Count this Twitchy editor not one bit surprised that California State Senator Scott Wiener has been aware of Paul Pelosi’s alleged attacker for a long time. Nothing against the gay community, but LGBTQ activist Wiener wanted to lower penalties for LGBT sex predators and floated a bill “offering Drag Queen 101 as part of the K-12 curriculum.” Age of consent is a big issue with Wiener, who also wanted to lower the age of consent for the COVID-19 vaccine from 18 to 12. Wiener told KRON4 that he has been aware of assault suspect David DePape “for a long time...

The federal prosecutor who said Donald Trump could face charges in the riot at the U.S. Capitol was not authorized to speak out, and his remarks caused uproar at the Justice Department, according to a new report. Michael Sherwin, the Trump-appointed former acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, broke protocol by not seeking department approval for the interview with 60 Minutes on Sunday, people briefed on the matter told CNN. The remarks reportedly infuriated senior officials in the department, where new Attorney General Merrick Garland is pushing for a 'no drama' policy and discouraging comments on active investigations.

During a recent press conference, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pointed to issues like "climate change" and "mental health," when asked why there has been a "rise in threats" against politicians. The Canadian leader, who spent weeks demonizing truckers protesting his government’s COVID-19 mandates earlier this year, said "climate change," the mentally ill, and economic changes – among other external factors – were to blame for people’s frustration with their governments. A handful of the prime minister's critics noticed that he conveniently left himself out of the blame game. Prompting Trudeau’s answer, one reporter asked, "What do you think is...

Business owners in the Castro are attempting to take matters into their own hands when it comes to the San Francisco neighborhood’s unhoused population. The Castro Merchants Association sent a letter to city officials outlining three demands: 35 shelter beds designated for “mentally ill and substance-abusing individuals who have taken up residence in the Castro,” a request for monthly metrics on the services offered or provided to unhoused people in the neighborhood, and a plan for what to do after people decline services. Dave Karraker, co-president of the Castro Merchants Association, told SFGATE that businesses will potentially stop paying taxes...

Charlie Crist, the Democrat candidate for Florida Governor, just announced that his running mate will be Karla Mats. Interestingly, her nickname has been “Karla Marx” due her public statement regarding Fidel Castro. It’s a weird position to take in a location to which people came to escape the squalor and depravity of communist Cuba under Castro. Her public praise of a communist dictator isn’t all she has going for her. She’s also the President of a teacher’s union, the United Teachers of Dade, which covered up for and protected a serial sexual predator for more than a decade. It was...

ROME – Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega expelled the Missionaries of Charity, the religious order founded by Mother Teresa of Kolkata, and closed two Catholic TV stations as he continued his campaign to end any form of real or perceived opposition to his regime. The announcement confirming the closure of all their activities came June 28, as the government of Ortega and his wife, Vice President Rosario Murillo, announced they were closing another 101 NGOs “urgently.” Since a civil uprising of April 2018, the government has cracked down on voices of opposition. To date, there are 150 opposition leaders in prison,...

If passed, the freeze on handguns is expected to come into force in the autumn. Canada's public safety minister has tabled regulatory amendments in parliament to ensure it can be implemented swiftly, according to a ministry statement.

“This week, White House officials announced steps to move away from the “maximum pressure” approach of sanctions and diplomatic isolation toward Cuba and Venezuela that was a centerpiece of former President Donald Trump’s Latin America strategy,” (italics mine) reports Foreign Policy ….”The new policies include allowing increased U.S. remittance flows and select U.S. travel to the island.” "I think we've seen this song before… This is going to increase the amount of money that's going to the dictatorship." Said DeSantis during an appearance at the University of Miami Health System’s Don Soffer Clinical Research Center….“I think people, particularly down in...

One of the weirdest tropes on the Left these days is the claim that freedom from government control is really fascism. Yesterday a reporter tried that theory out on Ron DeSantis, quoting a couple of Democrats who equated his Florida “regime” with totalitarian dictators like Fidel Castro. Big mistake:

It’s no secret that the Democrats are in trouble with Latino voters in the run-up to the midterm elections. Polling from last month showed that the president’s approval ratings are at their lowest among Hispanic voters. The Democrats’ border crisis, their leftward shift on cultural issues, and the economy have all prompted Latino voters to break toward the GOP. The Democrats are aware of their issues with Latinos, and they’ve launched a new strategy to reach them. There’s one problem: the slogan. This new initiative to reach out to Spanish-speaking voters uses the slogan “Adelante,” which means “onward” or “forward.”...

“Those Cuban-CIA men (Bay of Pigs vets) were as tough, dedicated and impetuous a group of soldiers as I’ve ever had the honor of commanding,” wrote legendary anti-communist mercenary “Mad Mike” Hoare, commander of the “Wild Geese,” in his book Congo Mercenary. ''This is the history of a failure,'' said the oddly frank opening lines of Che Guevara’s Congo Dairies. “I stood above Che Guevara, my boots near his head, just as Che had once stood over my dear friend and fellow 2506 Brigade member, Nestor Pino. ‘We're going to kill you all," Che said to Pino.’ Now, the situation...

Several observers have pointed out the terrible optics and even worse legal and cultural implications of the FBI’s raids earlier this month on three undercover journalists’ homes. Since the reporters’ organization, Project Veritas, is a political opponent of the American regime, the raids echo government behavior in unfree countries such as Russia, China, and Turkey.Yet there’s another, less remarked, aspect to this story. It’s the raids’ effect of protecting a longtime, top-tier deep state information operations partner, The New York Times.Project Veritas is a threat to The New York Times, not only in some of its undercover reporting about Times...
