DELAVAN, Wis. - A shooting inside a home left six people dead, and a child was found in a nearby vehicle with a gunshot to the chest, the Delavan police chief said Sunday.

Authorities said two victims were recovering from gunshot wounds after a shooting at an alleged immigrant smuggling house Tuesday morning. The house was allegedly being used in an illegal immigrant smuggling operation. Houston police and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials responded to the scene at 9011 Sandpiper in southwest Houston around 9 a.m. after residents reported hearing gunshots in the neighborhood. HOLLIS - A local man is in jail after allegedly burglarizing his neighbor’s home and being caught - and held at gunpoint - by the homeowner. Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 25 Maple Knoll Drive shortly after midnight on Monday morning, according to a prepared police statement.
