  • What Made Jesse Reach For The Pinking Shears?

When The Reverend knew the mike was live, he had the following to say about his friend, Senator Obama. "My support for Senator Obama's campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal," he said in his statement. "I cherish this redemptive and historical moment." The average American would have to be off testing missile systems on Kwajalein Island to not know what Jesse Jackson had to say when he thought the mike was dead. While this isn’t Jesse’s first bad experience with non-off-the record commentary, it was gratuitous and over-the top like a bad Stallone movie. Jesse Jackson has reasons that are...

WASHINGTON - In a vulgar tirade caught on tape by Fox News, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said he wanted to "cut his [Barack Obama's] nuts out" and he accused the fellow Chicagoan of "talking down to black folks" by giving moral lectures to African-Americans, source said Jackson's shocking quotes were picked up by a hot mic before an interview on health care in Fox's Chicago studio last Sunday Fox planned to air the recording on Bill O'Reilly's "The Factor" show.

The news that the Rev. Jesse Jackson took a crude swipe at Sen. Barack Obama this week put renewed scrutiny on the relationship between the veteran civil rights activist and Democratic presidential contender. But Jackson's vulgar criticism of Obama came close to going unreported. Jackson made the comments to a guest before an interview on Sunday's "Fox & Friends," whispering that Obama was "talking down to black people" and that Jackson wanted to "cut his nuts off." The comments went unnoticed in the control room, Bill Shine, Fox News' senior vice president for programming, said Thursday. //snip// O'Reilly told viewers...

A few weeks ago, the Rev. Jesse Jackson made something of a fool of himself. There he was -- a historical figure in his own right -- threatening the castration of Barack Obama. It was sad to see. If I have often criticized Mr. Jackson, I have also, reservedly, admired him. He is a late 20th century outcropping of a profoundly American archetype: the self-invented man who comes from nothing and, out of sheer force of personality, imposes himself on the American consciousness. If he never reached the greatness to which he aspired, he nevertheless did honor to the enduring...
  • Did Jesse Jackson suggest Obama be lynched?

Just a general query; when Jesse Jackson said he wanted to cut Obama's nuts off, wasn't he recalling a time when black men were lynched? I remember reading history and when such terrible events happened, black men were treated in just the way Jesse suggested. So would it be fair to say Jesse Jackson has done the equivalent of hanging a noose? I can imagine what the press would be doing today if John McCain had said he wanted to cut Obama's nuts off. Any thoughts?

Editor & Publisher, the newspaper trade magazine, notes that many news organizations have been indirect in reporting on Jesse Jackson's tirade against Barack Obama. . . . Jackson's statement is shocking, but not primarily because it is crude and vulgar. As the Chicago Tribune's Dawn Turner Trice notes: Given Jackson's age -- he's 66 -- and civil rights background, he certainly understands the historical implications of black men and the threat of castration in this country. Quite frankly, it's a history that's painfuly [sic] intertwined with lynching. The literature on lynching frequently describes it as a symbolic act of castration;...
  • Jesse Jackson Is Right: Obama Does Talk Down to Black People

For seemingly the first time ever, Jesse Jackson has actually given an apology instead of demanding one. What happened? While waiting for an interview, a microphone caught him whispering: “See, Barack’s been talking down to black people on this faith-based . . . I wanna cut his nuts off. Barack, he’s talking down to black people.” And for what also seems to be the first time ever, Jesse Jackson is correct. Not about the castration, of course, that’s wrong and probably illegal in most states. (And can anyone explain how advocating privates-chopping is better than saying “nappy-headed hoes”?)

The Reverend Jesse Jackson said his offer to cut Senator Obama’s nuts off “should not be construed as, in any way, hostile to the Illinois senator’s drive to become the country’s first African-American president.” “Senator Obama is already in solid with the Black community,” Jackson pointed out. “He will get 90 percent or more of the Black vote. His big problem will be winning over former Hillary supporters. I’m just suggesting that he’d have a better chance with this demographic as a castrati.” Leslie Bianco, spokesman for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Political Action Committee (PAC) said people...

YOUTUBE PRESENTATION OF WHAT JACKSON WANTS TO DO TO OBAMA TUNE: Carly Simon's ANTICIPATION. Note: This was done as tastefully as we have seen all over the press. Yes, the words came out of the mouth of a man of the cloth. A reverend. The Reverend Jackson. This is almost as good as when he had his pregnant mistress with him for a WH photo-op with Bill Clinton. Imagine, Jesse Jackson was the spiritual advisor helping our impeached rapist president get through the Monica affair.

On one level, it is easy to dismiss the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr.'s crudely worded metaphorical threat to castrate Barack Obama for supposedly talking down to black people as the raving of an increasingly irrelevant, former big shot suffused with resentment at the rising star who pushed him off stage. That, after all, is the sort of talk we'd expect from a lynch mob, not a civil rights leader who does not seem to realize that the times have passed him by. Even his son and namesake, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., agrees that his dad is doing more harm these...

The following "joke" is meant for circulation. Its real purpose is to demonstrate that Barack Obama lacks character along with the courage to act on the values that most of us take for granted (not empowering and enabling racists and anti-Semites, not condoning insults to our Armed Forces). It brings in Michelle Obama deliberately, noting that she has already done and said things that could undermine his campaign. Jesse Jackson Can't Castrate Barack Obama The fact that most of what Obama SAYS is bull does not make him one.Barack Obama lacked the cojones to reject the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan...

None other than the Rev. Al Sharpton has come to Milwaukee. Well, at least his voice is here. Sharpton’s syndicated radio show recently began broadcasting from noon to 3 p.m. weekdays on WMCS-AM (1290). That’s probably welcome news for some in town; for others, not so much. For some Milwaukeeans, Sharpton is part of the unholy trinity — along with Louis Farrakhan and Jesse Jackson — of outspoken black men who never let white America forget its sad racial past. To others, it’s a welcome relief to have a nationally syndicated African-American radio program with a political focus during daytime...
