In the wee hours of June 17, 1972, G. Gordon Liddy slipped into his bedroom and undressed quietly in the dark, hoping not to wake his wife, Frances. "Is that you?" Frances asked, as Liddy would recall years later in his autobiography, Will. "Yes." ". . . Anything wrong?" "There was trouble. Some people got caught. I'll probably go to jail." Liddy was right. He wound up serving 52 months in prison -- longer than anyone else involved -- for his role in orchestrating the break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Hotel that ultimately brought down...

This is probably a vanity question but 'cause of the timing (pre-election) I'll ask: While listening to Rush here in the Tampa area on 970AM, I keep hearing what I swear is G. Gordon Liddy's voice-over talking about Bush in cahoots with the Saudis and OBL's family.Anybody know what Liddy's thoughts are and if he indeed is the voice-over on this radio ad? (assuming you know of the ad)

Critics are lining up in opposition to Maricopa County GOP chairman Tom Liddy. The Executive Guidance Committee (EGC) of the Maricopa County Republican Party voted Oct. 7 to direct Liddy and his attorney, Tom Ryan, to withdraw as a litigant against conservative political consultant Constantin Querard. Conservative members of the EGC had claimed that Liddy had sued Querard without the knowledge of or authority of the governing board. The vote was 17-8 against Liddy. Last summer, Querard issued a mailer to 20,000 pro-family citizens which included an elephant image on the publication. Some 14,000 people signed the forms and returned...

The Connecticut Con By Sandy Liddy Bourne Despite the valiant efforts of a few state legislators to bring fiscal responsibility back into government, the Connecticut state legislature's recent passage of a controversial bill is best described as an exercise in rational ignorance. The bill, SB 595, requires Connecticut to develop a plan that reduces state greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by the year 2010; 10% below 1990 levels by 2020; and 75% to 85% below 2001 levels by 2050. First there is the little problem of the U.S. Constitution. The legislation cites an agreement between the New England Governors...

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Last week, radio talk show host G. Gordon Liddy told Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson of CNN's Crossfire that he would like "a shot at Bill O'Reilly," after he was asked what conservative would he most like to take on during the 'rapid fire' segment of the show. This came a day after Liddy appeared on Deborah Norville Tonight and said, "O'Reilly is an embarrassment to our side," answering questions regarding O'Reilly's style on radio and television. Liddy's remarks were made during interviews with the veteran host alongside Al Franken, a host of the new liberal...

Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly and nationally syndicated radio host G. Gordon Liddy are blasting each other in a mini-feud ignited by media libs Paul Begala and Al Franken. The stone-throwing apparently started Thursday night, when Begala, hosting "Crossfire," asked Liddy about why his Westwood One colleague O'Reilly "hasn't done very well on radio." Citing a year-old Drudge report, Liddy said the top-rated cable TV host's radio ratings are "in the toilet." "He really doesn't do radio well at all," the G-Man added. Friday afternoon, Liddy guested on Al Franken's radio show, where both hosts took shots at O'Reilly....

I never thought I would say I would be hooked to country music, but unfortunately, in the afternoons, I'm not supposed to be doing such, but I find it tempting to want to hear the chorus of the controversial Gretchen Peters-written and Radio Disney-modified "Independence Day": Let freedom ring Let the white dove sing Let the whole world know today Is a Day of Reckoning Let the weak be strong Let the Left be wrong Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay It's Independence Day . . . (switches to a choral music setting, more of which I am...

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- In a recent exclusive interview, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and author G. Gordon Liddy told Talon News that he thinks President Bush is doing an "outstanding job with respect to foreign policy." Liddy cited recent successes in the war on terror as vindication of the president's policies that his opponents call "unilateral." Liddy observed that Bush has not been "seduced by the multilateral U.N. worshippers." He listed the State Department and the Rockefeller Foundation among those who hold the international body in such high esteem. Liddy believes the U.N. is a useless organization save...

What do the St. Louis Rams' football team and Tom Liddy have in common? Both were accused on Saturday of poor clock management that prevented them from completing their missions. While the Rams' decision not to play for the win in regulation of an NFL playoff game resulted in an overtime loss, Liddy did not have the luxury of an overtime and ran out of precinct committeemen (PCs) and a quorum which cost Maricopa County GOP the opportunity to complete its agenda at the annual mandatory meeting of PCs. After Saturday's meeting, committee chairmen grumbled about Liddy's lack of knowledge...

A Conflict of Loyalties David C. Stolinsky, M.D. Tuesday, June 10, 2003 What do Linda Tripp, Elia Kazan and G. Gordon Liddy have in common? At first glance, one would say “nothing.” Tripp “betrayed” her friend Monica Lewinsky by taping their phone conversations. Kazan “named names” to a congressional committee investigating Communists in Hollywood. Liddy “hung tough” and refused to talk about his associates in the Watergate burglary and, as a result, served five years in federal prison. The tape-recording friend, the anti-Communist film director and the conservative talk show host seem an unlikely trio. But they have something important...

"[The Seven Myths of Gun Control] should be in every single home. The only other thing that's more important in every single home would be a loaded gun." G. Gordon Liddy September 10, 2001 "The Lost Interview" WITH THE PAPERBACK EDITION of my book The Seven Myths of Gun Control due out in August 2003 from Crown Forum, I can't think of a more appropriate time to publish my "Lost Interview" with G. Gordon Liddy. I call it "The Lost Interview" because most of my readers never heard it, never read it and never knew it took place. National...

Carl, Carnahan, Bowels Feel Cramps October 21, 2002 Three Democrat candidates touted by the media and the party; three tales of self-inflicted wounds. In the North Carolina Senate race, Irksome Bowels has been caught bashing Elizabeth Dole for supporting individual Social Security retirement accounts when he himself favored them in 1998! Let this be a lesson to you: if you ever deviate from your principles for political gain, your hypocrisy will come back to bite you in the bowels. Irksome was right on this. If you'd invested your Social Security nest egg in the stock market in 1955, you'd retire...

After nearly a year of running for the Senate and 50 minutes of debate where he painted himself as a Democrat Jesse Helms, Erskine Bowles has admitted that he worked 5 years for the Clinton Administration. Did you Freepers know that Erskine takes all of the credit for the Balanced Budget in '95?

The National Rife Association is debating internally about how to deal with its 'Liddy Problem.' No, not the G-Man. Elizabeth Dole. According to a staffer with the NRA's Institute for Legal Action, which spearheads the group's political activities, the NRA board is debating whether to endorse Dole in her Senate bid.'We don't want to endorse her,' says the ILA policy staffer. She's been awful on gun ownership issues, gun control issues. The NRA can't be expected just to endorse every Republican the party puts up.'This is especially true in North Carolina, where the NRA's roots and support runs deep. The...
