INDIANAPOLIS - Congressman Dan Burton (R – Ind) is frustrated – very frustrated – after learning the details of an Eyewitness News investigation. "Why in the world are we doing this?" he asked. "Are you kidding me? The cost to the American tax payer is huge!" The veteran lawmaker is responding to what 13 Investigates discovered all across Indiana: illegal immigrants getting big tax refunds from the Internal Revenue Service thanks to a loophole in federal law. MORE: Tax loophole costs billions The loophole allows undocumented workers to collect what's called an additional child tax credit. The credit – up...

Illegal aliens working in the United States are technically required to fill out a tax return and pay their income taxes. We all laugh about claiming a additional deduction here or there for some neighborhood kid who eats the food out of your fridge and hangs out at your house all the time, but many of these workers are claiming deductions for children living in Mexico. Each spring, at tax preparation offices all across the nation, many illegal immigrants are now eagerly filing tax returns to take advantage of a tax loophole, using their ITIN numbers to get huge refunds...

President Obama wants to destroy America. This isn’t hyperbole; it is fact. This is the essence of the administration’s lawsuit against Arizona. Recently, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments regarding the constitutionality of Arizona’s immigration law, known as SB 1070. The measure was passed by the state Legislature and signed by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. Opinion polls consistently show a strong majority of Arizonans supports SB 1070. Hence, the administration is seeking to overturn the democratic will of the people. Mr. Obama wants to subordinate states’ rights to the growing federal Leviathan.

In today's episode of "My Government Scares The Crap Out Of Me", let's take a look at the Department of Labor's "environmental justice" program. First, before we get started, I thought it would be really, really swell to hear from an expert on "environmental justice". So, without further ado, I bring you Chairman Obama's former "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones. Take it away, Vannie! *********************************** "Mother Jones: Can you briefly explain what 'environmental justice' means to you? Van Jones: Environmental justice is the movement to ensure that no community suffers disproportionate environmental burdens or goes without enjoying fair environmental benefits."...

The largest wave of immigration in history from a single country to the United States has come to a standstill. After four decades that brought 12 million current immigrants—more than half of whom came illegally—the net migration flow from Mexico to the United States has stopped—and may have reversed, according to a new analysis by the Pew Hispanic Center of multiple government data sets from both countries. The standstill appears to be the result of many factors, including the weakened U.S. job and housing construction markets, heightened border enforcement, a rise in deportations, the growing dangers associated with illegal border...
  • What is Romney's plan? Rubio's Quasi-Dream Act, a Daniel D. Portado (Self-Deportation) plan, ...?

I can't keep up with what Romney is supposedly going to go with concerning illegals. First it was the ridiculous idea from Romney that illegals will self-deport. Remember Daniel D. Portado? Then there was the buzz that some kind of Kobach plan would emerge. Now there is supposedly going to be some type of Rubio Quasi-Dream Act. Who knows what Romney is going to go with. I guess more poll testing, and/or focus group work from the Romney campaign is needed before a plan emerges.

According to the LA Times, Eight years ago, the Los Angeles Board of Education adopted an ambitious plan to have all students take college-prep classes to raise academic standards in the nation's second-largest school district. Now, that plan is about to take effect: Beginning this fall, incoming freshmen will have to pass those classes to graduate. On Tuesday, district officials backtracked, offering details of a proposal to reduce overall graduation requirements and allow students to pass those classes with a D grade. They must change course, Los Angeles Unified School District officials said, or they would open the doors to...

Back in 2004, Jim Gilchrist, a retired Marine and the founder of the California Minutemen Project, emailed a few dozen friends and family suggesting that concerned civilians personally combat illegal immigration by traveling to the Arizona border with him. Gilchrist lives in Orange County, Calif., but the Arizona border was the most heavily trafficked and sparsely patrolled. That email reached thousands of people and touched a nerve.

CNSNews.com) - The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency is touting the "quality" medical care it provides for 15,000 illegal aliens who are housed at 21 detention facilities throughout the nation. "A detainee's health care begins the moment they walk through the facility's doors," said Dr. Jon Krohmer, assistant director for ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC). "Within the first 12 hours of their admission, all detainees undergo a preliminary health screening, which includes an evaluation of the individual's medical, dental and mental health status; and within the next 14 days, a more detailed physical examination takes place." Because so many...

IRS Commissioner: Paying Taxes Is Pathway to Citizenship for Illegal Aliens By Elizabeth Harrington April 5, 2012 (CNSNews.com) – Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said Thursday that paying taxes is a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens. At the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., 12 days before this year's tax-filing deadline (Apr. 17), Shulman was asked about what his agency is doing to collect taxes from illegal aliens. “You know, it’s a great question,” he said. “One of the pathways to citizenship that people believe is a good one is--even if you’re not in this country legally--to pay...

Federal immigration officials have notified President Obama’s uncle that they want to discuss his deportation to his native Kenya, confirming for the first time since last summer that he could still be forced to leave the country. The notice arrived days after Onyango Obama resolved a drunken driving case in Framingham that exposed the quiet 67-year-old as living in the United States illegally 20 years after he was ordered deported. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Brian P. Hale said Tuesday that now that Obama’s criminal case is over, “ICE has communicated, in accordance with standard procedure, with the attorney...

In its quest to implement stealth amnesty, the Obama Administration is working behind the scenes to halt the deportation of certain illegal immigrants by granting them “unlawful presence waivers.” The new measure would apply to illegal aliens who are relatives of American citizens. Here is how it would work, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announcement posted in today’s Federal Register, the daily journal of the U.S. government; the agency will grant “unlawful presence waivers” to illegal aliens who can prove they have a relative that’s a U.S. citizen. Currently such aliens must return to their native country...

More than 3,100 illegal immigrants living in the U.S., including 139 in South Florida, were arrested and are scheduled for criminal trial or deportation after a weeklong roundup that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement touted as the largest in years. Those picked up across the country last week included almost 1,500 men and women convicted of murder, sexual offenses and other violent felonies.

Senate Republicans want to alter DREAM Act legislation to steal away Hispanic voters from Democrats. Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), the only Senate Republican of Hispanic heritage and a possible vice presidential pick, is working on an alternative version of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, which would grant legal status to illegal immigrants who came to the country at a young age and serve in the military or attend college. He declined to provide any details, but confirmed he hopes to have legislation soon. “I don’t have any specifics to announce yet,” said Rubio. “This stuff...

    Stand With Arizona ^ | 03-21-2012 | John Hill
by John HillStand With Arizona We have chronicled Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) outrageous new directives, instantly removing between 300,000 and 1.4 million illegal aliens from the "enforcement priority" list - in effect granting them indefinite amnesty from deportation, without any authorization from Congress whatsoever. The rationale given for this lawless amnesty from ICE Director John Morton is that he would have a "sustained focus on criminal offenders". Instead we have chronicled one failure after another by ICE to detain or even keep track of criminal illegals and repeat offenders who present imminent risks to the public - such as...
