Two more staffers for Breitbart have resigned from the company, citing the website's pro-Donald Trump stance. National security correspondent Jordan Schachtel and associate editor Jarrett Stepman sent their resignations to management on Monday afternoon. "The company no longer resembles the ideals that inspired me to start writing for them three years ago. Some of us have been fighting behind the scenes against the party-line Trump propaganda for some time, but without any success, unfortunately," Schachtel said in a statement. "Breitbart News is no longer a journalistic enterprise, but instead, in my opinion, something resembling an unaffiliated media Super PAC for...

Those two mandarins weren't alone in dismissing Trump's chances. Washington Post blogger Chris Cillizza wrote in July that "Donald Trump is not going to be the Republican presidential nominee in 2016." And numbers guru Nate Silver told readers as recently as November to "stop freaking out" about Trump's poll numbers... Now all these journalists, and more, are coming to grips with their mistaken assessments. And some, too, are freaking out..

The next Republican debate will feature an undercard stage before the main event, the forum's host CNBC said Wednesday, assuaging some of the fears and complaints from lower-tiered presidential campaigns. Candidates polling at an average of 3 percent in the five weeks before the event will make the primetime debate at 8 p.m. EDT Oct. 28. A 2.5 percent average will be rounded up to 3 percent. Candidates with a 1 percent average will appear in a forum at 6 p.m. EDT. The polls being used for the averages are from NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, CNN and Bloomberg released...

David Brock’s war against the New York Times just went nuclear — and the paper is responding with equal fury. Brock, the former right-wing journalist-turned-pro-Clinton crusader, takes aim at a top New York Times editor in a soon-to-be released book obtained by POLITICO. In the book, titled "Killing the Messenger: The Right-Wing Plot to Derail Hillary Clinton and Hijack Your Government,” Brock accuses senior politics editor and former Washington bureau chief Carolyn Ryan of helping to turn the paper into a “megaphone for conservative propaganda” by unfairly targeting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The founder of liberal watchdog groups...

Glenn Beck wants listeners to pray for him. Mark Levin says Fox News is out to get him. Hugh Hewitt calls him an “intellectual leader.” Rush Limbaugh thinks his campaign launch was “masterful.” Laura Ingraham hails him as “Reaganesque.” Erick Erickson considers him a “good friend.” Ted Cruz may be trailing in the polls and strapped for cash, but the first declared candidate of the 2016 race is winning in at least one key contest — the conservative talk-show primary. Tens of millions of listeners — and potential GOP primary voters — tune in each week to the biggest right-wing...

Rush Limbaugh praised Liz Cheney on Monday while interviewing her on his radio show, calling her a Republican royal and one of former Vice President Dick Cheney’s “greatest contributions” to the country. “After all the great things Dick Cheney has done for our country over his long brilliant career, Liz Cheney might turn out to be one of his biggest contributions of all,” Limbaugh said. While interviewing Liz Cheney on his radio show, Limbaugh called her announcement to run against GOP Sen. Mike Enzi in a Wyoming primary as “momentous” and said the country needs more people like her. “People...
