The debate over Islamic terrorism has shifted so far from reality that it has now become an argument between the administration, which insists that there is nothing Islamic about ISIS, and critics who contend that a minority of Islamic extremists are the ones causing all the problems. But what makes an Islamic radical, extremist? Where is the line between ordinary Muslim practice and its extremist dark side? It can’t be beheading people in public. Saudi Arabia just did that and was praised for its progressiveness by the UN Secretary General, had flags flown at half-staff in the honor of its...

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Congressman Lee Zeldin, R-NY-1, today sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry asking for information regarding media reports that U.S. taxpayer dollars are being used to fund efforts to influence upcoming elections in Israel. This is from Senator Cruz's press release. “Has President Obama launched a political campaign against Prime Minister Netanyahu and his representatives?” Sen. Cruz asked. “This administration’s relentless harassment of Israel is utterly incomprehensible. The Islamic Republic of Iran is pursuing the deadliest weapons on the planet, and there can be no doubt that their first target will be...

Obama’s version of “tax reform” is unrealistic and firmly rooted in his vision of middle class economics, wealth redistribution Obama has consistently talked about how he is for “tax reform” all during his presidency. But clearly, he has no idea what that even means. True tax reform is a mechanism that produces a cleaner and clearer tax code. A great example of this was the 1986 IRC reform, where Reagan set the highest rate at 28% in exchange for eliminating massive amounts of tax shelters and gimmicks. Obama’s cluelessness on the topic was evident during the State of the Union,...

It has been a long time since we've seen any candidate that truly stood with the Constitution. What we need is another Calvin Coolidge. . . and his name is Scott Walker This writer has already established that Scott Walker is the best candidate to represent the Republican Party for President of the United States. He is fearless, stands on his principles, and in the State of Wisconsin, as governor, he endured attacks by the left and the labor unions that put him in a position to face three elections in four years. . . and Scott Walker prevailed, in...

Canada Free Press highlights the National Defense Briefs that matter.) U.S. State Department officials met Jan. 28, 2015 with the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Benghazi a day after the committee’s chairman, Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), “complained about resistance [from the White House] and vowed to ‘ratchet up’ his inquiry.to schedule interviews with up to 22 potential witnesses who work for the State Department or have knowledge of the...

‘American Sniper’ gives hope that the America we know will win out in the end. “As much as the left would like you to believe it, Chris Kyle was not a bloodthirsty warmonger; he was a noble warrior who fought to defend his fellow troops, watched over the lives of his brothers, and advanced the cause of (eventual) peace. This is where the true success of ‘American Sniper’ comes to light.” – Pete Hyseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans of America and an Iraq combat veteran With the record-shattering success of the Clint Eastwood-directed movie ‘American Sniper’, we are all experiencing...

The American people have been lied to over and over and over again by this President and members of the Democratic party.... Its time for a change If it were not for President Obama and Democrats, would you know that the Taliban is not a terrorist organization but just an “armed insurgency?” The Taliban shotMalala Yousafzai, a 16-year-old Pakistani child advocate for girl’s education, in the face because she simply wanted an education. Then how could we forget the December attack in Pakistan where the Taliban killed 145 people, mostly children in their school uniforms. What about the story of...

The U.S. government suppressed information about chemical weapons it found in Iraq, and several servicemembers were injured by their exposure to those weapons, The New York Times is reporting. In an article published late Tuesday, the newspaper says it found 17 American servicemembers and seven Iraqi police officers who were exposed to mustard or nerve agents after 2003. They were reportedly given inadequate care and told not to talk about what happened. "From 2004 to 2011, American and American-trained Iraqi troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam...

Congressman Matt Salmon from Arizona has filed the Knife Owners Protection Act (KOPA) in the 2015 session of Congress. KOPA would extend to knives the protections afforded to firearm owners in the Firearms Owners Protection Act (FOPA) of 1986. If a person may legally own a knife where he started his travel, and may legally own it where at the end point, he would be protected in possessing it at points in between. From H.R. 419(pdf): (a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding any provision of8 any law or any rule or regulation of the United States,9 or of a State...

Global PUBLIC debt ~$58 TRILLION. Not included: unfunded liabilities. Anyone Qs how this ends? http://t.co/KMWvO8nVVx pic.twitter.com/7XQBYXfI2d — Peter Spina (@goldseek) January 29, 2015 -- The Global Slowdown Is Making Asia's Debt Mountain Even Worse - slides from Morgan Stanley http://t.co/U5LNGZcjcX pic.twitter.com/5OBLMb7XnD — Mike Bird (@Birdyword) January 27, 2015 The Global Slowdown Is Making Asia's Debt Mountain Even Worse Morgan Stanley just came out with a fresh chartbook looking through Asia's debt situation again. It's safe to say that it's still looking grim. While all eyes are on Europe, falling inflation (and the threat of full-blown deflation) are major hazards in...

Jonathan Turley, a legal scholar, constitutionalist and liberal in the old fashioned sense, considers Obama the most anti-Constitution President in recent memory. Excerpts from his prepared testimony on Obama's nominee for Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, are provided below.Note that at the conclusion of his prepared testimony, Mr. Turley argues that in considering a nominee, the Senate should solicit the nominee's views on the department's past behavior and seek firm commitments to reform what needs to be reformed. Based on what I have read of the confirmation hearings, the present nominee's answers have been less than forthcoming and her commitments have been, at best,...

A bill to reduce defenseless victim zones on establishments of higher learning has been introduced in the Texas legislature. It is commonly known as a "campus carry" bill, SB11. SB11 has 19 of 20 Republican senators as authors. They are; Birdwell | Bettencourt | Burton | Campbell | Creighton | Eltife | Estes | Fraser | Hall | Hancock | Huffines | Kolkhorst | Nelson | Nichols | Perry | Schwertner | Seliger | Taylor, Larry | Taylor, Van. There are only 31 senators in the Texas senate, so a majority of senators already agree with the bill. The...

Arthur Koestler (1905-1983)The following excerpt from American Betrayal appears today in slightly edited form at Breitbart News:In his contribution to the famous 1949 collection of essays by ex-Communists titled The God That Failed, Arthur Koestler carefully illustrates how set language binds thought to ideology at the expense of evidence. Koestler, author of the unparalleled novel of Stalin's show trials, Darkness at Noon, describes a conversation he had early in his Communist career with "Edgar," his Party contact, in which they discuss the front page of a Communist newspaper."But every word on the front page is contradicted by the facts," I...

Between a President who lies about global warming, climate change, a Congress composed mostly of lawyers who are clueless about the actual science, the best we can hope for is a Republican Party determined to rein in the EPA I made a promise to myself that I would not write about President Obama’s State of the Union speech because that would require me to watch him deliver it. Like many others I can barely watch him under any circumstance because, to my mind, that means having to watch a psychopathic liar. The problem with that is that he is the...

Syriza, the neo-communist party led by Alexis Tsipras, has won the elections in Greece. The party is a collection of Marxists, Socialists, Maoists, Trotskyites and Greenies. In other words, Syriza is the party of the moochers. They oppose the austerity measures that the troika of the EU, European Central Bank and the IMF imposed on them in exchange for loans. The Greeks, who cheated their way into the EU, are fed up with the austerity measures. They remind me of someone who maxed out his credit card and had to depend on his relatives to save him from bankruptcy. As...

To what extent can political correctness or a misguided sense of obligatory deference contribute to the destruction of this country? Low information voters and others who pride themselves on a lifetime of acquiring something for nothing have no interest in and no appreciation of the rights provided them by the Founders of this Nation or the dangers posed by our enemies. For inseparable from those individual rights is individual responsibility which is anathema to those who cherish entitlement over opportunity. And where do the leaders of our government, from the top on down, stand on the American public mistrusting those...

After an exhaustive eight month investigation, Kathleen Kane, Pennsylvania’s Democrat “Girl Wonder” Attorney General may finally be facing the criminal charges she so richly deserves. A Grand Jury has recommended Kane be indicted for perjury, false swearing, official oppression and obstruction of justice. While these crimes are serious when lodged against an ordinary public servant, they are bombshell quality when brought against a sitting State Attorney General. The charges stem from allegations that Kane leaked Grand Jury confidential memos in an effort to embarrass her Republican political enemies. Among those enemies was Tom Corbett who was the then State AG...

Thursday, July 25, 2013 Muslims are Not a Minority Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog The most persistent myth of the Western Dhimmi narrative is that Muslims are a minority and must receive special protection and accommodation. But Muslims are not a minority. There are 1.5 billion Sunni Muslims worldwide, outweighing Catholics as the next largest religious faction at 1.1 billion and Hindus at 1 billion. They are still a minority of the overall population in Western countries, but a demographically trending majority. In the UK more people attend mosques than the Church of England, that makes...

Millions of Americans are about to get their first taste of the Obamacare tax. Last year the tax penalty for failing to buy private health insurance is $95 or 1% of income, whichever is greater. Because the media hyped the $95 end of the tax, millions of people are unaware that their taxes are more likely to increase far more. The tax increases to $325 or 2% this year, it increases further in 2016. For many taxpayers, it’s going to be a rude awakening when they discover that Obamacare is going to cost them in tax much more than they...
