Monday at a Town Hall in Manchester, NH, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton urged “responsible gun owners,” to form a new gun rights advocacy group, separate from the National Rifle Association (NRA) to “take back the Second Amendment from these extremists.”

HOUSTON, Texas — Yesterday, Gun Owners of America, a premier Second Amendment and gun-rights advocacy organization, endorsed U.S. Senator Ted Cruz for President. In a statement released by Tim Macy, Chairman of GOA, the group lauded Cruz’s consistent record of consistently fighting to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.“Cruz has been a strong advocate for Second Amendment rights as a U.S. Senator, and he will continue to defend our gun rights from the Oval Office,” said Macy. “Ted Cruz has promised gun owners that he will repeal anti-gun Executive Orders that circumvent Congress and veto anti-gun legislation if it...

WATERLOO, Iowa — Campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination Saturday, Gov. Chris Christie said he'll likely pardon several out-of-staters legally permitted to carry their firearms in their home states who have been recently arrested in New Jersey under the Garden State's tough gun laws. Elizabeth J. Griffith, of Daytona Beach, Fla., was arrested by U.S. Park Police on July 14 during a visit to Liberty State Park in Jersey City and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. She could face a ten year prison sentence because her Florida state-issued permit to carry a handgun is not recognized by New...

Some conservatives are criticizing what they say is a media double standard after The Associated Press ran a photo of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) with the picture of a gun in the background pointing directly at his head.

“Imagine the outcry were he a Democrat,” said an editorial at the conservative news website Breitbart. “How many think pieces about violent imagery and responsible reporting would we see? How many more if he were a woman? Keep this in mind for the 2016 campaign. This is the playing field.”

This is just a short clip I found of R. Lee Ermey at the NRA convention (I believe) saying that he’s gonna vote for Ted Cruz: (VIDEO-AT-LINK)If Ted Cruz is good enough for Gunny, then you know he’s right for America.

Chris Christie took a centrist tone on guns Wednesday, calling for the “right balance” between gun control and the Second Amendment. “We’ve got to make sure we have public safety, but on the other hand we have to protect people’s rights both as sportsmen and hunters and for self protection too, find the right balance,” Christie told a group of New Hampshire voters at Chez Vachon in Manchester, according to New Jersey newspaper The Record.

“Our Country is in Crisis … The Answer is Not Going to Come from Washington, It’s Going to Come from You†THE NRA HAS INVADED NASHVILLE, TN … Welcome NRA, its members and all pro-Second Amendment supporters!!!Maybe there was no greater comment made last night by Sen. Ted Cruz than the following, “Our country is in crisis yet we’re gonna pull back and change the path we’re on, but the answer is not going to come from Washington, it’s going to come from you!!!â€Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke to the NRA faithfully in Nashville, Tennessee at their Annual Meeting last...

Every 2016 GOP presidential hopeful except Jeb Bush and New Jersey Chris Christie (R) own guns, and lots of them. Between the “15 noteworthy” contenders there are at least “40 guns” privately owned, and these include Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) .357 Magnum and shotgun, Senator Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) AR-15, former Governor Rick Perry’s (R-TX) “jogging” gun, the revolver Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) says he bought “for protection” in 2010, and Governor Bobby Jindal’s (R) Smith & Wesson .38 Special, among others. Yet according to The Washington Post, pro-illegal immigration candidate Jeb Bush does not own one gun, nor does Governor...

The initiative to ban private sales of firearms in Nevada appears to have more than enough signatures. The Bloomberg backed Nevadans for Background Checks has said that it has turned in 247,000 signatures for verification. 101,667 valid signatures are necessary to send the initiative to the legislature. If the legislature does not enact the initiative into law, then the initiative goes to the voters in 2016. From mohavedailynews.com: Nevadans for Background Checks said it delivered nearly 247,000 signatures to Clark County election officials in North Las Vegas, hours after leaders of a group called the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana...

With all the numbers tallied, out of 251 races, NRA-backed candidates won in 229, over 91 percent of Congressional races in which they endorsed a candidate. According to the Washington Examiner, NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam explained that the Second Amendment group was able to win at this level because individual NRA members were motivated to vote for freedom. He said: "Our members came out in droves and voted for their rights and their freedom. This was one of the most successful election cycles in a decade."

DENVER — Though the GOP takeover swept across the nation on Tuesday, two pro-gun Republican recall winners who helped start the shift of power in Colorado before election season lost their seats in the state Senate Tuesday night, leaving control of that crucial chamber still up for grabs Wednesday morning. If Democrats were to retain their majority in the state Senate, they would not only control that chamber, but the governor’s office, with FOX31 Denver calling that tight race in favor of John Hickenlooper Wednesday morning, and possibly the state House, as well. However, many were surprised to see the...

Gun rights are essentially on the ballot in a number of Governor's races around the country. Among these are the races in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Texas. In all fives of these states, a pro-Second Amendment candidate or incumbent is running against a pro-gun control candidate or incumbent.

While he was early voting on Friday, a Douglasville, Georgia man says he was asked to remove a hat he wears everywhere, one that reads “NRA Instructor,†because poll workers said it was too closely associated with the Republican party.Bundy Cobb, who is certified by the National Rifle Association in firearms training, wears the hat in part to promote his business, True Aim Defense. But poll workers apparently saw it as something different.“I went by the first two ladies, and they didn’t say anything. And then the next lady, she said ‘sir, you’re going to have to take off your...

Dr. Ben Carson, potential contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, has been enjoying near "rock star" status in ostensibly conservative circles. If that continues, "conservatives" had might as well give up trying to cast themselves as representing the "pro-gun" position, because Carson's stance on guns is one that would probably not displease the Brady Campaign. Carson first raised gun owners' hackles in March, 2013, when he blithely told Glenn Beck that the right to own semi-automatic firearms is contingent on where one lives. From Mediate: But when asked whether people should be allowed to own “semi-automatic weapons,” the...

Warning billionaire former mayor and gun control advocate Michael Bloomberg is "not going away," the National Rifle Association is hoping to fire up members to help elect a GOP-controlled Senate. “We fully expect to win a pro-gun Senate in this cycle,†NRA president Jim Porter told the Washington Examiner in an interview published Monday.“It is vital certainly to our issues, but it is vital to the well-being of this country." Porter's remarks came at the start of the NRA's "Great AmericanOutdoor Show." Former NRA head David Keene told the newspaper the group will be spreading the word to supporters about...

Start from the premise that Wendy Davis probably was going to lose the election against Greg Abbott no matter what. But probably wasn’t a sure thing. Abbott never was in Edwin Edwards territory: “The only way I can lose this election is if I’m caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy.” It didn’t help that Davis’s narrative of being a struggling teenage single mom who brought herself up by her bootstraps all the way to Harvard Law School fell apart. Davis always had the base, and maybe if she got lucky, if Republican turnout was...

Texas Democrats have fiercely defended their gubernatorial candidate, Wendy Davis, through a scandal in which the state senator was caught lying about her status as a single mother and about paying for her own education. However, now that Davis is supporting open carry laws, Democrats and gun control groups are shying away.

While 2013 was a year of Second Amendment advocates on defense, 2014 is lining up to be a year of gaining ground on gun rights.

President Obama continues to issue his dictates. Michael R. Bloomberg is still throwing around millions of dollars. And Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is just keeping a finger in the dike on Capitol Hill until the midterms. But the American people are ready to get back to strengthening their rights to keep and bear arms.
