A Baltimore County police officer was fatally shot in Perry Hall Monday afternoon during a traffic stop. Police said the shooting happened in a residential neighborhood near Belair and Klausmier roads, after the officer responded about a suspicious vehicles in the unit-block of Linwen Way. The officer, who would have been a 4-year veteran in July, was shot in the head just after 2 p.m. and was taken to Medstar Franklin Square hospital nearby where she was pronounced dead at 2:50 p.m.

ot Peterson, the sheriff’s deputy vilified for failing to confront the Parkland school shooter, has begun receiving a state pension of $8,702.35 a month. Peterson resigned and retired Feb. 22, a week after the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where he waited outside as Nikolas Cruz killed 17 people and wounded 17 others. Peterson began to receive his pension in April, according to the Florida Department of Management Services. He can receive the payments for the rest of his life. In Shreveport, on the afternoon of 30 October, 2017, three suspects are alleged to have been breaking into a car behind a restaurant. The restaurant owner surprised the suspects.   He felt threatened, and fired at one of the suspects, hitting him in the head. The suspect later died. The other suspects fled the scene. Two Dallas Police Department officers have been critically wounded in a shooting at a Home Depot store in north Dallas, police officials confirmed. One civilian was also shot in the incident at the Home Depot at U.S. 75 and Forest Lane, multiple sources told WFAA. The police officer who jumped into action during a 2016 attack at Crossroads Center in St. Cloud was honored on Thursday. Avon police Officer Jason Falconer received a Congressional Badge of Bravery for his actions on that September 2016 day. Falconer was off duty when 22-year-old Dahir Adan stabbed and injured 10 people at the mall. Falconer shot and killed Adan to stop the attack. The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of a police officer who shot a woman outside of her home in Tucson, Arizona in May 2010. The officer, Andrew Kisela, shot Amy Hughes after she was seen acting "erratically," hacking at a tree with a knife and arguing with her roommate.Kisela and another police officer, Alex Garcia, heard about the report on their patrol car radio and responded.
