TNN, The Times of India ^ | Saturday, December 3, 2016 | Devika Bhattacharya
New Delhi: A petition urging the Electoral College to reject Donald Trump as the next President of the United States has become the most popular in the history of Change.org, a site that mobilizes support for petitions through e-signatures. Over 4.6 million people have signed the petition titled "Make Hillary Clinton President", which calls on the Electoral College to elect the Democratic presidential candidate over Trump when it officially votes on December 19. The petition argues that since Clinton won the popular vote in the November 8 election by a margin of 2 million ballots, she should be the President....
  • Trump already winning — and he’s not even president yet

    12/01/2016 7:17:06 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 23 replies
Donald Trump has come a long way from the “disarray” and “chaos” the media claimed to spy before his transition even got started. Such a long way that it’s fair to say that Trump is having just about the best 24 hours a president-elect could have. Two A-plus moves — the deal with Carrier to keep 1,000 jobs in Indiana instead of moving them to Mexico, and getting crime-busting US Attorney Preet Bharara to stay on — keep faith with the populist themes of Trump’s campaign. He pledged to stand up for workers and stop manufacturing jobs from leaving America....
  • Bharara accepts Trump’s offer to ‘stay on’ as US attorney

There’s going to be the same old “sheriff” in this town. Preet Bharara, The gungho federal prosecutor has agreed to “stay on” as Manhattan U.S. Attorney after President-elect Donald Trump offered him the gig during a meeting Wednesday afternoon at Trump Tower in Midtown. “We had a good meeting. I agreed to stay on. I have already spoken to Senator Sessions, who is as you know is the nominee to be the attorney general. He also asked that I stay on, and so I expect that I will be continuing to work at the southern district,” Bharara confirmed to a...
  • Lindsey Graham To Donald Trump: Prove Voter Fraud Or Be Quiet

    11/30/2016 8:54:11 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 103 replies
WASHINGTON ― One of Donald Trump’s fiercest Republican critics, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, said Tuesday that the president-elect should either provide evidence of his claims that millions of people voted illegally or stop spreading a false message. “I don’t know what [Trump] is talking about,” Graham told The Huffington Post. “If he has evidence, bring it forward. If he doesn’t, he shouldn’t say things like that.” Graham said he plans to introduce a bipartisan resolution in the Senate to show confidence in the integrity of the 2016 elections. “I want people to believe — at least, the Senate...
  • Kushner depicted as Trump’s ‘campaign savior’ in new profile

    11/22/2016 1:38:56 PM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 25 replies
Jared Kushner was hardly a household name outside the rarefied world of Manhattan’s moneyed elite when his father-in-law, Donald Trump, began his quixotic presidential campaign. But by Election Day, he emerged as “Donald Trump’s campaign savior” through his connections to tech giants from Silicon Valley and savvy use of social media that they taught him, a new profile revealed Tuesday. “And he did so in a manner that will change the way future elections will be won and lost. The traditional campaign is dead, another victim of the unfiltered democracy of the Web — and Kushner, more than anyone not...
  • TV reporter fired after writing Facebook post praising Trump

    11/18/2016 12:50:53 PM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 39 replies
A Texas television reporter is out of a job after she criticized President Obama and praised President-elect Donald Trump on her personal Facebook page — claiming the country went “downhill” under the outgoing commander-in-chief. Scarlett Fakhar said she was recently canned from her local news gig at Fox in Houston for posting last week that she was “happy and relieved” over Trump’s unexpected White House win. Fakhar had said in the post, which has since been deleted, that Obama made the “entire county hate one another” and claimed God “had a hand” in the election. She also said she could...
  • Sanders: If Trump has the 'guts' to take on corporate America, he's got an ally

    11/18/2016 9:25:13 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 47 replies
(CNN)President-elect Donald Trump will find himself with an unlikely ally if he makes good on his promise to be an economic populist challenging corporate America, Bernie Sanders said Thursday. "If Mr. Trump has the guts to stand up to those corporations," said the former Democratic presidential candidate, "he will have an ally with me." The willingness on the part of Sanders, a longtime democratic socialist, to work with Trump on a series of economic issues underscores the unorthodox and strikingly populist message that Trump used during his stunning victory over Hillary Clinton. Sanders, speaking with reporters at a Christian Science...
  • Whoa: Mitt Romney to meet with Trump about possible cabinet position

    11/17/2016 12:02:23 PM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 98 replies
Reaaaaaaaally smart move by Trump. Although I wonder how much trouble he might be having in staffing up if he’s reaching out to Trumpers’ least favorite Republican for a job. NEWS from @PrestonCNN –Trump meeting with Mitt Romney this weekend to discuss governing and possible Cabinet post #2016 — Deirdre Walsh (@deirdrewalshcnn) November 17, 2016 Could be that this is just symbolic outreach to his critics in the GOP, as today’s meeting with Nikki Haley probably is, and nothing more will come of it. Even if so, that’s smart. Building goodwill among traditional Republicans will buy him a unified party...
  • Democrats hope Trump meets his match in Schumer

    11/17/2016 7:03:35 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 63 replies
Washington (CNN)The battle for America's political soul could come down to a street brawl between two boys from Queens and Brooklyn. Donald Trump and Chuck Schumer are spoiling for a clash once the President-elect takes office next year and the new Democratic Senate minority leader gets his hands on his caucus after winning election on Wednesday. Schumer had hoped to be directing a Senate majority to implement Hillary Clinton's agenda, but the stunning upset in last week's election means he is the lone hope for Democrats as they resist an unexpected Republican presidency and GOP dominance on Capitol Hill. "Chuck...
  • Obama says most agree with his world view, despite voting Trump

    11/15/2016 8:37:50 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 50 replies
WASHINGTON – President Obama argued Tuesday that most Americans “agreed with my world view” even though Donald Trump — whom he reviled during the campaign — won the presidency. “I think the policies we put forward were the right ones,” Obama told reporters in joint press conference in Athens with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. “The country is indisputably better off. Those folks who voted for the President-elect are better off than they were when I came into office for the most part. But we’ll see whether those facts affect people’s calculations in the next election.” Without addressing Hillary Clinton’s...
  • Confirmed: Donald Trump Says He Will Take $1 Salary as President

    11/14/2016 7:08:36 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 23 replies
The answer is no,” he said, when asked about his campaign trail promise by CBS interviewer Lesley Stahl. “I think I have to take by law one dollar so I’ll take one dollar a year.” He admitted that he didn’t even know what the salary was, but when he was told it was $400,000 salary he declined it. “I’m not taking it,” he said. He added that he would not be taking too many vacations either. “There’s so much work to be done and I want to get it done for the people,” he said. “I want to get it...
  • Log Cabin Republicans: We’re In Contact With Trump Transition Team, Will Protect LGBT Rights

    11/11/2016 11:16:56 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 43 replies
In a fundraising email to supporters Thursday night, Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo (above) claimed his group — and only his group — can save the LGBT community from President-elect Donald Trump. Trump has pledged to repeal all of President Barack Obama’s executive orders, including those protecting LGBT people. He’s vowed to appoint right-wing Supreme Court justices who could at least partially overturn marriage equality and said he’d sign the horrific anti-LGBT “First Amendment Defense Act.” Both Trump’s transition team and his leaked list of potential cabinet appointees are packed with anti-LGBT extremists in the mold of Vice...
  • Wealthy Trump Tower residents are fed up with protesters

    11/11/2016 7:18:24 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 64 replies
It’s not so easy being a member of the 1 percent if you live at Trump Tower. Residents of the sleek Fifth Avenue skyscraper where Trump lives in the penthouse, based his TV show “The Apprentice” and launched his candidacy are having a hard time getting in and out of the building thanks to crowds of supporters, protesters and security. “They can’t get into their own homes without being stopped and frisked and having to show ID,” said a top broker who is already fielding calls from residents planning to move out. “These are wealthy people. They don’t need this,...
  • It got a lot harder to book a shrink in NYC after Trump’s win

    11/10/2016 9:30:14 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 22 replies
President-elect Donald Trump is driving New Yorkers crazy. Anxiety is so high in the Big Apple following Trump’s astonishing presidential win, that patients are rushing to their therapists to book emergency therapy sessions. Dr. Chloe Carmichael, a clinical psychologist and stress management expert based in Manhattan, said she was already swamped at 7 a.m. Wednesday helping her clients navigate their emotions surrounding the election’s results. “It was something that came up immediately,” she told The Post. And it wasn’t just Carmichael’s existing patients who needed someone to talk to about the 2016 race. “We did get a couple of calls...
  • Amid whispers about her future, Pelosi says Democrats are willing to work with Trump

    11/10/2016 8:26:50 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 41 replies
A day after a disastrous electoral showing, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats they have a “responsibility to find common ground” with President-elect Donald Trump and that she was prepared to work with him on an infrastructure bill, indicating that Democratic leaders do not plan to pursue a strategy of reflexive opposition to Trump’s agenda. “We’re not starting a campaign against the Republicans right now,” Pelosi said on a Wednesday afternoon conference call with members, according to a Democratic aide on the call. “We want to work together. But I do hope that that political dynamic will give...

I need to vent. I got rid of facebook last night because my leftist friends where unhinged about Trump. Trump is going to take away all rights from gays, ashamed of our county, how dare anybody vote for him, they all leaving the county and etc. This is worse then when Bush was in office. In the end Trump won they need to get over it. I did not even respond to anybody because it would have been a bloodbath of friends lost. Anybody else experience this on facebook?
  • This insanely accurate model is still predicting a Trump victory

    11/08/2016 7:06:14 AM PST · by ChicagoConservative27 · 22 replies
It’s not just the presidency that’s at stake in the election — but also bragging rights for two prognosticators that are almost always right. This year, one of them is absolutely certain Donald Trump will be living in the White House, while the other is just as sure that Hillary Clinton can’t lose. Moody’s Analytics, which has picked the next president every year since 1980, says Clinton will make history as the first female chief executive, trouncing Trump with 332 electoral votes. That runs in sharp contrast to a model created by Helmut Norpoth, a political science professor at Stony...
  • Russia: Either Clinton gets the presidency, or she goes to jail

Russian state-owned media does little to hide its preferences in the U.S. presidential election. News reports about the race for the White House on Russian television devote most of their time to elaborating on Donald Trump’s allegations that Hillary Clinton is corrupt and the election is rigged. On his Sunday program, pro-Kremlin journalist Dmitry Kiselyov said, "Clinton has a choice. Either she gets the presidency or she goes behind bars." Kiselyov also told viewers that Clinton is backed by US security services and the media - unlike "anti-establishment" Trump. State-controlled Kremlin TV channels also highlight concerns about Clinton's health and...

"Who is Donald Trump?" The better question may be, "What is Donald Trump?" The answer? A giant middle finger from average Americans to the political and media establishment. Some Trump supporters are like the 60s white girls who dated black guys just to annoy their parents. But most Trump supporters have simply had it with the Demo-socialists and the "Republicans In Name Only." They knew there wasn't a dime's worth of difference between Hillary Rodham and Jeb Bush, and only a few cents worth between Rodham and the other GOP candidates. Ben Carson was not an "establishment" candidate, but the...
  • GOP Slams Trump: Not Accepting Election Results Would Be 'Beyond the Pale'

    10/20/2016 9:17:11 AM PDT · by ChicagoConservative27 · 143 replies
Donald Trump's stunning refusal to say whether he will accept the outcome of the presidential election has created chasms in an already fractured Republican Party. When asked during Wednesday's final presidential debate whether he would accept the results of an election that he has repeatedly claimed is "rigged," Trump replied that he would "keep you in suspense." "I will look at it at the time. I'm not looking at anything now. I'll look at it at the time," Trump told moderator Fox News' Chris Wallace.
