The Chick-fil-A saga continues. It all started when president and COO Dan Cathy made statements against gay marriage. and now, things have ramped up into a national debate. Rev. Billy Graham, the legendary evangelical minister, has now entered the fray, coming to the aid of Chick-fil-A. The polarizing 93-year-old is against gay marriage, and earlier this year, he publicly endorsed a constitutional amendment to ban it in North Carolina. Graham has traditionally stayed away from "thorny social issues" for years, according to CNN, so this should raise some eyebrows. Here's the statement from Graham: “I want to express my support...

At what point did being right and normal become “controversial”? Oh, we know the cultural tectonic shift from traditional moral values to chaotic debauchery began in earnest in the 1960s, and we have seen our society gradually and steadily slide into moral decay since then. Those of us who stand for biblical values and principles have allowed the public conversation about truth to be hijacked by the radical Left, although that hijacking has been subtle and creeping. Therefore we now have a media storm of “controversy” when a prominent businessman makes a commonplace statement about his belief in traditional family...

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say ‘we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage and I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.” ~ Dan Cathy, President, Chick-fil-A Chick-fil-A is a family-owned, family-run business which is guided by explicitly biblical business principles and even closes on Sunday in honor of what the Scriptures call “the Lord’s day.” Chick-fil-A started in 1967 and has recorded 44...

Like many others, I will not be able to go to a Chik-Fil-A tomorrow to show support for them choosing to stand up for traditional marriage. Actually, that really bothers me. When a business owner is willing to stand up to the radical left, I feel it is critical to support them! So, I went to their website to see if I could order a gift card online tomorrow, I want to see tomorrow be their biggest day of sales ever! So, while I couldn't find a gift card, I found their store that has lots of various items for...

Trying to do some damage control after President Dan Cathy said marriage equality activists are "inviting God's judgment on our nation," Chick-fil-A today posted the above Facebook message saying the "independent" franchises treat all customers with "honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender."

Dan Cathy, the president and chief operating officer of popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A, said in a radio interview this week that legalizing same-sex marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.” Appearing on “The Ken Coleman Show,” Cathy spoke of his company’s pride in its socially conservative character, but then offered an assessment of same-sex marriage that might lose the chain a few customers. “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,’” said Cathy.

The president of Chick-fil-A said his company is “guilty as charged” when it comes to supporting traditional marriage and warned that gay marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.” Dan Cathy, the president and chief operating officer, told Baptist Press that the company founded by his father was unapologetically in favor of traditional marriage.

Some have opposed the company's support of the traditional family. "Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position. "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that. "We operate as a family business ... our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that," Cathy emphasized. "We intend to...

Fast food chain Chick-Fil-A has been accused of being anti-gay for supporting organizations such as Focus on the Family, which oppose gay marriage. Here's a modest proposal for liberals who say they support job creation: Stop smearing successful, law-abiding private companies whose values don't comport with yours. I'm looking at you, New York Times. Chick-fil-A is an American success story. Founded by Georgian entrepreneur Truett Cathy in 1946, the family-owned chicken-sandwich chain is one of the country's largest fast-food businesses. It employs some 50,000 workers across the country at 1,500 outlets in nearly 40 states and the District of Columbia. The company generates more than $2 billion in revenue and serves millions of happy customers with trademark Southern hospitality. So, what's the problem?...

The comic strip "Cathy," which has chronicled the life, frustrations and swimsuit season meltdowns of its namesake for more than 30 years, is coming to an end. Cathy Guisewite, the strip's creator, said Wednesday that deciding to end the comic strip was "excruciating." The comic has won several awards, including a 1992 National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program in 1987, and at its height appeared in 1,400 papers. "It's just been really unbelievably agonizing to make the decision," Guisewite said in a telephone interview from her home in the Los Angeles area. "The...

From Tuesday’s Energy & Environment Daily story, “Lawmaker ownership in BP, Transocean, Halliburton stirs controversy” (subscription required): At least two dozen lawmakers own investments in the three companies tied to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill as Congress investigates the disaster and considers reforms. “This is a serious conflict of interest,” said Craig Holman, government affairs lobbyist for Public Citizen, a watchdog group. “Only Congress exempts [itself] from this type of conflict of interest. “They should not be making decisions that affect their own personal well-being,” Holman added.

Dear Family and Friends, Zimbabwe has begun harvesting the results of six years of mismanagement. We are continuing to have a bountiful rainy season and every day the heavens open and wash our troubled land. Streams and rivers are flowing, dams are filling, the vegetation is flourishing but all this water is causing crumbling, decrepit and un-maintained systems to come dangerously close to falling apart. This week the reports of diarrhoea and cholera have continued and we have seen the most appalling television coverage of foul and filthy piles of sodden and decaying garbage in and around the capital city....

Fraud, What Fraud? Voter Oddities in Georgia By William John Hagan Houston Home Journal Warner Robins, GA Personally, I was relieved when Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox stated that, “I cannot recall one documented case of voter fraud during my tenure as Secretary of State.” Never again would I have to have my vote canceled out by a constituent who, long ago, had gone to his grave or, better yet, had never existed. Cathy Cox’s representations were not only assuring, they offered hope that the long anticipated demise of our democratic system has been “greatly exaggerated.” My relief was...

To: U.S. Congress Six Ohio-based reservists were court-martialed for taking Army vehicles abandoned in Kuwait by other units so they could carry out their own unit's mission to Iraq. Members of the 656th Transportation Company said they needed the equipment to deliver fuel that was needed by U.S. forces in Iraq for everything from helicopters to tanks. The reservists took two tractor-trailers and stripped parts from a five-ton truck that had been abandoned in Kuwait by other units that had already moved into Iraq, one of the reservists, Darrell Birt of Columbus, told the Associated Press on Sunday. Birt, a...
