carried her mattress around campus to protest how the school dealt her alleged rapist has created a video of herself having violent sex for her latest art piece. Emma Sulkowicz's new work, 'Ceci N'est Pas Un Viol' or 'This is not a rape', shows the 22-year-old engaging in consensual sexual contact with an unidentified man before it takes a dark twist. It’s sad that we have to do an annual recap on this topic. It’s even sadder that we could do more frequent updates. The Amcha Intiative at the University of California, led by the estimable Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, a lecturer in the UC system, has compiled a “Swastika Tracker” which gives “a partial list of incidents where swastikas were found on U. S. campuses.” Swastikas have been display on at least 14 campuses so far this year including: • Stanford • Northwestern • The University of Missouri • Framingham State University • Farleigh Dickinson • Northeastern • Tufts • SUNY Purchase...
