As governments attempt to make more guns and gun ownership illegal, they succeed in doing so.  It does not mean that fewer criminals are armed.  Overall crime does not drop when controls are implemented.  One of the reasons is that guns are fairly easy to make, and the materials to make them are virtually impossible for an industrial society to control. An unintended consequence is that submachine guns or machine pistols may be substituted for ordinary pistols.  They are easier to make, because they are a simpler mechanism. The above machine pistol/ submachine gun, based on the MAC design...

Local Muslims want the public to know their religion does not condone any violence, and clearly not the horror in Orlando. “This barbaric act has no place in Islam,” said Tahir Ali during a vigil on the steps of Worcester City Hall. Members of the Islamic Society of Greater Worcester gathered along with other clergy and political leaders for a public service at the end of a difficult week for the Islamic community. At the MBTA, anti-Muslim graffiti was discovered in a train. In another instance, guards responded with machine guns to a report of a Muslim couple praying on...

The German Defense Ministry is taking flak after pictures emerged of soldiers letting very small people play with some very big weapons. It all started at an open-house event in Stetten, Baden-Württemberg at the weekend, where civilians were invited in to learn about the German armed forces, the Bundeswehr. But on Monday, the advocacy group German Peace Society/United Opponents of Military Service posted pictures on Facebook showing small, preschool-aged children being offered the chance to handle some powerful guns on their own. The guns in the pictures included a G36 assault rifle, a USP pistol, and a MP7 submachine gun,...

Just as Barack Obama is plotting to create more limits on firearms, ammunition and the like during his final year in the Oval Office, there are court arguments developing that the longstanding federal ban on machine guns is, in fact, unconstitutional. One of Obama’s plans when he moved into the White House some seven years ago was to deprive more Americans of access to guns. Under his watch, various federal bureaucracies have been doing that, such as the Veterans Administration’s move to arbitrarily classify returning veterans as incompetent and then warn them they were being put on the federal list...

Everyone talks about the AKM being the most reliable firearm ever invented, but it is nice to see other designs coming to the forefront of reliability every now and again. In this case, I present a pair of Browning machine guns. Granted, this is no indication that every Browning out there is extremely reliable. In fact, I would rather state the reverse, and I know many machine gunners out there can vouch for this, in that the fifty caliber M2 certainly isn’t the most reliable thing in the world. Knowing how to properly headspace and time the the gun is...

At Machine Gun America, kids as young as 13 can shoot military-grade firearms at custom targets or in simulated experiences, no prior experience required. **SNIP** The investigation extended to Yee after an undercover FBI agent who had infiltrated Chow's group was introduced to the senator and allegedly persuaded him to trade political favors for campaign contributions. Lim became enmeshed in the case due to his political backing of Yee. According to a 137-page FBI affidavit, Yee introduced Lim to the undercover agent as a man who could secure guns. The agent, the FBI said, had asked Yee to facilitate an arms deal in exchange for more campaign money. The accusations prompted the Philippines government to open a probe into whether Lim had links to...

I found out today that ATFE has reinstated the ability of Nevada CCW holders to use their Nevada CCW permits as an alternative to the $25 Point Of Sale contact in filling out the form 4473 required with each firearm sale. This is GREAT news, and a testament to the power of gun owner activism. This "upon the person" language may be important, as it would prevent a future A.G. easily taking vehicle carry away from us by merely changing the opinion. The point was brought up that the...
