While much of the attention in discussions about climate change often focuses on areas such as the Arctic or small island nations, the effects on regions such as the Middle East, and particularly Iraq, is often overlooked. Yet, the consequences of climate change in Iraq are profound and far-reaching, affecting not only the environment but also exacerbating existing social, economic and political challenges. As the world grapples with the wider existential threat, it is critical that we shed light on the plight of Iraq and outline the actions both the country and the international community must take to address this...

A Quebec man has just been found guilty of starting fourteen forest fires in Canada last year. Brian Paré, 38, pleaded guilty to starting the fires which the corporate media and green agenda advocates blamed on “climate change.” At a courthouse in central Quebec, Paré pleaded guilty to 13 counts of arson and one count of arson with disregard for human life, according to CBC. When he was eventually apprehended, he told police he started the fires to check if the forest was dry or not. The pyromaniac’s arsonist spree began in May and lasted through September. Last year, Canada...

ROME — Pope Francis asserted Sunday that global warming is contrary to God’s plan and presents a significant risk to all “life on earth.” “Besides war, our world is threatened by another great danger, that of the climate, which puts life on Earth, especially for the future generations, at risk,” the pontiff stated in a written text, which was read aloud by his aide Monsignor Paolo Braida following the weekly Angelus prayer. “And this is contrary to the plan of God, who created everything for life,” he added. Impelled by this apocalyptic distress, the pope said that next weekend he...

Thanksgiving “could soon become another victim of climate change,” a recent report by ABC News warned. The report said rising temperatures “threaten the abundance and quality” of ingredients that make up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. “As a result, these essential food items could become increasingly scarce and more expensive, potentially forcing families to omit or make substitutions in key recipes on their Thanksgiving menus,” the report said.

For the first time since record keeping began, Earth has surpassed a critical temperature threshold that scientists have long warned could unleash the worst effects of climate change. On Friday the planet soared 2.07 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, or the 1850 to 1900 average, according to Europe’s Copernicus Climate Change Service. Not all hope is lost, however. The Fifth National Climate Change Assessment, released last week by the White House, underscored that every fraction of a degree of warming added or averted will make a difference.

A new poll shows that a shocking number of French citizens support banning people from flying more than four times in their lives due to climate change. A poll from research firm Consumer Science and Analytics Institute (CSA) found that 41% of citizens would support such a limit. That number rose to 59% support among 18-24-year-olds. The suggested limit, proposed by engineer Jean-Marc Jancovici, would apply to air travel for business and pleasure. The poll surveyed 1,010 French residents over the age of 18. It found that support for air travel restrictions was far higher among younger age groups. While...

Biden unveiled a plan on Friday to mitigate the economic risks the climate crisis poses. The report outlines strategies to protect Americans' savings and retirements from climate-related risks. This follows a May executive order analyzing how the climate crisis impacts the US financial systems. President Joe Biden has made clear that acting on the climate crisis is a top priority for his administration - and he also wants to ensure Americans' wallets aren't being hurt in the process. On Friday, Biden unveiled a 40-page report, entitled "A Roadmap to Build a Climate-Resilient Economy," which focuses on mitigating the financial risks...

Scientists are worried the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), a "critical aquatic conveyer belt" that drives currents in the Atlantic Ocean, is at risk of near-complete collapse due to climate change, The Washington Post reports.A shutdown of the crucial circulation system could "bring extreme cold to Europe and parts of North America, raise sea levels along the U.S. East Coast, and disrupt seasonal monsoons that provide water to much of the world," the Post reports. The effects, in short, would be devastating."The mere possibility that the AMOC tipping point is close should be enough for us to take countermeasures," warns...

Greta Thunberg became the poster child for climate hysteria and fraud by sailing across the Atlantic in a supposedly “zero-carbon” yacht, the Malizia II, which in fact was made out of petroleum products from stem to stern ... Malizia II, like the rest of the yachts in the Imoca 60 class, is constructed from high-tech carbon fiber composites to make it ultra light and fast. It is the ultimate play thing of the wealthy elite. These boats are made of hydrocarbons, not to mention all the energy it took to make them. Carbon fiber composites are primarily made from propane...

Pope Francis releases a video message accompanying his prayer intention for September, which is that the world's seas and oceans may be protected. In his prayer intention for the month of September 2019, Pope Francis invites us to pray that "politicians, scientists and economists work together to protect the world’s seas and oceans." It has become the custom of Pope Francis to release a video message detailing his prayer intention for each month. The full text of his intention is below: Oceans contain the bulk of our planet’s water supply, and also most of the immense variety of living creatures, many...

Back in May I wrote here about the newest celebrity among the climatistas, the Swedish schoolgirl Greta Thunberg who was adorning the cover of Time magazine, giving TED talks, appearing at the World Economic Forum, and, soon, speaking at UN climate change summit of some kind. This, after sailing across the Atlantic to get to New York to avoid the carbon footprint of a plane flight, never mind that she made the voyage in a sailboat made largely from oil and constructed in an energy-intensive manufacturing process, and never mind that a crew of four is going to be flown...

Full title: Britain's Guardian newspaper tells staff to avoid saying 'climate change,' use 'climate emergency, crisis or breakdown' instead Britain's Guardian newspaper is officially changing its language concerning climate change, opting to call it instead “climate emergency, crisis or breakdown.” Editor-in-chief Katharine Viner advised the staff in an email Friday that the phrase “climate change” should be avoided because it “sounds rather passive and gentle’ and doesn’t capture the real threat to humanity. “We want to ensure that we are being scientifically precise and rooted in facts, while also communicating clearly with readers on this very important issue,” Viner wrote. The...

A leading US Republican says she fears for the future of her seven grandchildren with Donald Trump in the White House. Christine Todd Whitman, head of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under George W Bush, accused Mr Trump of ignoring compelling science. And she warned that his threat to scrap climate protection policies puts the world's future at risk. Trump supporters say rules on climate and energy are stifling business. But Ms Todd Whitman says the US must find ways of promoting business without unduly harming the planet.

Even more climate hysteria, and still no evidence The recent toxic algae bloom near Toledo, Ohio—which severely disrupted the potable water supply to this city—has generated a lot of finger-pointing. Climate change features prominently as a common causal target. The Guardian initially attempted to blame this year’s algae bloom on hotter summers in the Toledo area, which overlooked the following basic facts ruling out this blame: “July 2014 was one of the coldest months of July on record for the Toledo region, Lake Erie’s temperature during the last days of the month was well below the historical average and the...

Having conducted what they characterize as "the first comprehensive synthesis" of quantitative analyses linking violence to climatic changes, a trio of researchers has come to the conclusion that as the world continues to heat up, humankind will be more prone to violence. "If future populations respond similarly to past populations, then anthropogenic climate change has the potential to substantially increase conflict around the world, relative to a world without climate change," conclude Solomon Hsiang, Marshall Burke, and Edward Miguel, authors of a paper published on Thursday in the journal Science entitled "Quantifying the Influence of Climate on Human Conflict". The...

With the ClimateGate revelations of flimsy “science” behind the man-made global warming theory, the role of the religious left in promoting this fraudulent scheme now deserves serious media scrutiny. Because that is unlikely, consider the following: Dr. James Wanliss, Associate Professor of Physics at Presbyterian College, has written The Green Dragon, a book about how environmentalism is actually committed to “the reconstruction of a pagan world order” and “rejection of Christian spirituality.” Wanliss argues that the environmental movement “is a religion with a vision of sin and repentance, heaven and hell. It even has a special vocabulary, with words like...
