A human body cut into pieces was found inside a suitcase at Baniyatar area of Gongabu in the Capital on Sunday morning. Police found the body after locals informed them of an unclaimed suitcase in the area. The head and some other body parts were found about 300 metres from the suitcase, according to Ishwar Karki, superintendent of police at the Metropolitan Crime Division. “Trained dogs were mobilised which recovered the head and some other body parts a bit further from the incident site.” The body is of a man aged possibly between 35 and 40 years but his identity...

Today is Earth Day, a day that was founded in part by a murderer known as the "Unicorn Killer" (Ira Einhorn). Wikipedia, along with several other sources I've found, has written him out of the history--a couple sources just dusted him to the side. He committed homicide against his girlfriend, too gruesome for me to detail. Long live Earth Day.

Since 1970, Earth Day has provided an opportunity for all Americans to come together to celebrate the majestic natural beauty of our Nation and the world. The United States is blessed with breathtaking and plentiful natural wonders and resources, providing recreation and sustenance to millions throughout our country. On the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we pay tribute to our Nation’s long history of environmental stewardship and conservation, and we reaffirm our commitment to protecting our natural treasures for the benefit and enjoyment of all Americans. Following in the rich tradition of environmental leaders like Gifford Pinchot and President Theodore...

A former hippie guru who lived the high life in Europe for years after murdering his ex-girlfriend in Philadelphia in the 1970s has died in prison. Ira Einhorn, 79, died early Friday in a state prison in western Pennsylvania of natural causes, according to Susan McNaughton, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections. The death at SCI-Laurel Highlands was not related to the COVID-19 virus, she said.

More than three decades before Greta Thunberg was born — the Swedish environmental activist on climate change — more than 20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. We now look back at quotes from Earth Day, Then and Now,” by Ronald Bailey, Reason.com. May 1, 2000 of the spectacularly wrong apocalyptic predictions from Earth Day 1970. Considering the current doomsday predictions scaremonger activists are verbalizing about global warming that will result in the demise of civilization within the next decade, many of those unscientific 1970 predictions are being reincarnated on today’s social and news...

Ira Einhorn, the notorious convicted murderer known as the “Unicorn Killer,” died of natural causes early Friday while in state prison, authorities said. His death was not related to the coronavirus, Susan McNaughton, a state Department of Corrections spokesperson, wrote in an email. Einhorn, 79, was being housed at the State Correctional Institution-Laurel Highlands in Somerset County. He died at 4:23 a.m., McNaughton said. Einhorn was found guilty of killing his girlfriend, Holly Maddux, in 1977 and stuffing her body into a trunk that he kept in his Powelton apartment for 18 months. In 1981, just before his trial, he...

We all want to live in a world conducive to human health and safety. The good news is things have been improving for years. Starting with the big picture, some five decades ago, 45 percent of the world’s population was living in extreme poverty. Today, that number is less than 10 percent. Back then, global life expectancy was 60 years old. It is now around 72, in developed countries, it’s more than 80. Even in Africa, the most impoverished region of the world, average lifespan has climbed from 47 to 60. The annual death rate of children under five years...

Nicknamed the Unicorn Killer because his last name means "one horn" in German, Ira Einhorn jumped bail and evaded arrest for 23 years, but eventually the "she went to the neighborhood co-op to buy some tofu and sprouts and never returned" story fell apart. Ira Einhorn was on stage hosting the first Earth Day event at the Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on April 22, 1970. Seven years later, police raided his closet and found the "composted" body of his ex-girlfriend inside a trunk... After 23 years, he was finally extradited to the United States from France and put on trial....

So, how will Freepers be celebrating Earth Day 2017? Personally, I will be clearing an area in the backyard to set up for a compost pile and organic vegetable garden. But first, I need to burn the tires that are there; and I'm thinking that my used motor oil will make an excellent accelerant.

More and more Americans are opting out of Earth Day in favor of a holiday that offers a chance to fight back against Marxism and political correctness. The holiday, which is called “Holly Maddux Day,” is named after the young woman murdered by Ira Einhorn, a 1960s antiwar activist. Einhorn, who was a friend of Jerry Rubin and Abby Hoffman, is regarded by many as the founder of Earth Day. Einhorn emceed the first Earth Day celebration in Philadelphia in April 1970, at which Sen. Edmund Muskie gave the highlight address. Einhorn, an advocate of free love and drug use,...
  • Earth Day, a holiday of misery and death, invented by Ira Einhorn, a murderer

April 22 is Earth Day, which was the brain child of an activist named Ira Einhorn, a self-proclaimed hippie environmentalist and, of course, and opponent of the Vietnam War. The holiday is Easter and Christmas all in one for the environmental movement. It is said to be a celebration of the Earth, which is thus far humanity’s sole home, but is actually a celebration of misery and death. The opposition of environmentalists to virtually life-saving and life-improving technology from genetically modified organisms and all but the most stringently approved forms of energy bears witness to that supposition. Einhorn, who called...

Wednesday is Earth Day. Like Earth Hour in March, this celebration will be yet another complaint-fest about how our modern lifestyles, especially our CO2 emissions, are destroying the planet. Why not be positive, for once? Instead of blaming carbon “criminals,” maybe Earth Day should celebrate carbon heroes. Here are the 10 countries with the lowest CO2 emissions per capita, according to the World Bank.

Oh, the delicious, delicious irony.Yesterday was Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day, which was celebrated with a concert and other festivities on the National Mall. While the concert itself was powered by solar energy, the attendees could have learned a lesson or two about taking care of planet Earth. For instance, check out these trash and recycling cans I spotted near the National Mall, close to the Washington Monument: scenes from the Earth Day concert on the Mall pic.twitter.com/3kKQOe2qax— Christine Rousselle (@crousselle) April 18, 2015 Disgusting. The environmental orgy known as Earth Day has come and gone. Disney opened their annual Earth Day movie homage, Pinterest made available a slew of Earth Day activities for kids, and public and private schools have had their requisite ceremonies. In all the celebration, the one thing that is seemingly never asked is whether or not environmentalist policies by the government are actually helping the environment? Wind energy is just one example. The United States government has provided billions of dollars of subsidies to the wind industry over the past twenty years, subsidies that have not yet been renewed in...

More Americans believe in God than in man-made global warming ... how remarkably resilient Americans are in the face of relentless environmental brainwashing. The schools, the universities, the government, the green NGOs, Hollywood and the MSM have invested billions of man hours and dollars trying to persuade them that climate change is the greatest threat of our age. But according to this survey, only 33 per cent are buying it - ... all the latest research suggests that the importance of CO2 and other greenhouse gases has been grossly exaggerated in the various computer models predicting catastrophic global warming, which...

Happy Earth Day! April 22nd is the day when President Obama and the rest of the gang demonstrate their commitment to saving the planet by flying in to plant a tree somewhere. And say what you like but, when you're looking for fellows who know how to dig a huge hole, Obama and Harry Reid are pretty much at the top of the list. My township in New Hampshire is 90 per cent forested, but you can never have too many trees, so on Earth Day I always like to plant a couple more, get the tree cover in my...

On Earth Day, according to various advocates, "events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth's natural environment." As we observe the event Tuesday, it might be a good time to appreciate the fact that Americans get most of their plentiful, affordable energy directly from the Earth's "natural environment" in the form of fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum). It's largely those energy sources that fuel our vehicles and airplanes; heat, cool and light our homes and businesses; power our nation's factories; and in the process significantly raise our standard of living. Shouldn't that be part...
