The reason for my apology was that throughout this primary season we have been hearing about the record turnout of voters participating in Democrat caucuses and primaries. I bought the lie. The truth is that, except for Iowa and New Hampshire, there has not been any sort of record turnout for the Democrats. Even in New Hampshire the vote was far less than what the Republicans had when they last had a contested primary in 2000. The Democrats this year had 219,787 votes in their primary. The GOP in 2000 had 239,523 votes. That 20,000 difference is major in a...

http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/3/6/121052.shtml Well isn't this intresting. The "objective news media" supposed 9-11 surviors protesting Bush's ads are actually anti-war stooges financed by John Kerry's wife. Please take a moment and vist the New York Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC etc to email the Omsbudsman, the Publisher, the News Editor and demand to know why they allowed clearly partisan advocates of Kerry's Presidential Campaign were presented on their "News" programs with no reference to their ties to the Kerry camp. We absolutely must demand the "News Media" be held accountable for their free advertising for the Kerry camp.

http://www.georgewbush.com/tvads/ Here is a link to the 1st three Bush Re-election ads. As expected the DNC directed its "Objective News Media" mouthpieces at CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC to generate phoney hysteria about these ads. Compared to the demogagery and lies spread by the Kerry Campaign, Moveon.org and the DNC about Bush for the last 6 months, this is probably the mildest sets of ads that have run so far this political season. Please email this link to every person on you email contact list. We need to get as many people as possible to see these ads. They are...

I know I'm getting started late, but do any Maryland (or in fact any) FReepers have information and/or opinions on the candidates running on the GOP primary ballot on Tuesday, March 2? We have a Senate election this year, and Montogomery County (District 8) also needs a Republican to run against Van Hollen for the US House. Information on local candidates would also be appreciated.

Conservatives should write in Tom Tancredo in the primary ballot to demonstrate the depth of concern we have with the President. If enough do this, he will get the message.

Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. has blocked a high-level official in the Department of Transportation from taking a second job as a member of the House of Delegates. James F. Ports Jr., a former Republican delegate, had hoped to return to the House while keeping his $112,000-a-year job as an assistant secretary at the Department of Transportation. "I just don't think Bobby is comfortable with it," Ports said yesterday. "If he is not comfortable with it, I am not going to do it, and that is where it is going to stand." While the attorney general's office ruled Ports could...

Edwards was elected minority leader over Del. A. Wade Kach of Baltimore County at a caucus of GOP house members. The vote was taken by secret ballot, and Edwards would not discuss his margin of victory. He said, however, that the battle between him and Kach was good for the party. Del. Anthony O'Donnell of Calvert County was elected minority whip with Edwards, defeating Del. Adelaide Eckardt of Dorchester County,...

Analysis George W. Bush President George W. Bush continues to do very well indeed in Democratic-dominated Maryland, with a steady-as-she-goes 55% favorable rating (54% in January). Thirty percent of Maryland voters view him unfavorably, and 15% have a neutral opinion of Bush. Similarly, the President's job approval rating is, so far, rock solid in the Free State. Sixty-two percent approve of the job Bush is doing as president (63% in September 2002), and 31% disapprove, a two-to-one ratio. The remaining 7% offered no answer. Bush's numbers are certainly buoyed by huge figures among Republicans (91% approval), but he also does...

ANNAPOLIS -- Despite intense encouragement by some state and national Republicans, Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele will heed the wishes of Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. and not challenge U.S. Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski in next year's elections. "No, I will not run for the United States Senate in 2004," Steele told The Gazette on Thursday. "I have to help my governor." The governor's opposition and Steele's unwillingness to run deflate the hopes in some GOP circles that Maryland's first black lieutenant governor would take on the entrenched three-term senator from East Baltimore. But by nixing the idea, Ehrlich (R)...

Tuesday was a massacre for the democrats. They had no message and the polling was horrible. I have always been skeptical about polls and it appears that most of the pre-election polls were off. So why did the republicans do so well? George Bush deserves much of the credit, but let's not forget about the great candidates we had. 90% od our candidates were experienced and did well in their debates. The democrats did have a message. It was "no" to whatever being asked. The get nothing done senate was another reason. No bills and no judges were coming out...
