July 4, 2015Donald Trump and 2015 / 2016 Considerations… by sundance Make no mistake about it, Donald Trump can win the GOP nomination and the White House in 2016 – But it will take a herculean amount of support from ordinary Americans to do it. Like many others, I initially found myself doubtful that Donald Trump was going to actually mount a campaign. Now however, I’m increasingly and cautiously -even happily- optimistic he does actually intend to win the nomination. However, it’s going to take a huge amount of support from the body electorate to help Trump withstand what is...

Donald Trump didn’t make any comments about “Mexican-Americans,” he made them about illegal aliens. Which makes it quite clear Romney believes Mexican illegal aliens have a right to be here and have a right to citizenship and voting, and indeed already are Americans, hyphenated in his speech as “Mexican-Americans,” like the term “African Americans.” The only other possibility is that Romney’s such a lowlife he’s knowingly and intentionally lying about what Trump said when he claims Trump was talking about “Mexican-Americans,” in order to make it look like Trump was criticizing ALL Mexicans in the U.S. In other words, Romney...

The horrific murder of a pretty young woman by an illegal alien at a prime tourist location in San Francisco is validating the argument of Donald Trump on the influx of violent criminals, and causing at least some local media reflection in arguably the nation’s most politically correct city. This morning edition of the San Francisco Chronicle website (which reflects the newspaper’s front page to some extent) gives prominent placement to Trump’s contention that the murder of Kathryn Steinle shows that he’s right. And the digital-only SFGate site gives him even more prominent play, using an unflattering picture. update:...

Indomitable Donald Trump, the pompously outspoken American business mogul, investor, and television personality who recently announced his bid for the 2016 presidential race candidate has finally met his waterloo, and it was not about Barack Obama. His bigmouth has finally landed him in a provocative political terrain – trouncing a presidential ambition that has only been announced. Trump, a Republican presidential entrant was announcing his readiness last month when he made some horrible remarks about Mexicans. His comments were obviously offensive. He said in part that “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that...

Media Matters is a 501(c)(3), and the lawful restrictions on its political activities are listed above. I’m sure a check of Carusone’s IP addresses will confirm that he is using Media Matters’computers while on his paid on-the-clock employee time, and a search of other records will prove he is also using Media Matters’ phones and other resources to run the #DumpTrump campaign, which is illegal, as you can read here at the IRS website. However, if Trump hasn’t yet formally filed, the restriction on “any statements against candidates” may not apply. But if they do, Trump should sue. Excerpted from...

"We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." – George Orwell Despite all the gnashing of teeth from the Left over Donald Trump’s comments about illegal aliens and liberals’ deliberate attempts to distort what he said, his controversial comments about Mexico are absolutely correct. "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. …They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." Despite attempts to...

Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter used her signature sarcasm on Twitter to proclaim herself and Donald Trump right about America’s illegal immigration problem after a young woman was killed by an illegal who had been deported five times. Her comments came after reports on Friday that the suspect, Francisco Sanchez, had already been deported five times before he shot and killed Kathryn Steinle, 32, as she walked along the San Francisco waterfront with her father Wednesday. San Francisco authorities ignored requests from immigration officials to turn him over after they arrested him months ago on drug charges and subsequently released him.

Slowly but surely, some of Donald Trump‘s Republican rivals have come out to condemn his remarks about Mexican immigrant rapists and criminals. George Pataki got the ball rolling this week, and criticisms by Rick Perry, Marco Rubio, and others followed. But Ted Cruz––who defended Trump earlier this week––is still praising him. In a Meet the Press preview clip out tonight, Cruz told Chuck Todd,”I like Donald Trump. He’s bold, he’s brash.” He refused to get caught in a bout of Republican infighting. When Todd asked him if “rhetoric matters,” Cruz said, “I salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need...

This week, a new CNN survey showed that despite the national outrage over the Confederate flag, a majority of Americans view it as “a symbol of Southern pride” rather than a “symbol of racism.” The poll results contrasted sharply with CNN’s editorial approach to the flag, which had been to inflame public opinion around the issue. Much the same is happening with Donald Trump, the billionaire Republican running for president: the media hate him, but he is surging in GOP polls. The left has a convenient, and false, explanation for all of this: America is racist, and the Republican Party...

NASCAR is the latest corporation to distance itself from Donald Trump. On the same day one of its top sponsors called on NASCAR to take a stance against Trump, the motorsports series said it will not hold its season-ending awards ceremony at the Trump National Doral Miami. "We looked at everything we saw coming down and what we heard from our sponsors and our partners and what we feel we should be doing, and that's what led us to the decision today," NASCAR spokesman David Higdon said Friday at Daytona International Speedway. Trump's spokesman, Hope Hicks, declined to comment to...

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Donald Trump reignited the call to secure U.S. borders just hours after federal officials said the man arrested in the shooting death of a San Francisco woman was an undocumented immigrant who had previously been deported five times. CBS San Francisco reached out the Donald Trump presidential campaign who then released this written statement: Link to full story: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2015/07/03/donald-trump-pledges-to-secure-our-border-following-san-francisco-pier-14-fatal-shooting-immigration-tourist/

When Donald Trump announced for President, he made some strong statements about the immigration problems facing our nation. He said that Mexico was "bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some, I assume, are good people." In essence, Trump noted that Mexico was not sending their scientists and scholars to America. In his speech, he mentioned the while immigrants are taking jobs in this country; corporations like Ford are setting up plants in Mexico. To deal with the crisis, Trump vowed to build a border fence and have Mexico pay for it. This kind of tough talk resonated with...

Interesting that he went after Trump for what he said about Mexicans on the same day that he criticized the GOP more broadly for having given up on the black vote. Everyone expected him to run this time on his jobs record but yesterday’s comments were the biggest splash he’s made as a candidate so far.I don’t mean to be cynical about it — these are his heartfelt positions, I’m sure, and good for him — but his choice of topic is probably at least partly a function of his standing in the race. The top-tier candidates like Bush,...

The mainstream media is descending on The Donald like buzzards on carrion—and their instincts for a fresh kill are rarely wrong. But don’t discount Donald Trump. Erick Erickson offered sage advice for the tempestuous-tempered billionaire-cum-politician to stay on offense, but I expect that Trump will rebound very soon. The “stay on offense” advice works best for politicians, but Donald Trump isn’t one. He’s a unique personality that cuts through American culture like a chainsaw—rough, noisy, and with lots of flying pieces. Trump’s at his best when he’s talking, and fortunately for him, it’s probably his favorite pastime, other than writing...

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has once again come in for a barrage of criticism as a result of his comments about immigration into the United States. This time Trump has latched onto the tragic murder of tourist Kate Steinle who was shot and killed Wednesday at Pier 14 in San Francisco. Trump used the announcement of his presidential campaign to brand Mexican immigrants as “Criminals, drug runners and rapists.” Trump’s comments have been widely criticized as xenophobic and have led to his being dropped by NBC and Nascar amongst others.
