'I’m especially pleased to have Pharrell here,' she told the crowd, which lit up for the 'Happy' star. 'Every time I see him, which is not often enough, we always have a good conversation like we did before this event.' 'He always gets you to think. Not only is he a world class talent but he is a passionate advocate for issues,' Clinton gushed. Then she added: 'I’m going to do everything I can help him to deliver giving kids who are at risk access to education and arts programs that they deserve to have.'

On September 5, 2006, Eli Chomsky was an editor and staff writer for the Jewish Press, and Hillary Clinton was running for a shoo-in re-election as a U.S. senator. Her trip making the rounds of editorial boards brought her to Brooklyn to meet the editorial board of the Jewish Press. The tape was never released and has only been heard by the small handful of Jewish Press staffers in the room. According to Chomsky, his old-school audiocassette is the only existent copy and no one has heard it since 2006, until today when he played it for the Observer. The...

Facebook Lets Advertisers Exclude Users by Race Facebook’s system allows advertisers to exclude black, Hispanic, and other “ethnic affinities” from seeing ads. by Julia Angwin and Terry Parris Jr. ProPublica, Oct. 28, 2016, 8 a.m. David Sleight/ProPublica Imagine if, during the Jim Crow era, a newspaper offered advertisers the option of placing ads only in copies that went to white readers. That’s basically what Facebook is doing nowadays. The ubiquitous social network not only allows advertisers to target users by their interests or background, it also gives advertisers the ability to exclude specific groups it calls “Ethnic Affinities.” Ads that...

Michelle Obama (Michelle Obama denounces Trump....) laid into Donald Trump for his lewd locker room remarks about women as follows: "I can't stop thinking about this. It has shaken me to my core in a way I could not have predicted" -- whereupon the ( White House) warned Trump to not retaliate against the First Lady. "And the White House on Thursday advised that Trump continue to steer clear of the president's wife, suggesting that an unprecedented attack on the first lady is a surefire way for the GOP nominee's standing to plummet further." Well, Eric Schultz (and presumably Barack...

Just as refreshing, they show a disarming candor — including candor about lack of candor. Politicians need to be two-faced, Mrs. Clinton supposedly said (the campaign has not confirmed the leaked documents’ authenticity). If her frank critique of frankness proves to be more of a political nonevent than a bombshell, as has been the case to date, that will be for a good reason: Most of us know she is right, even if we don’t admit it. “You just have to sort of figure out how to — getting back to that word, ‘balance’ — how to balance the public...

Donald Trump is the only hope to save America, so the media have gone to war to stop him. They don’t care about being exposed as lying, hypocritical swine — I’d describe them more fully, but it would require locker room talk. They’ll win the public back later. Right now, all that matters is stopping Trump. The same media that are pretending to consider the use of a bad word equivalent to rape don’t give a fig about real rape, real sexual assault, real whoring, even real homicide, depending on who did it. JFK was an STD-infected drug addict who...

CBS News’ veteran anchor Bob Schieffer expressed outrage Sunday that Republican nominee Donald Trump focused attention on the women who accused former President Bill Clinton of rape and sexual assault. “How have we come to this? This is supposed to be a campaign for the most powerful office of the land. Here we’re marching in women into the hall who supposed to have some relationship with one of the candidate’s spouses. What’s that supposed to prove?” The “relationships” that the women had with Bill Clinton allegedly included rape and violent sexual assault. “We were not willing participants,” said rape accuser...

CHICAGO (AP) - President Obama said Sunday that he's having a hard time believing some of the rhetoric coming from the top of the Republican presidential ticket, saying that nominee Donald Trump has demeaned women, minorities and immigrants, mocked the disabled and insulted veterans. "I don't need to repeat it - there are children in the room," he said to laughter. Obama then listed an array of groups that he said Trump has insulted during the course of the campaign. He didn't directly address a video obtained by The Washington Post and NBC News that was made public Friday showing...

September 29, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — The French minister for Families, Childhood and Women’s Rights is celebrating the Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal Abortion with a plan to gag a number of websites that “mislead†women into thinking they give complete and honest information on abortion. Laurence Rossignol unveiled plans to criminalize those sites that aim to dissuade women from obtaining a “voluntary interruption of pregnancy,†a procedure that is 100 percent state-funded in France during the first 12 weeks of gestation. Offenders will incur prison sentences of up to two years and fines up to 30,000...

While criticizing Donald Trump for supposedly inciting violence against Hillary Clinton, Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine indulged in a violent fantasy of his own. “You know, I’d like to punch the guy in the face,” Kaine said of Trump. “He is using language that is an incitement to violence or an encouragement of violence or at least being kind of cavalier and reckless about violence, and that has no place in any election…” Chris Wallace, host of Fox News Sunday, had just asked Kaine about Trump’s comment on Friday night when Trump said he thinks Clinton’s bodyguards “should disarm. Take...

Elizabeth Warren unleashed a verbal barrage at Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf on Tuesday, calling the embattled bank boss "gutless" and demanding he step down. "You should resign...You should be criminally investigated," Warren told Stumpf during a fiery one-sided exchange at the Senate Banking Committee's Wells Fargo hearing. Warren, a vocal critic of big banks like Wells Fargo, demanded both the Department of Justice and SEC criminally investigate Stumpf for his "gutless leadership." Last week, a U.S. official told CNN that the DOJ has issued subpoenas to Wells Fargo.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday. "Viewership of Al Jazeera is going up in the United States because it's real news," You may not agree with it, but you feel like you're getting real news around the clock instead of a million commercials and, you know, arguments between talking heads and the kind of stuff that we do on our news which, you know, is not particularly informative to us, let alone foreigners."

Seems to me that the bill-boards I see state how many 1,000's of people have died so far on Texan roads. Yet to see a bill-board warning about how many deaths coursed by guns. Bottom line, I am more concerned about the nut behind the wheel of car than I am about a finger on a finger. Truthfully, I know no one who has been shot but plenty who have been either killed or maimed in automobile accidents.

HBO's Last Week Tonight host John Oliver pitches a new idea to Donald Trump: Avoid losing to Hillary Clinton by dropping out of the race for president now. "I know you're watching," he said. "Because you watch everything that is said about you." “You’re either going to win or you’re going to lose, and I think both those scenarios end pretty badly for you,” Oliver told the GOP presidential nominee on his HBO series Sunday. “I would like to propose to you a third option and that is, drop out. Simply drop out and tell America this entire candidacy was...
