TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Suspended Florida State quarterback Wyatt Sexton was doused by pepper spray and taken to a hospital by police after he was found laying in the street and identifying himself as God.

Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden has faced criticism for what he has said or for his decisions during football games. He now is in hot water over something he has written. Last month, Bowden wrote a letter of reference for former FSU running back Michael Gibson, who received six life sentences in 1994 for his attack on a woman in late 1993. The ACC announced Tuesday that a vote for expansion might not occur until later this month, but regardless of the outcome the Big East is going to be proactive about its future and pursue a 16-team league, a source told ESPN.com.
