What you should do about it. Several Tea Party-favored candidates have had surprising success this primary season. Most of them have a very good chance of winning, in many cases against savvy, experienced incumbents with ties to major funding and media they can rely on for support. Overall, Republicans are poised to become a majority in the House and possibly even the Senate this November. There’s been a sea change in the country, much quicker and more substantial than liberty lovers might have expected as recently as a year ago. Yet for some of us, it’s hard to escape a nagging...
  • Marginalizing Jim DeMint: Senate Republicans Trying to Get Tom Coburn to Be Judas to Conservatives?

As you know, Senate Republicans are more than a little unhappy with Jim DeMint. The Senate GOP will see an influx of DeMint backed candidates after November. Consequently, the Senate GOP has become more fixated with marginalized Jim DeMint than fighting Barack Obama. For perspective, Mitch McConnell won’t even campaign against or speak ill of Harry Reid to help Sharron Angle. But his minion are all over Washington newspapers badmouthing Jim DeMint.

Here's what's rich about the continuing back-and-forth between Karl Rove and Christine O'Donnell: The most significant concern about O'Donnell is the argument that conservatives should ignore qualifications and personal flaws as long as a candidate checks the right ideological boxes. Well, what candidate benefited from that calculus more than Rove's pet project George W. Bush?

The civil war in the Republican Party takes another turn on Wednesday night when Sarah Palin basher Nicolle Wallace lends her name to a fundraiser for a pro-homosexual group called American Foundation for Equal Rights. Wallace, an adviser to the 2008 McCain for President campaign, figures prominently in Sarah Palin’s book, Going Rogue, as someone determined to get her on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric so that she could be sandbagged by the left-wing anchorwoman.

  • FReep this Poll: Would You Support a Tea Party Candidate over the GOP in the 2012 General Election?

Trying to pick everyone's brains out there in internetland. If the Republican nomination was sewn up by a RINO-- a John McCain, Lindsey Graham, or a Rudy Giuliani, would you support a third-party Tea Party candidate like Sarah Palin or Christine O'Donnell rather than throwing your weight behind the establishment campaign? So would it be the RINO to prevent another term for Obama? Tea Party to remain true to principles? Or if you're insane-- Barack Obama to destroy the economy. Or someone else?

For too long, conservatives have allowed the left to define them. With more Americans becoming disillusioned with Obama, it's time to counter the media's portrayal of conservatives as radical, illegitimate extremists, concerned only with amassing wealth and kicking gays. Here's a quick guide to help identify the basic differences between leftists and conservatives. Conservatives understand that the system of capitalism is the greatest engine of wealth creation the world has ever known. They don't think profit is a dirty word. Leftists argue that feelings, not the bottom line, should be the motivating factor in all of life's decisions. Conservatives believe...

That’s what one listener just called Karl Rove on the Sean Hannity show. The conservative base is in full-scale revolt. This is a good and healthy thing. Close political observers of and on the Right know that the revolt against Big Government/Open-Borders Rove/Bush-ism has been brewing a long time. See here, here, here, and here, for example. Mark Skousen sums it up well: Rove covers the financial crisis of 2008 briefly in his book, only two pages, but blames the entire affair on the Democrats’ failure to support Bush initiatives to regulate Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Barney Frank and...
