Critics of the town (population less than 500) argue that it has long existed for the sole purpose of enforcing a speed trap on a 1,260-foot stretch of highway. Issued tickets (12,698 between 2011 and 2012, according to the New York Times) resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. But where did the money go? No one knows. Auditors were told by city officials that some of the records were "lost in the swamp," according to CNN.

When President Barack Obama and others on the left are not busy admonishing the rest of us to be "civil" in our discussions of political issues, they are busy letting loose insults, accusations and smears against those who dare to disagree with them. Like so many people who have been beaten in a verbal encounter and who can think of clever things to say the next day, after it is all over, President Obama, after his clear loss in his debate with Mitt Romney, called Gov. Romney a "phony." Innumerable facts, however, show it is our Commander in Chief who...

“If you had gone to any street corner in Chicago or Baton Rouge or Hampton – you would have found the same young men and women without hope, without miracles and without a sense of destiny other than life on the edge – the edge of the law, the edge of the economy, the edge of family structures and communities.”

Hampton said he was bothered that the invitation did not include players' wives and children and added, "Secondly, I’m not a fan of the guy in the White House, and third, it was 25 years ago. Let it go.” Obama,...

The Chicago Bears team that won the 1986 Super Bowl never had an official visit to the White House because of the Challenger explosion, so President Obama — a big Bears fan — has invited the squad for a visit on Friday. It may be a nice gesture, but one player is saying no thanks. Dan Hampton, who played for the Bears for more than a decade, said on Chicago’s Mully and Hanley radio show on Monday, “It's my own personal choice, and I don’t choose to go.” Hampton explained that he won't go, first of all, because his family...
