It sure looks like Democrats are trying to steal a U.S. Senate election in Florida. First, some background on what's happening from Matt: Something odd is occurring in Florida’s Senate race. Republican Gov. Rick Scott has declared victory over incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson. At the time, Scott led Nelson by a little over 34,500 votes. It’s now been cut to around 18,000. We’re heading into recount territory, as Scott’s lead has dwindled to 0.2 percent; less than half of one percent triggers an automatic recount. Yet, in two Democratic bastions—Palm Beach and Broward counties—they’re taking their sweet time counting...

Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is warning that the fate of his state’s governorship could hang in the hands of Florida’s Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes, whom he’s called incompetent for violating state and federal laws. A liberal candidate similarly painted her as incompetent and corrupt. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum initially conceded the Florida race to Republican Ron DeSantis, but backtracked after vote totals changed Thursday, narrowing the gap to less than half a percent in both the gubernatorial and senatorial races. Broward County is often the slowest of the state’s 67 counties to count votes, and...

Florida Republican Governor Rick Scott, who is involved in a tight contest with incumbent Democratic US Senator Bill Nelson for one of the state's US Senate seat, made claims on Thursday that officials in two Florida counties are tampering with election results. Scott, using his authority as governor, got involved in his own race by ordering law enforcement officials to investigate board of election actions in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Scott's US Senate campaign, along with the Republican Senate campaign arm, filed a lawsuit claiming that election officials in Broward County are refusing to release public records. “Every Floridian...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Why do we have to be this crazy? – Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is “back up and working” according to a relative after taking a fall and breaking three ribs early Thursday morning. That’s good news for the 85 year-old Ginsburg, and something every thinking American should be happy about. But of course, that’s never the case on social media, where some right-wing idiots responded to the news that she was in the hospital with glee over the prospect of yet another Supreme Court nomination for President Donald Trump. C’mon,...

This new tranche of ballots triggered a mandatory machine recount in the governor’s race and a hand recount in the U.S. Senate race. UPDATE #2:...

FULL TITLE: Rick Scott files suit accusing Dem officials in Florida of 'trying to steal the election' after his narrow Senate victory, while a mystery ballot box is found two DAYS after the vote... and Trump wades in Florida Governor and Senator elect Rick Scott, unleashed lawsuits against a Broward County and Palm Beach County while accusing Democrats of trying to steal the election. • Broward County has finished counting ballots (except for military and provisional) Twitter only

Shortly after President Trump and Rick Scott announced that law enforcement was taking action in Broward and other counties, Election supervisor Dr. Snipes has announced they are done counting votes (except for military and provisional). This is nearly 2 days after every other major city in the country (not in mountainous areas) have finished counting votes. An odd situation considering that Rick Scott as governor had the authority to remove Dr. Snipes after a judge found her guilty of illegally destroying ballots years ago. Unfortunately the weak governor Scott feared the optics at the time, and only appointed election watchers...

Georgia gov, Florida sen, and Arizona sen were all called last night but they are far from over. In Florida, they are heading to a recount and Nelson is slowly gaining votes. In Georgia they are “finding” more votes in Dekalb as we speak to force a runoff where Oprah will campaign nonstop for Abrams. In Arizona, McSally leads by less than 1% and Sinema is also “finding” votes. Anyone have more knowledge on these races?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — With one day left before Election Day, more than 5 million voters have already cast ballots in the battleground state of Florida, and records show Democrats have the edge. New statistics released Monday by the state Division of Elections show that nearly 2.7 million people have voted early, and nearly 2.4 million people have voted by mail. Democrats have cast 2.06 million ballots. Republicans have cast 2.04 million. More than 948,000 voters with no party affiliation have also voted. This year's totals far exceed those of 2014 midterms, but are still short of the 6.6 million who voted ahead of Election Day in 2016. Florida's more than 13 million registered voters are choosing a new governor and voting on a pivotal U.S. Senate contest.

A shooter wounded at least four people at a yoga studio and killed one victim and himself Friday, officials said. The suspect fatally shot himself, city spokeswoman Alison Faris told news outlets. City Manager Reese Goad said four people were wounded. City spokesman Jamie Van Pelt said the shooting appeared to be part of a domestic dispute. At least five people were taken to a hospital. Four are in critical condition, police said Friday night. The gunman and a victim have died, police said.
