Former Rep. Heather Wilson will announce Monday that she is running for New Mexico’s open Senate seat, a GOP source confirmed to Roll Call. Wilson told Roll Call in early January that she was considering running for the seat. At the time, she had just finished chairing incoming GOP Gov. Susana Martinez’s transition team. Dear FReepers, In October 2007, my dear friend Heather was diagnosed with cancer, a large sarcoma in her leg. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation, had that tumor removed in January of this year. At that time, her doctors were fairly optimistic regarding her prognosis, but the cancer metastasized to her lungs. Dear FReepers, Please pray for my dear friend Heather. She has a rare cancer, and is having surgery in the morning to remove the tumor. Heather was diagnosed in October with stage three leiomyosarcoma, which is an agressive cancer of the smooth muscle. Police tonight arrested two young women, a bank teller, and a fourth accomplice in connection with Tuesday's robbery of a Bank of America branch in Acworth, Georgia. The inside job was allegedly pulled off by Ashley Nicole Miller and Heather Lyn Johnston who are pictured in the below mug shots (Miller is at left). Although no one defended the law, the Bar Board of Governors has said three sections cannot lobby to repeal a state law banning homosexuals from adopting because it is too divisive among Bar members. The board voted 31-13 at its December 10 meeting in Naples to accept the recommendation of the Legislative Committee and deny the request of the Family Law, Equal Opportunities Law, and Public Interest Law sections to seek to change the law.
