Why Do The Philadelphia Police Have 1,356 Full-Auto M-16s? Posted on April 18, 2013 by Robert Farago “An automatic M-16 rifle is missing from one of the Philadelphia Police Department’s main gun-storage units and Commissioner Charles Ramsey has called in federal authorities to investigate,” philly.com reports. ”Obviously, this is very, very serious,” Ramsey said. “And believe me, we will get to the bottom of it, one way or another, I guarantee that.” Cops lose gun. Cops go crazy trying to find it before it turns into another Fast and Furious Brian Terry deal. Another day, another example of why cops...

Bikini-clad, gun-toting Israeli woman becomes an Internet sensation A photo of a gun-wielding, bikini-clad woman standing on a crowded Tel Aviv beach has become an Internet sensation, with thousands of viewers curious about whether the brunette beauty is part of Israel's military and why she wasn't in uniform with her weapon in tow. The newspaper Haaretz notes that 'To an Israeli, the photo makes perfectly practical sense. When soldiers take their weapon off military premises, they must guard it closely and keep it on their person, at all times. Having one's weapon stolen is harshly punished with time in military...

New arms for a new Iraqi army Soldiers are trading in the iconic Soviet assault rifle, the AK-47, for a U.S. military symbol, the M-16. By Doug Smith Los Angeles Times Staff Writer December 2, 2007 BESMAYA RANGE, IRAQ — The company of Iraqi soldiers pressed together for the dance of valor, singing of their bravery, stomping in the desert sand, thrusting their weapons skyward, just as they might have done not so many years ago to honor Saddam Hussein. But what were those sleek silhouettes they jabbed into the air? Not AK-47s. The iconic Soviet bloc assault rifle that...

The "Brady Campaign" is trying hard to derail or ruin H.R. 5005, the “FIREARMS CORRECTIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS ACT” ! It would be interesting to know who the 35 Police Chiefs are who aren't willing to admit to the public that they're against the bill. I was initially skeptical that the the Nevada Sheriff's and Chief's Association was supporting the "Brady" bunch on this, so I PERSONALLY confirmed it. Here is the contact information for the association lobbyist and president. Nevada Sheriffs & Chiefs Association Lobbyist, Frank Adams 866-266-9870 Cell, 702/379-6591 President, No. LV Sheriff, Mark Paresi (702) 633-1837 This association...

More proof that Jim Gibbons does not just talk about reforming out of control Gov. Org. agencies, he actually takes steps to expose their abuses. In this archived thread we see that he has even taken BATFE to task, they really hated having to admit to their data-base errors! Can someone comment on this picture of this M2 and it's ammo?

I found out today that ATFE has reinstated the ability of Nevada CCW holders to use their Nevada CCW permits as an alternative to the $25 Point Of Sale contact in filling out the form 4473 required with each firearm sale. This is GREAT news, and a testament to the power of gun owner activism. Initially the Nevada Chief's and Sheriff's Association thought they could simply shrug off the results of several of their members failing an ATFE audit. Their failing the audit resulted in ATFE announcing that Nevada CCW's would no longer be accepted in lieu of a requirement...

A while back, Rep. Jim Gibbons requested the Congressional Research Staff to put together a memo concerning the NFRTR (NFA database) and reported abuses, missing information, etc. The CRS compiled the memo and Jim Gibbons has released it. Here is a link to the PDF file. http://www.nfaoa.org/documents/CRSmemoNFRTR0001.pdf This document shows coverups, deliberate illegal changes to the NFRTR database and brings to light the questionable practices of the BATF. Due to the nature of the abuses and the consequenses of the actions of the BATF, I feel that this document shows grounds for a repeal of the 1986 machine gun ban...

SNIP - ALITO DISSENTING OPINION Maj. Op. at ----. In other words, the majority argues in effect that the private, purely intrastate possession of machine guns has a substantial effect on the interstate machine gun market. This theory, if accepted, would go far toward converting Congress's authority to regulate interstate commerce into "a plenary police power." Lopez, --- U.S. at ----, 115 S.Ct. at 1633. If there is any sort of interstate market for a commodity--and I think that it is safe to assume that there is some sort of interstate market for practically everything--then the purely intrastate possession of...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — An Iraqi-born man was sentenced Monday to nearly five years in prison after trying to buy machine guns and hand grenades in a federal sting operation. Ahmed Hassan Al-Uqaily (search), 34, was arrested last October during the investigation prompted by his alleged threat about "going jihad" against the United States, investigators said.

The first half of the 109th session of congress is winding down, more ACTIVISM from NFA-RKBA supporters is critical! I would have preferred to post this under "Activism", but this section appears to get the most traffic. We need all of our members and lurkers to get much more active, congress is historically much braver regarding "controversial*" legislation in the first half of each session. In the second half they begin covering their back's in preparation for the next election! The author's of the several bills we support in our mission statement all took a significant career chance in...

As many here well know, ATFE-Tech has a miserable record of inconsistent and irrational "ruling's" in regard to disqualifying products and prosecuting individuals for technical violations of the NFA-34. This bill may be the ONLY way to compel ATFE to begin acting honestly and professionally. The bill needs our urgent attention, it currently has ZERO cosponsors and will die in committee unless RKBA people take heed of the good it can do and voice their strong support. ---------------------------------------------- HR 1603 Fairness in Firearm Testing Act.
