Actor Danny DeVito on Sunday called Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders "our Obi Wan," referencing the Jedi master from "Star Wars.""I just hugged the man who shook the hand of the Pope," DeVito said during a campaign rally for Sanders on Sunday when introducing the Vermont senator. (Sanders met the pope over the weekend, after speaking at a conference at the Vatican.) "We are going to go out and vote and put this man on Pennsylvania Avenue. ... While on the scene at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend, Danny DeVito took a moment to comment on the tinderbox subject diversity in the entertainment industry, and the actor-producer didn't mince words at all. Bluntly attributing the lack of diversity in Hollywood and subsequently in awards-recognized films to systemic racism, he said that "it's unfortunate that the entire country is a racist country."

Apparently mob life is inconsistent with family values. Adele Sorella, the wife of reputed Rizzuto associate Giuseppe De Vito, has been convicted for the 2009 murders of their eight- and nine-year-old daughters in Montreal, QB Canada, and she was sentenced to life in prison as reported by Paul Cherry for The Gazette. At the time of the murders Sorella's dirtbag husband was on the lam from drug charges. De Vito finally was apprehended in October 2010, and last June was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for his role in a cocaine smuggling operation through the Pierre Elliott Trudeau International...

DeVito's words were bleeped out after he apparently used some bad language when joking about President Bush, whom he had imitated as a monkey and one of the Three Stooges. He later sat on O'Donnell's lap, and she kissed him on the cheek.

Danny DeVito's disgraceful performance on "The View." the clip shows him referring to the President in terms vulgar enough that they were bleeped out by ABC; what it doesn't show ...were his remarks about having sex with his wife on every surface in the Lincoln Bedroom. Discussing the episode on today's Hugh Hewitt show, the incredibly talented James Lileks made a very perceptive remark about DeVito's comments about the Lincoln Bedroom -- to the effect that DeVito was the type of person who couldn't bear to leave anything undebased. Absolutely true... people like Danny DeVito have always been with us....

According to the website VidClick, actor Danny DeVito made an appearance Wednesday on the ABC gab-gest "The View" to promote his new movie "Deck the Halls." Almost immediately it was obvious he had been drinking and comediane Joy Behar said he had been throwing back the booze the entire night before with none other than George Clooney. At one point he says, "'I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me." How often have that happened to you? If you watch the clip, DeVito does okay until he launches into a tirade about President Bush...
