The Jets made one of the most dramatic trades in franchise history Wednesday — twice. Gang Green swung a deal with the Broncos for polarizing quarterback Tim Tebow last night after the trade nearly fell through earlier in the day. The Jets sent their fourth- and fifth-round picks in next month’s draft to Denver in return for Tebow and the Broncos’ seventh-round pick. (Snip) Eventually the Jets and Broncos agreed to split the $5 million payment, according to ESPN. The deal got done just before 9 p.m., some eight hours after it originally was thought to be completed.

After word spread rapidly Wednesday that the New York Jets had acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams have encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that could nullify the trade, a Broncos source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Tebow has about $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning the Jets would have to pay back some money to Denver, and the Jets might be unwilling to do that. The trade, then, is not finalized.
