This is a story which started back in July but is heating up once again in the final week before the midterms. As you may recall, Tedra Cobb is the Democratic candidate hoping to unseat Republican Elise Stefanik in New York’s 21st congressional district. It’s a fairly conservative, upstate region with a long history of Second Amendment support. Unfortunately for Cobb, someone caught her on camera telling her supporters that she would support an “assault weapons” ban if she made it to Washington, but couldn’t say so publicly because it would cost her the election.

Don't worry, be happy, about a caravan of 14,000 people marching toward our southern border. Nothing to fret about. That was Joe Scarborough's line on today's Morning Joe. Trying to shrug off the threat, Scarborough sniffed that the caravan "doesn't really affect" the people concerned about it, and then claimed: "That April caravan, where Trump and Fox News said thousands and thousands of people were invading. Sen. Ron Wyden said Thursday that it appears Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh lied to Congress in 2006 when he testified about when he learned of a post-9/11 surveillance program.
