FORT LAUDERDALE - To the South Florida gay community, Jonathan Bleiweiss was a pioneering, openly gay Broward sheriff's deputy who fought discrimination within that agency earlier in his career. But court documents released Tuesday portray Bleiweiss, 29, as a manipulative sex offender who preyed on illegal immigrants too scared to contact authorities. He would act like a jilted lover when the men would not return his calls or text messages, according to those records, based on victims' accounts.

ROVELAND, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has discovered that Groveland Police recently stopped an off duty Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy for suspicion of driving drunk. Police, however, did not arrest the deputy. Now the Lake County Sheriff’s Office has launched its own internal investigation into the incident. According to a police incident report, Deputy Rodney Blevins was driving on Highway 50 in May when he slammed on his truck brakes in front of Chaos Tattoo Shop. Authorities said a Stark County sheriff's deputy was arrested with his mother after the deputy vomited on people at a Kenny Chesney concert in Fargo and refused to leave. Police Sgt. Mark Lykken said 26-year-old Justin Krohmer and his mother, Susan, whose husband is the Ada, Minn., police chief, were jailed on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer. The 17-year old girl from Shafter had been reported missing, so the deputy was going to take her home. But, he was attacked by her boyfriend,19-year old Manuel Sanchez. According to the report, Sanchez, who's an active marine stationed in San Diego, managed to wrestle away the deputy's gun, but no shots were fired.

PROVO CANYON — A Wasatch County sheriff's sergeant died Thursday morning after collapsing during a routine traffic stop. G. Scott Hathcock, 48, of Heber City, had pulled a car over on U.S. 189 in Provo Canyon and had just stepped to the window of the car to ask for documents when he collapsed, said Summit County sheriff's deputy Josh Wall. Georgetown, Indiana - A 15-year-old boy who had been arguing with his mother opened fire on two sheriff's deputies as they arrived at the family's home Monday, fatally wounding one officer and leaving the other seriously hurt, authorities said.
