An election loss by Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe would spell doom for Democrats in the 2022 congressional midterms as well as the 2024 general election, warned Vice President Kamala Harris Friday evening. She spoke just days before McAuliffe suffered a crushing defeat, as she stressed the election’s crucial impact on “how the country is gonna move.” Harris’ warning was made last week as she joined McAuliffe campaigning at a “get out the vote” rally ahead of the Virginia governor election.

...."McAuliffe made several mistakes, unfortunately," his campaign volunteer said. "He allowed himself, rightly or wrongly, to be defined as anti-parent. Stuff like that does not sell in heavily suburban Virginia." He also said President Biden and Congress’ inability to pass their multitrillion-dollar spending bills dragged Democrats' favorability down nationwide, hurting McAuliffe as a result.

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) conceded to Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin (R) on Wednesday, hours after Youngkin declared victory. "Congratulations to Governor-Elect Glenn Youngkin on his victory," McAuliffe said in a statement. "I hope Virginians will join me in wishing the best to him and his family." Youngkin narrowly defeated McAuliffe by roughly 2 points on Tuesday. In the same statement, McAuliffe pushed for a number of the liberal initiatives he highlighted during the campaign. "While last night we came up short, I am proud that we spent this campaign fighting for the values we so deeply believe in. We...

VIRGINIA—Terry McAuliffe said he's completely confused that telling parents the state owns their children, that parents have no say over what their kids learn in school, and that repulsively disgusting pornographic books are good for kids didn't prove to be electorally popular. "It's so weird," a crestfallen McAuliffe told reporters. "We pulled out all the stops: we told parents that we own their children's minds, that they're wards of the state, and that their children should read horrific LGBTQ+ pornography in their school libraries, and it just didn't seem to connect with the people for some reason." McAuliffe also performed...

Jake Tapper (finally) had to announce in the early morning hours that McAuliffe lost to a white supremacist: “Youngkin pulling off a critical victory for his party in the highest-stakes election of the night. This is the first time Republicans have won an election for Virginia's top office in 12 years.” He went on, because he couldn’t believe it himself: “Again, CNN projecting Glenn Youngkin has been elected governor of Virginia. And Dana bash, this is the announcement that Joe Biden will not be happy to hear, and it also shows how incredibly divided this country is.” If the new...

Former President Donald Trump mockingly credited Democrat Terry McAuliffe with turning out “MAGA voters” in Virginia for Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin, who held a solid lead Tuesday with 85 percent of precincts reporting. McAuliffe and top backers, including President Biden, sought to make the vote about the Trump, who lost the state by 10 points last year. But the race was widely seen as a referendum on Biden’s performance. “It is looking like Terry McAuliffe’s campaign against a certain person named ‘Trump’ has very much helped Glenn Youngkin,” Trump said in an email blast.

Terry McAuliffe declined to concede defeat in the Virginia gubernatorial race Tuesday night, despite trailing Republican Glenn Youngkin by more than 100,000 votes with most precincts reported. “We still got a lot of votes to count, we got about 18 percent of the vote out, so we’re gonna continue to count the votes because every single Virginian deserves to have their vote counted,” McAuliffe told cheering supporters in the suburban outpost of Tysons Corner, Va. at around 10:20 p.m. Hours earlier, the former Virginia governor had tamped down expectations for his supporters in a brief, sober message.

Fairfax County is rescanning roughly 20,000 ballots from multiple early voting sites after there was a technical issue with a thumb drive the votes are stored on, according to Fairfax County's Office of Elections Public Information Officer, Brian Worthy. County officials said there is a paper trail of votes cast and staff are working on them as of now. Worthy told WUSA9 that the county had some problems with the thumb drive votes are recorded on. He said this thumb drive holds 20,000 ballots from four early voting sites. Rescanning the thousands of ballots from those early voting sites means...

Rush Limbaugh regularly called Terry McCauliffe "The Punk" for years. Did he ever say why?

Virginia Republicans win big based on promises to replace leftist brainwashing with pro-America education. With massive same day voting advantages, Republicans will be Virginia’s next governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general in a rebuke of Democrats, and specifically, their radically anti-American and racist education policies. Republican Glenn Youngkin sailed to victory by more than 10 percentage points when the race was called, beating McAuliffe by 55.1% to the loser Democrat’s 44.3% of the vote. Fringe candidate Princess Blanding received 0.7% of the vote. Youngkin largely sailed to victory based on Republican frustration with Critical Race Theory, LGBTQ pornographic materials, and...

@RandPaul I was proud to endorse @GlennYoungkin. His win tonight is a clear and much needed signal for personal freedom and that parents are the deciders of their children’s education and future.

"We’re going to win. I think we’re going to win in Virginia," Biden said at a press conference in Scotland, acknowledging it would be a close race between McAuliffe and Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin and would come down to voter turnout. The president also expressed confidence New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) would win re-election on Tuesday.

On the eve of the country's most highly anticipated election since the 2020 race for president, mainstream networks ABC, CBS and NBC avoided mentioning Virginia's gubernatorial showdown in their Monday night newscasts. According to Grabien transcripts, and first reported by NewsBusters, each of the networks ignored covering the tight race between former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Republican businessman Glenn Youngkin, opting instead to focus on topics that didn't spotlight electoral challenges for Democrats ABC spent the largest portion of its coverage on climate change, focusing at one point on Queen Elizabeth's call to action to address the issue. CBS...

Virginia gubernatorial candidate former Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) continued to evoke former President Donald Trump’s name on the eve of election day, saying it “would be great” to see him back on Twitter. McAuliffe told a CNN reporter that “from a political perspective” having Trump back on Twitter “would be great.” He added, “But, for the sake of the county, it is time to move on.” He noted that “fatigue and exhaustion from Trump” have been an issue for Democrats in the Virginia governor’s race.

Tomorrow (Today) is Election Day, an off-year election in the state of Virginia. Glenn Miller is an attorney from McLean, right across the river from Washington. Like most lawyers in the D.C. suburbs, he's a loyal Democrat. In 2016, he voted for Hillary Clinton. Last fall, he voted for Joe Biden. And yet, tomorrow he says he's voting for the Republican Glenn Youngkin in the Virginia governor's race. At a Youngkin rally over the weekend, he explained why. The tipping point, Miller told the New York Times, came one day as he was working from home and heard his teenage...

Terry McAuliffe has repeatedly and falsely called his gubernatorial opponent, Republican Glenn Youngkin, "anti-vax," but the former Virginia governor has raked in tens of thousands of dollars from a donor who funded an anti-vax effort, campaign finance records show. Albert Dwoskin, a real estate developer who bankrolled an institute that pushed anti-vaccine conspiracy theories, supplied the McAuliffe campaign with $53,400 worth of travel expenses in the form of in-kind contributions, or non-cash goods or services, Virginia campaign finance records show. Dwoskin also pushed $27,500 in cash to the campaign this cycle and sent $10,000 to McAuliffe's Common Good VA PAC...

Virginia’s Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe abruptly canceled his event in Virginia Beach the day before the election, sparking further speculation on the degree of behind the scenes panic within the McAuliffe campaign less than 24 hours before polls open. McAuliffe, who spent the weekend campaigning in Northern Virginia, and his Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin, who has been surging in the polls in the race’s final stretch, had events scheduled in Virginia Beach on Monday. However, a spokesperson for McAuliffe said the Democrat’s Hampton Roads event has since been canceled.
