A Shawnee man was shot and killed by a homeowner late Wednesday night at a rural home on Old Highway 270 near Shawnee. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case as a homicide, but no arrests have been made. It will be up to the district attorney’s office to review the case and determine if charges are warranted or if the shooting falls under Oklahoma’s “Make My Day” law. A 69-year-old Noblesville man has been arrested after shooting his son in both legs Thursday. Roy Baber told police his son threatened him with a weapon and he shot him in self-defense. 44-year-old Duane Baber was taken to Methodist Hospital with wounds that investigators said don't appear to be life- threatening. A deadly shooting in an Orange County neighborhood was determined to be self-defense, according to information released this morning. Investigators say the shooter, 35-year-old Willie Busby, was cooperative during the investigation and was acting in self-defense when he shot a man on his mother's property Thursday afternoon. LILBURN, Ga. (AP) - Gwinnett County police say a homeowner shot and killed 1 of the intruders when two men kicked in his front door. The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. Friday when the men knocked at the door and when no one answered, kicked it in. The home intruder gunned down by a northeast valley resident Sunday was a registered sex offender with a long criminal history, Las Vegas police said. The Clark County coroner's office identified the dead man as Mark Clinton Vains, 42, of Las Vegas.
