  • U.S. sees Russia readying ground campaign in Syria

The latest U.S. assessment of Moscow's activity in western Syria indicates Russia has moved several ground combat weapons and troops into the area to potentially back up Syrian forces in the field planning to attack anti-regime forces, according to two U.S. defense officials. The U.S. views the move as Russia "stepping up its ground activity" in Syria to attack those forces, rather than ISIS elements, according to one of the officials. It's believed the Russians are positioning the weapons to be able to support a Syrian ground offensive, the officials said. The equipment includes several piece of artillery, as well...
  • Drive-By Narrative: Trump to Drop Out When He Falls in the Polls

RUSH: The Drive-By Media's got it in its head that it's over, Trump's finished, and he's gonna drop out at some point. Even though he's still leading in every poll, they've assumed a position here that there is an inevitability to Trump dropping out. It's just gonna happen. They thought it would happen by now. They've tried to make it happen by now and before today, but it hasn't. So they're just assuming that it hasn't happened, and that has become the narrative surrounding the Trump campaign. In fact, they're even getting Trump to talk about it. You know, Trump...

The 2016 election year is almost upon us, and Americans of all stripes are preparing for a drawn out political season. Republicans and Democrats will be going to the polls in droves to select their parties’ nominees—and eventually to select the nation’s most powerful political figure. With so much on the line, the integrity of the electoral system must be ensured. Voters have to be confident that the results reflect the will of the people, or the whole democratic system is undermined.
  • Gun control group wants Oregon sheriff fired

A prominent gun control advocate is calling for the resignation of the Oregon sheriff leading the investigation into the recent shooting who he labeled a pro-gun “conspiracy theorist.” Douglas County sheriff John Hanlin ruffled feathers with gun control groups after it came to light that he sent Vice President Joe Biden a letter in January 2013 threatening not to enforce stronger gun laws. According to reports, Hanlin also posted a conspiracy video on his Facebook page suggesting the government was behind the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting as well as the 9/11 terrorist attacks in a coordinated effort to “disarm...
  • White House: Obama Preparing More Executive Actions on Gun Control

    Breitbart ^ | 10-5-2015 | Charlie Spiering
The White House confirmed that President Obama was preparing a series of executive actions on gun control to match his recent passion on the issue after the latest mass shooting in Oregon. “It’s a high priority and will continue to be until we start to see more progress on this issue in this town,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters today at the press briefing. Earnest said he would “quibble” with anyone who criticized the president for not voicing any specific gun control proposals during his press conference, asserting that the White House was working behind the scenes...

A Senate candidate in Florida is coming under fire for participating in pagan rituals involving the slaughter of a goat and the drinking of its blood, according to local news reports. Augustus Sol Invictus, who is running as a Libertarian in Florida, “killed a goat and drank its blood” two years ago as part of a pagan ritual that took place in the Mojave Desert, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Invictus, who stands accused of “brutally and sadistically” dismembering a goat, also has faced criticism for “trying to recruit neo-Nazis” into the Libertarian Party, according to the report. “I did sacrifice a...
  • Boehner postpones votes for House majority leader, whip positions

Speaker John Boehner postponed the election of majority leader and majority whip until next month, a blow to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) who announced Sunday night he had the votes to win the race. The House Republican Conference will still choose its nominee for speaker of the House Thursday, and the full chamber will vote on the next speaker on Oct. 29. This could help take some of the pressure off House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the favorite to replace Boehner. The delay gives more time for conservatives to find a candidate to run against Scalise and Georgia Rep....
  • Where Are The Million New Manufacturing Jobs Obama Promised?

Factory Jobs: The anemic September jobs report was bad news for anyone hoping that the economy had turned a corner. But it was even worse news for manufacturing, which is on a two-month losing streak. Manufacturing shed 9,000 jobs last month on top of the 18,000 lost in August, completely erasing the gains made so far this year. Since January 2013, the industry has gained only 338,000. All this flies in the face of President Obama's repeated promise in 2012 that if reelected, he would create 1 million new manufacturing jobs by the end of his second term. Obama said...
  • Former DOJ Head Michael Mukasey Hits Obama’s DOJ Voting Section

He attacks Obama's co-opting of the DOJ for the advancement of leftism, not justice. Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey delivered a sharp criticism of the Obama Justice Department, particularly the DOJ Voting Section, in a speech republished in Hillsdale College’s Imprimis . In a broadside aimed at the Obama-era DOJ, Mukasey hits the department’s biased and partisan law enforcement policies. Mukasey’s speech should be required reading for every presidential campaign. Mukasey revisits the dismissal of the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party by Eric Holder and other political appointees shortly after the 2009 inauguration: During the 2008...
  • Video: Judge Nap Says Hillary Is Angry Because the 'Legal Noose Is Tightening'

The legal noose around Hillary Clinton is getting tighter, Judge Andrew Napolitano explained this morning on "America's Newsroom." On NBC's "TODAY" show, the former secretary of state appeared angry when asked about the House Benghazi Committee, arguing that the panel is conducting a "partisan political" investigation. When asked about her private email server, she said that what she did was "allowed" even though it wasn't the "best choice." Clinton said each government official can determine which messages are personal and which ones are work-related. Napolitano said the "noose" is tightening and that Clinton created these problems for herself. He said...
  • Carly Fiorina's charity has given half a million dollars to Planned Parenthood since 2011

Nothing has defined Carly Forina's presidential campaign quite like her outspoken opposition to Planned Parenthood — a point she has brought up repeatedly at debates and press conferences. It might seem odd, then, that her Fiorina Foundation has given half a million dollars to Planned Parenthood since 2011. The Fiorina Foundation isn't actually, legally, a foundation, per se; it's an account Fiorina and her husband hold with The Ayco Charitable Foundation, a "donor-advised fund" that stashes charitable donations for clients in case they want to quickly receive tax benefits, The Daily Beast explains. One expert on the topic described it...

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton threatened Monday to use unilaterally implement a new gun control plan if Congress does not pass her measures. Her push for further gun control measures comes in the wake of the tragic shooting at a community college campus in Oregon last week. The campaign platform includes a call for federal legislation mandating background checks on all private firearms transfers and sales. Clinton also wants to repeal the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.”

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said Monday morning that he is putting a hold on three of President Obama’s ambassadorial nominees until the administration shows it is taking steps to punish Secret Service staff involved in leaking unflattering information about a lawmaker. “This was apparently a violation of law, and absolutely shocking conduct,” Cotton said in an interview. “The executive branch all the way up to the West Wing needs to treat this with the seriousness it requires.” Cotton called on Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to “personally attend” to disciplining top Secret Service leaders — specifically including new Director Joseph...

That's my prediction for 2016 in a nutshell. We have two extremes in our politics today. On the right are furious populists, on the left socialist misfits. Neither represent a majority. As always, the center is the key. Kasich and Rubio are mainstream conservatives. Kasich's record and Rubio's rhetoric line up quite nicely. Either of them will have natural appeal to the center, where elections are won. The other plausible candidate, Ted Cruz, is essentially a mainstream conservative. If he is extreme it’s because of his style and the measures he advocates, not the outcomes he seeks. The Church Lady...

Back when Ohio Governor John Kasich first announced his presidential bid I asked a number of questions regarding his candidacy. While understanding that he likely had a greater chance of carrying Ohio – still important – there seemed to be two big arguments against him. First, he didn’t seem to be taking up a very different lane than some of the other establishment candidates in the race who also had gubernatorial experience and fairly standard, mainstream party positions. Second, he had obvious hits on his track record, including a budget which raised taxes on tobacco and energy as well...

David Jaques, the publisher of the conservative newspaper the Roseburg Beacon, says he believes that President Obama would not be welcome to the town after making remarks politicizing the shooting that left nine dead and nine injured at Umpqua Community College on October 1. Jaques told Breitbart News that he believes officials of Douglas County would also not welcome the President using the tragedy to score political points for a gun control agenda. Any visit by President would be “a campaign stop for agenda to take away American citizen’s right to own firearms” said Jaques in an exclusive interview.

TODAY IN THE GRANITE STATE: Less than one week after the deadly shooting at the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, Hillary Clinton is set to propose a series of gun control measures she would enact if elected president, ABC's LIZ KREUTZ reports. Clinton's plan, which she plans to unveil at campaign events in New Hampshire today, comes two days after the Democratic presidential candidate blasted Republicans for putting "the NRA ahead of American families," and just hours after her Democratic challenger, Martin O'Malley, called on both Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to back his plan to reduce gun...

Planned Parenthood and its allies have offered a bizarre defense against Carly Fiorina’s recent comments in which she describes “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, ‘We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’” They say that the living baby seen in the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) video (at the 6-min mark), aborted at 18 weeks and left to die in a stainless steel bowl, is not the baby whose brain was harvested in a PP clinic. No, they cut open the face of a different baby to...
