FULL TITLE: Miami Dolphins owner FORCES players to stand on the field during national anthem - as three refuse and remain in the tunnel Miami Dolphins players were forced by the team owner to stand before Sunday's game when a military band played the national anthem. Stephen Ross, who was an advocate for players protesting in the past during the national anthem, changed his views on the issue after comments President Donald Trump made saying players should be fired and referred to them collectively as 'son of a b***h.' Before the team's game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Ross...

And if Thomas and others follow the lead of their peers on the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens last week at Wembley, after kneeling during their country’s anthem, they will stand and show respect for the British anthem. Americans showing more respect for a foreign country’s anthem than their own. The very idea feels like a betrayal to the USA.

The Miami Dolphins are also part of the unpatriotic movement started by Colin Kaepernick that involves refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem. However, they are all starting to feel the consequences of their actions, with the Florida sheriffs office announcing that they will not be escorting the Dolphins to their games unless they stop with the disrespectful behavior. The local Miami police union supported the decision of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and will not be doing any escorting either, reports The Sports Hall. President of the International Union of Police Associations, Jeffrey Bell said, “I respect...

Beefore coaxing veteran quarterback Jay Cutler out of retirement this weekend, the Miami Dolphins reportedly considered a number of other options after starter Ryan Tannehill re-injured his left knee during practice last week. One of those options was Tim Tebow, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. It actually kind of makes sense. Cutler is seen as a natural choice for Miami coach Adam Gase, who was Cutler’s offensive coordinator in Chicago during the 2015 season. That ended up being one of Cutler’s best statistical years — he threw for 3,659 yards while completing 64.4% of his passes with...

In what can only be described as a youngster doing the 'puff, puff, pass', West Australian dolphins may be using blowfish - or 'blowies' - to get high, scientists have found. Murdoch University researcher Krista Nicholson, who monitors dolphins occupying the Peel-Harvey coastal waters off Mandurah, said there were several records of them interacting with blowfish in estuaries and coastal waters around the world. The young dolphin Huubster tosses a blowfish in the air. Often dismissed as bird-brains, chickens are showing they’ve got some smartsAs we get ready to launch ourselves into the Year of the Rooster, here’s news that could give you new respect for the humble chicken. Researchers have determined that chickens are smarter than we think, have a good measure of self-control, and might even have Machiavellian tendencies. A study published this week in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Animal Cognition, revealed that those bird-brained chickens are actually pretty smart, as most backyard chicken farmers have long maintained. Neuroscientist Lori Marino authored the paper, which compiled the conclusions of several studies showing...

DUMPING DOLPHINS I have to say, after the pathetic display by the Miami Dolphins yesterday - and I'm not just talking about their usual pathetic play on the field, but rather, the silly seated protest during the national anthem - I am sad to say, the time may have come to finally hang up my fins. To be completely fair, I must confess, I actually stopped watching professional football almost two decades ago... Don't get me wrong, I am still a longtime Dolphin fan... It's just they haven't played professional football since 2002. I remember the golden days of the...

Fellow FReepers, like many of you, I was appalled today at the disrespect for the national anthem of this country which was displayed by some NFL players on some teams. I would like to create a list of all NFL teams, along with what their players did during the playing of the national anthem before each NFL game this week. My team is the Miami Dolphins, and to my dismay, 4 Dolphins players (Arian Foster, Jelani Jenkins, Michael Thomas, and Kenny Stills) took a knee and refused to stand at attention during the playing of our national anthem before the...

Brent Grimes' wife, Miko Grimes, is back to ripping the Dolphins — this time in a series of nasty tweets that included an anti-Semitic message targeted at Miami owner Stephen Ross. The Dolphins cut Grimes back in March, perhaps partially because of the actions of and criticisms coming from the cornerback's wife. The Bucs signed him shortly thereafter.

Two Franciscana dolphins were ripped from the waves near an Argentinan resort last week, then manhandled to shore, where they were passed around a clutching mob seeking cute selfie moments. In the process, at least one of the intelligent, playful cetaceans died from the experience. Franciscana, or La Plata, dolphins are unable to spend as long out of the water as their larger brethren. “At least one of these dolphins suffered a horrific, traumatic and utterly unnecessary death, for the sake of a few photographs,†a spokesperson from the World Animal Protection group told ABC in Australia, condemning the despicable...

After 12 weeks of the NFL season, the New England Patriots are still the heavy favorite to win the Super Bowl. Using Nate Silver's "2015 NFL Predictions," a model that rates each team and then projects how the regular season and playoffs will play out, we can get a better sense of which teams are the true Super Bowl contenders. Heading into Week 13, the New England Patriots are still the favorite with a 28% chance to win the Super Bowl, down from 33% a week ago. The Carolina Panthers (20%) are the favorite in the NFC. In fact, according...

'I've never seen this before': How a family outing took 'totally bizarre' turn after dolphin lands in boat, breaks woman's ankles. For a few moments, it was pure bliss as dolphins swam alongside the Frickman family’s small boat, leaping toward the sky and doing flips. The Frickman family had been enjoying a sunny afternoon June 21 – the first day of summer, Father’s Day and also Dirk and Chrissie Frickman’s 18th wedding anniversary – when they came across the pod of dolphins as they were heading back to the Dana Point Harbor. Tristan, 12, and Courtney, 16, edged toward the...
