Remember Julie Boonstra? She’s the single mother fighting leukemia who appeared in an anti-Obamacare television ad running in Michigan: (see video at link) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid assailed Ms. Boonstra, and others like her, in a breathtakingly mean-spirited floor speech — going so far as to say that “all” of their negative experiences were “untrue” and “lies.” Reid now claims he doesn’t remember saying any such thing, but there’s video tape: (see Reid video at link) In his effort to discredit Boonstra, Reid relied on a Washington Post “fact check,” which effectively ruled her story half true. In fact,...

After a year-long dispute between a Washington union and United Grain Corp., the National Labor Relations Board is charging union picketers with not only attacking company workers, but with threatening to rape one manager’s daughter and issuing veiled threats to another’s children.

Candy Crowley is no stranger to injecting herself into political debates. Readers of NewsBusters will remember that her worst offense was during a 2012 presidential debate when she teamed up with President Obama to attack Mitt Romney over Benghazi. Despite Ms. Crowley’s past offenses, Ms. Crowley continued to show her dislike of the GOP during her February 16 State of the Union program. Speaking to her panel, Crowley invoked the famous song from “The Sound of Music” to ask “How do they solve a problem like Ted Cruz in the Republican caucus in the Senate?” [See video below.](VIDEO-AT-LINK)At issue for...

Simple design tweaks are allowing gun makers to get around restrictions New York put in place following the 2012 school shootings in Connecticut, prompting some critics to say the laws were mere window dressing. New York lawmakers passed the SAFE Act last year, and announced with fanfare that it effectively banned the sale of “assault weapons.” But AR-15s, the most popular type of guns often referred to as assault weapons, are sold in Empire State gun shops, freely and legally. The gun is being marketed by Stag Arms as a "New York-compliant AR-15," and features a slightly modified stock and...

Last week, the Congressional Budget Office released a report discussing the ramifications of Obamacare. The report revealed that the work-hour equivalent of approximately 2.5 million jobs would disappear from the workforce, thanks to Obamacare, in a voluntary process in which employees would simply dump out of their jobs, knowing they could get health care through expanded Medicaid and federal subsidies they would lose by working. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., an ideological leftist thought leader, spun the report as a massive positive for Obamacare: "The single mom, who's raising three kids (and) has to keep a job because of health care,...

It seems the mere mention of the name "Palin" is enough to send liberal hatemongers over the edge. On Saturday, Twitchy reported that's exactly what happened when 12-year-old Piper Palin tweeted a "selfie" that was a clever response to something her mother posted on Facebook. Predictably, liberal hatemongers on Twitter reacted like Pavlov's dogs and engaged in the usual hatred Americans have come to expect from the left. The former governor, Twitchy said, was in Pasadena on Friday to promote her new outdoor program. Palin told television critics she hoped her program would “empower young women to get outdoors,...

The US Department of Justice charged Conrad Barrett of Katy, Texas with a “hate crime” for assaulting a 79-year-old Black man and fracturing his jaw. Barrett made a video of the attack in order to see if it would make the national news. While there have been numerous other incidents of knock-out game assaults, a few resulting in fatalities, this is the first instance in which the DOJ has become involved. In the vast majority of these other incidents the perpetrators have been young Black males. Attorney General Eric Holder insisted that these other incidents were “not analogous to what...

The white Texas man facing federal hate crime charges for allegedly slugging a 79-year-old black man in a “knockout game” assault was denied bail Friday for an attack prosecutors say was racially motivated. During a hearing in U.S. District Court in Houston, U.S. Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy said suspect Conrad Barrett, 27, is a flight risk and danger to the community, according to Barrett’s lawyer, George Parnham. **SNIP** “Hate crimes tear at the fabric of entire communities,” said Acting Assistant U.S. Attorney General Jocelyn Samuels in a statement announcing Barrett’s charges Thursday.

Meet the haters. We’re talking about the voters who’ve had it with all Washington politicians: President Obama, congressional Republicans and congressional Democrats. Despite their distaste for, well, everyone, when push comes to shove, these voters are lining up squarely behind GOP candidates for Congress. It’s encouraging news for a Republican Party eyeing midterm elections now only about 11 months away. Why? Because it suggests the image problems the party’s congressional members have experienced — which have been worse than those suffered by Obama or congressional Democrats — don’t translate to a death knell at the ballot box. Seventy-two percent of...

Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank appeared on Fox News' MediaBuzz and called Martin Bashir's statement of using Sarah Palin as a toilet, "legitimate." During the "Spin Cycle" segment, Milbank callously supported Bashir: The Martin Bashir thing…he was making a very legitimate point about Sarah Palin. Host Howard Kurtz jumped in with much needed context to remind the panel that Palin did compare the national debt to slavery and agrees that it is "fair game" to criticize Palin over that. What he says can't be disputed is that the network, MSNBC, approved the script containing the vile comments. No matter...

You would think given all the heat MSNBC’s Martin Bashir is taking for his vile comments about Sarah Palin earlier this month, comedians might want to lay low for a while in attacking the former Alaska governor. Not HBO’s Bill Maher who on Real Time Friday said, “When Reagan was elected, Sarah Palin was barely 16, probably pregnant, but still in third grade” (video follows with transcript and commentary): (video at link) BILL MAHER: Just last week, Sarah Palin said, "There is no Ronald Reagan on the scene today. If he was, that's who I would put my faith in."...

In Wisconsin, dozens of conservative groups and allies of Gov. Scott Walker are undergoing political intimidation from the left at the hands of a special prosecutor. Subpoenas have been issued demanding correspondence and donor information of right-leaning organizations and individuals and raids have been conducted resulting in law enforcement officers taking computers and files in a secret investigation, according to reports. “In recent weeks, special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has hit dozens of conservative groups with subpoenas demanding documents related to the 2011 and 2012 campaigns to recall Governor Walker and state legislative leaders,” the Wall Street Journal writes. It continues,...

The radical “Gay Liberation Network is again targeting AFTAH’s banquet this Saturday for one of its protests. GLN’s leaders are so hateful that they refused to condemn the 2011 “gay” activist brick attack against AFTAH. The above notice is filled with misinformation. Folks, as you can see from the graphic above, copied off the website of the Chicago group Gay Liberation Network (GLN), we just received word that radical homosexual activists are again planning to protest our annual banquet (this Saturday, Nov. 16th; see AFTAH banquet information page; get a printable PDF banquet flier HERE). The GLN banquet protests have...

It’s an interesting dynamic. And apparently it goes both ways. It’s not news that black politicians, particularly of the older sort, hate Obama. The Congressional Black Caucus nearly went all in for Hillary. Jesse Jackson talked about cutting off Obama’s nuts. No doubt much worse was said in private. Some of this may be a personality clash between the old corrupt generation of black pols, the Charlie Rangel era, and the younger savvier Cory Bookers, like the one that played out in Newark. The Charlie Rangels think the Obamas and Bookers are too slick and too phony, that they don’t...

Mama Grizzly warned us this would happen. Under Obamacare, the sick and weak and old would stand before death panels of bureaucrats to be granted life or death. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was laughed off the stage for making what we now know is a prescient prediction four years ago. Perhaps she is one of the few who actually read the healthcare bill before it passed. "And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course," she wrote on her Facebook page in 2009. "The America I know and love...

A group of 10 black youths blocked a white couple’s car in the New York borough of Brooklyn, brutally beating the husband and slamming the wife’s head into the pavement by her hair as they shouted racial epithets, officials said. Ronald Russo, 30, and his wife, Alanna, 30, were stopped at a red light Monday night when the group crossed Avenue U at East 58th Street, the New York Daily News reported. Mr. Russo honked his horn when the light turned green to get the youths out of the way, but they then began kicking the car, according to the...

Militant factions in Iran are reportedly planning a sweeping rally titled, “Grand Day of Death to America,” to coincide with the 24th anniversary of the storming of the U.S. Embassy there. According to The National, Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri is saying the planned Nov. 4 convocation outside the long-shuttered and now-graffiti-covered diplomatic institution in the capitol city of Tehran will be organized by a newly created bureaucratic body called the “Death to the U.S. Committee.” “The crimes of U.S. leaders and international Zionism in dealing with Iran’s great nation will never be erased from public memories and minds,” reportedly noted...
