Explanation: Is the heart and soul of our Galaxy located in Cassiopeia? Possibly not, but that is where two bright emission nebulas nicknamed Heart and Soul can be found. The Heart Nebula, officially dubbed IC 1805 and visible in the featured image on the upper right, has a shape reminiscent of a classical heart symbol. The shape is perhaps fitting for Valentine's Day. The Soul Nebula is officially designated IC 1871 and is visible on the lower left. Both nebulas shine brightly in the red light of energized hydrogen, one of three colors shown in this three-color montage. Light takes...

I saw this show last night. I can't remember when I've seen someone play so hard for so long. And take no shortcuts. He had two drummers, a second guitar, bass, keyboard, and percussion/backup vocal. He didn't have to pay for two drummers, but he did. With his name, he could tour as a trio. Point being, again, no corners cut. Some tight originals indicate he's definitely not living in the past.I had a friend who played next to him in St. Pete at a benefit a few years ago, so I was paying close attention to the interaction between...

Bush, Kerry to campaign in Davenport DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) -- President Bush and his opponent, Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry, are scheduled to converge on this eastern Iowa city on Wednesday for separate campaign appearances. The rallies may come on the same morning -- in halls across the street from each other. "It will be the 3rd Street Duel," quipped Davenport Mayor Charlie Brooke, calling the possible tandem appearance an exciting opportunity for the city. Bush is to take part in a campaign rally at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday in Davenport before heading to Mankato, Minn., the White House confirmed late...

Thousand of supporters lined the streets, waving flags and holding up signs as President Bush made a campaign side trip through Dover and New Philadelphia. A much smaller number of protesters also staked out the route Saturday. During the ride through Dover, Bush stopped at the Eiler Candy Shop to trade banter with employees, sign autographs and buy candy. “How is everybody?” he asked. “Anybody hungry?” After scrutinizing the candy display, the president purchased chocolate-covered caramels.

The President stormed into Ohio, West Virginia, and is scheduled to do the same in Pennsylvania, campaigning for re-election in several cities. He'll be attending the wedding of his nephew, son of brother-Governor Jeb: George P. Bush, next weekend in Maine. The Bush family does not confirm the location or details. He'll attend the wedding after he addresses a campaign rally in Stratham, New Hampshire. Enjoy this Saturday edition of the Dose @ Sanity Island.

CANTON, Ohio - President Bush, defending his record on the economy, told supporters Saturday in an Ohio town where job losses are a major issue that he has a four-year plan for peace and prosperity. "After four more years, the American economy will continue to be the strongest in the world," Bush said as his Democratic rival, John Kerry, campaigned in neighboring Pennsylvania. Bush said factors beyond his control, such as the Sept. 11 attacks and corporate scandals, were to blame for the country's economic problems over the past four years. He also said the economy was weakening when he...

SPRINGFIELD — Twelve hours after John Kerry accepted the Democratic presidential nomination, President Bush cut loose Friday, offering ways he will deliver a better America while criticizing his opponent. Bush chose politically friendly southwest Missouri to embark on what he called his “Heart and Soul of America Tour” through four key states in the wake of the Democratic convention in Boston. Under gray skies, the president told some 10,000 supporters at a new university baseball park in Springfield that Kerry expressed good intentions but that they “do not always translate into results.” Results matter, he repeated several times, referring to...

IF GEORGE Bush did not bend his strict 10 o’clock bedtime during the Iraq war, he was not going to make an exception for John Kerry. So the US president was sound asleep when his election rival addressed the nation on Thursday night, his spokesman said. But as yesterday morning came and Americans began to digest Mr Kerry’s acceptance speech over their breakfasts, Mr Bush set out on a whistle-stop tour of key states to steal back some of the fire the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate had stoked up at the party convention in Boston. Casting his rival as a...

President Bush told the crowd that Democrats "somehow believe the heart and soul of America can be found in Hollywood. SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - President Bush (news - web sites) launched his counterattack Friday against John Kerry (news - web sites), saying his Democratic rival spent 18 years in the U.S. Senate with "no signature achievements." AP Photo   "My opponent has good intentions, but intentions do not always translate to results," Bush told thousands of supporters who repeatedly interrupted his remarks with standing ovations. Appearing at a baseball stadium at Southwest Missouri State University, Bush said that during eight years on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Kerry voted to cut the intelligence budget but had no record of reforming America's intelligence-gathering...

President and Mrs. Bush emerged from their Crawford, Texas ranch today (looking rested and ready to go) via Air Force One from Waco to Washington, and will begin a Midwest campaign blitz Friday, including visits to Ohio, Missouri and Michigan in just one day. Today he led a video conferencing meeting with his working group regarding the 9/11 Commission report, and is making plans to implement the changes they deem necessary, some by executive order, possibly as early as next week. The President also issued Executive Orders lifting the sanctions on Iraq due to the ‘removal of the regime of...
