Over the weekend the world was gripped by the drama surrounding the mysterious murder-homicide of the former CEO of Dutch bank ABN Amro and members of his family, and whether there is more foul play than meets the eye. However, that is nothing compared to what just happened in the tiny, and all too quiet Principality of Lichtenstein, where moments ago the CEO of local financial institution Bank Frick & Co. AG, Juergen Frick, was shot dead in the underground garage of the bank located in the city of Balzers.

Libor scandal grows as the fathers of two mass murderers were to testify In the wake of the mass murders that took place in Newtown, Connecticut on Dec. 14, information on the shooter, and his family, is slowly being discovered by law enforcement other sources. The net is flooding with conspiracy theory about this shooting. Most of them are total bunk. However there are major issues with the initial, and evolved reports; and indeed something is not passing the sniff test for me either. -snip- Adam Lanza had lived with his mother in the 4,000-square-foot, $700,000 house. His parents were divorced in 2009. He had two bedrooms that were clean and orderly when law officers swept into the house after the shootings Friday morning. Lanza apparently lived in one of the rooms and kept his computer gear and other items in the other one, the sources said. Law officers found evidence that Adam Lanza played graphically violent video games, the sources said.

With the four-year anniversary of the financial crisis approaching, Wall Street thought it had dodged a bullet. Now comes the Libor scandal. The esoteric practice of banks “fixing” the price of the London Interbank Offered Rate (more on Libor in a bit) may have heads rolling — and hard time being served — unlike “sexier” bubble-era improprieties like selling toxic debt to the unsuspecting. Since the 2008 collapse, not a single major US bank CEO has been removed from his job, much less charged with a civil infraction over these activities.
