We now offer the ability for users to add an existing, previously posted thread to a topic or list of topics. This feature will support the migration of the bump list register to topics. This new feature is found via the thread page (posts), in the righthand TOPICS column, and is labelled "Click to Add Topic". Clicking the link will bring up a form, which currently only prompts for a list of comma-separated topics. In the future, this will be a comprehensive topic select screen.

As the world's fifth largest economy, what happens in California matters greatly and makes the race for governor fascinating. Just last week in the primary, a citizen politician and progressive conservative, Bill Simon Jr., trounced former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, who mistakenly thought he had to move the Republican Party to the left to beat a failing liberal governor. Simon's values are conservative, and his forward-looking ideas of reform are progressive, positive and optimistic. Many of California's problems can be laid at the doorstep of Gov. Gray Davis. Simon promises to reform an education system that two-thirds of...

Where is Anette? Have you seen this woman? A search is on to find a Dutch woman in her 40's named Anette. She could be a Norwegian millionaire without knowing it. Have you seen this woman? The photograph being used to try and find the elusive Dutch woman is about 20 years old. Lawyers handling the estate of a former sailor have been forced to use dramatic methods to try and find his only heir. Omar Marthinsen died alone on July 5 last year, 79 years old. He had no contact with his family in Odalen, and no known relatives....

February 20, 2002Lest we forget Run to the grocery store this week and buy the Feb. 25, 2002, issue of People magazine. The cover photo is a special, double-paged layout that you must see. No, it's not a Victoria's Secret model shoot. No, it's not the cast of "Friends" or "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." It's a group picture of mothers and babies -- 31 widows of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and the 32 infant sons and daughters their fathers will never hold. There are lean babies. Chubby babies. Smilers. Criers. Snoozers. A bubbly set of twins. All of them ...

I have created a new FR Bump List called Weasels_List, with the following description:Articles relating to corrupt, illegal, and/or unethical business practices. Examples would be telemarketers, junk faxers, H-1B employers, rip-off artists, spammers, slammers, and various other scammers who seek to undermine American capitalism. We all believe that capitalism is the greatest economic system in the world. And we seek to preserve it. When businesses and their representatives commit illegal and unethical acts in order to make or save a buck, it only gives opponents of capitalism more ammunition. As proponents of the free market, we know that it only ...

I was just informaed by American Perservitive that it was Monaco, NOT Morraco.Needless that error because it was in the lead post resulted in the deletion of that discussion. For that I apologize. The discussion has been about the bump and ping lists and why some people find these lists to be of value. It recived over 15 responses in it's original thread.Unfortunately I did not print out the original article so I can't offhand remember what was said but Nonetheless we will go ahead and continue with this discussion with part 2.Bump for more responses.FREE TED MAHER NOW!!!!

It's a right pain to notify FReepers in another state of an article or event that may interest them. The state-based "My Locale" is great for communicating with others in your state. But to notify someone not in your state, you have to switch your locale, post, then switch your locale back. Or, you could find someone from that state and ask them to post it to their "My Locale." So, I added the 50 states + DC to the FR Bump List Register ( http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/bump-list). So, if you see an article that would be of particular interest to a ...
