Libertarian presidential candidate and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson is newly in favor of mandatory vaccination, he says, after learning more about the science of immunization. In 2011, Johnson tweeted “No to mandatory vaccines,” but asked in an interview with VPR Wednesday about his position, Johnson said he now believes that vaccinations should be mandatory.

Three out of five American voters want a third-party candidate to speak during the coming presidential debates, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll - a sign that Americans want an alternative to this unusually negative presidential race. This poll gave Libertarian Gary Johnson, the top third-party presidential candidate, just 10 percent of the vote, but noted 62 percent of those surveyed said they wanted to see a third-party candidate in the presidential debates, and 37 percent said they were looking to vote independent of the two major parties this November.

A Philadelphia man and woman have been charged in a home invasion in Chester that left a 75-year-old man bound at the hands and feet by cords, and his 49-year-old daughter severely beaten and in critical condition. Erinn Howarth, 25, of Germantown - who is possibly the man's housekeeper - and Richard Johnson, 23, of Juniata Park, were arraigned Thursday morning on charges that include robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and conspiracy. This is the summer of Gary Johnson. The former New Mexico governor who has been steadily drifting left over his career is now doing his best to make Hillary Clinton into President Hillary Clinton. Back in 1999, Johnson rejected overtures from the Libertarian Party for a presidential run. “I'm a Republican, and I'm not going to run for President.'” Both parts of that statement proved to be lies.

Johnson and one of his rivals, presumptive Green Party nominee Jill Stein, sued the commission last September, alleging violations of antitrust law and the First Amendment. Johnson and Stein are seeking spots on the all-important presidential debate stage this fall. But federal judge Rosemary M. Collyer threw out the lawsuit on Friday. Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is thinking about supporting the Libertarian presidential ticket this year. Well, at least, that’s what the Libertarian ticket says. In a interview Thursday afternoon with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, former Govs. Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, of New Mexico and Massachusetts, respectively, said they have had spoken with Romney and he was “considering the possibility” of endorsing the two of them.
