The remains of 63 infants or fetuses were found at a funeral home in Detroit on Friday, the Detroit Police Department said. The discovery came amid an expanding investigation, one week after authorities found the decomposed remains of 11 infants or fetuses at another — apparently unrelated — funeral home in Detroit. The discoveries have raised concerns about the handling and disposal of human remains by the city’s funeral homes, especially in cases of stillbirth. On Friday, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs found “heinous conditions and negligent conduct” at the Perry Funeral Home. State authorities said on...

A new trend is giving a break to breastfeeding sports fans. Lactation stations have started popping up in sports spaces: basketball arenas and baseball and football stadiums. Unlike bathroom stalls, lactation stations give moms a quiet and sanitary place to nurse their children—which most moms didn’t have just two decades ago. In 1999, Americans were almost evenly divided on whether they felt breastfeeding mothers should do so in public or private, with nearly a third neither agreeing nor disagreeing. Today, over half of Americans say they feel comfortable with mothers breastfeeding near them—yet many public places aren’t the most sanitary....

After they suffered the loss of their 5 month old son who died one day after receiving eight vaccines, the broken hearted parents are taking up the cause of infant and childhood vaccine death and injuries to fight for America's most helpless and vulnerable victims. Unbelievably, the hospital cremated the infant and ruled Matthew's death was "UNDETERMINED." The couple's lawyer would not let the baby's mother Crystal view the autopsy report which "was one of the most difficult to look at" even though the lawyer had seen many autopsy reports. The parents had to wait well over two years to...

10 babies within UC Irvine Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) contracted the superbug MRSA — a bacteria that is antibiotic resistant, which makes it hard to treat — during an eight month period, but the public is just finding out about it now. Contracting the superbug is a huge concern for babies who are already critically ill and have undeveloped immune systems, Finnstrom added. Officials stress that none of the sick infants died. They were each successfully treated.

The infants at Yale's Silliman (residential) College may deserve better, but it would have to start with fresh diapers and spankings. When I was a Yale undergraduate about a half century ago, my fellow students were young men, not infants; they had senses of humor. Those who helped us to learn were adults. They did not much care whether their words might offend the easily offended. Neither did we.This song was sung by the returning class of 1963, my class. I wish I had been able to attend and wonder whether it will eventually cease to be sung at Yale. Video...

The case has been referred to Niger's public prosecutor. Last year, Nigerian police raided several "baby factories", freeing dozens of pregnant girls who were being forced to bear children for sale.

There was a well-reported Baptism of an Argentinian child, Umma Azul, that took place last Saturday, April 5, 2014. Umma’s mother, Soledad Ortiz happens to be ‘married’ to a woman named Carina Villarroel. Having never received the Sacrament of Confirmation, these women are not in full communion with the Catholic Church. The chosen Godmother of Umma is Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez, who signed Argentina’s homosexual-marriage legislation into law in 2010. Fernandez is also a strong proponent of birth control and surgical abortion. She considers herself to be a Roman Catholic. Despite serious concerns raised in the weeks that preceded the...

TORONTO – For women, smelling a newborn baby feels as good as drugs are to addicts or cheeseburgers to those just breaking a fast, new Montreal research suggests. A University of Montreal scientist says a newborn baby’s odour lights up the reward centres in our brain in a way other scents can’t. And for women – specifically moms – the experience, a rush of dopamine to the brain, is heightened. The reaction is so strong, it exists even if the baby isn’t in front of you. It’s chemistry between mom and baby. “What we’ve shown for the first time is...

A new analysis of federal health data shows that Medicaid paid for nearly half of all births in the United States in 2010, a rate that continues to increase. The federal health care program covered 48 percent of the 3.8 million births that year, jumping from 40 percent in 2008, say researchers from the George Washington University School of Public Health. In only two years, the government entitlement covered 90,000 more women giving birth, as states expand the federal-state health coverage plan. Medicaid coverage varied greatly state by state, ranging from a low of one-quarter of births in Hawaii to...

A doctors group that supports an Arizona law restricting non-emergency abortions after 20 weeks filed a legal brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit showing that babies feel pain during an abortion as early as the same amount of weeks into a pregnancy. The 9th Circuit ruled to temporarily prevent implementation of Arizona H.B. 2036 on Aug. 1. The passed law, which is now being considered by the court, would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy save in the event of medical emergency. A district court found that "the unborn child has developed pain sensors...

Article says newborn babies are not “actual persons” and do not have a “moral right to life”. The academics also argue that parents should be able to have their baby killed if it turns out to be disabled when it is born. " Article published in the Journal of Medical Ethics." Note: I was stunned when I read this article and post it here to show how dangerous "liberals" dabbling in morality can be. I asked myself is this proposal going to show up in academic discussions in our universities and hospitals? GC "Parents should be allowed to have their...
