Towards the end of the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, the soldiers of the 506th Parachute Regiment, 101st Airborne, are sent to Hitler’s “Eagles Nest” retreat in the Bavarian Alps. There, Nazi leaders had a getaway resort where they could enjoy an opulent lifestyle away from the public eye. As depicted in the miniseries, this is where the real boys of the 101st found a treasure trove of war souvenirs, and this is where the story of our shotgun – engraved with the initials A.H. – begins. The shotgun This style of shotgun, known as a Drilling, is uniquely German....

I’ve reported at length before about various reasons to question the official government narrative surrounding the chaotic and violent incident that resulted in nine people shot to death and 18 wounded and 177 arrested outside the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas, on May 17. It all happened outside a planned meeting of a mostly political biker club coalition, the Confederation of Clubs and Independents. See here for the most recent, and here the most thorough, of that reporting. The gag order on people involved in defending the arrested, keeping information from flowing to the public on this controversy, was...

In civics and government books, “how a bill becomes law” shows multiple steps during which representatives consider bills before enactment. Unfortunately, such responsible deliberation, necessary to even a minimal prospect of legislation advancing the general welfare, is violated by “gut and amend” bills at the end of legislative sessions. As legislators race to pass bills under deadline, power brokers gut bills that have cleared most legislative hurdles, and replace them with completely different bills. Then, in the last-minute frenzy, they rush them through the last steps with minimal scrutiny (e.g., with multiple committee hearings in one room in an hour).

During open bowling, I have used Obama Sucks and other attacks on the community organizer from Kenya. But lately, it is time to go after Hillary. When you bowl, have some extra fun and put up a name to insult her or cause a conversation. I may have changed a guy's mind yesterday after he commented on the name and I educated him. On another note, it might be interesting for Trump to have "bowling night" fundraiser across the country and give a live speech broadcast at bowling alleys across the country. Then some bowling with Hillary pins. If the...

Has anyone from the Human Rights Campaign or GLAAD weighed in on the VA television station murders and denounced the violence? Did anyone hear any statements or press releases stating that we in the gay community condemn the violence and the killer does not represent our mainstream mainstream values and culture? Has the NAACP or members in the Black Lives Movement weighed in and denounced the violence and offered prayers and support for the victims? This is why you CANNOT compromise or make peace with leftists. After the Charleston shooting, Governor Haley should have told the Confederate flag critics to...

Understanding Anti-Government Protests in Brazil By Julio Severo Economic crisis produces protests. In Brazil, at least, the motivation behind protests has been, as reported by Reuters, “a sluggish economy, rising prices and corruption.” Sadly, the protests have not been against the abortion and homosexual agenda, whose government obsession to impose it should be a top priority in the concerns of a Christian people. In the early 1980s, Brazil had one of the biggest debts in the world and the commonest word in the Brazilian news was IMF (International Monetary Fund). Prices were skyrocketing. Inflation was the daily friend of...

Bishop Edir Macedo and Homosexuality By Julio Severo The official website of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) announced that its founder, Bishop Edir Macedo, has a stance different, in the homosexual issue, of the position of many evangelical leaders in Brazil. Bishop Edir Macedo According to the website, Macedo said, “God does not want nothing by force. And we in the Universal Church do not impose anything on anyone… There are many evangelicals, ministers and churches raising a flag against the homosexual movement and against homosexual marriage. I ask: would Jesus do it if He...

Guns have been around in one form or another for 800 years. Much has changed, but the firearms industry cannot be accused of being on the leading edge of technology. The 1911 handgun is still widely used and adored, as is the AR-15. The 1911 by its name alone tells you that it has passed the century mark, and the AR-15 is more than 50 years old. These are just two examples of the antiquated technology employed by most firearms industry manufacturers; but not all of them. THE BEGINNINGWhat happens when a newcomer to the industry combines tradition with cutting-edge...

With homosexual and transgender issues always at the forefront, whether we like it or not, it's a relief to know that now your kids will have a gender-fluid option for this coming Halloween: Halloween probably isn’t the best time to deal with an incredibly sensitive subject like gender reassignment. But that hasn’t deterred a major company from conjuring up a Caitlyn Jenner costume in time for Oct. 31. Spirit Halloween, the company behind the pop-up costume stores that appear all over the city every fall, has exclusively confirmed to Confidenti@l that it will be carrying the insensitive getup this year....

Reflections on the release of the HUD watchdog's report on wasteful public housing assistance... The watchdog for the Department of Housing and Urban Development released a report. Some 25,000 families, only about 3% of the system, depending on how you look at it, receive federal housing assistance despite having earnings well above the income limits required to qualify for such subsidies. Major publications on both sides of the argument – such as the Daily Caller on the right and the Washington Post on the left – immediately seized on the issue and rightly blasted it. How dare the government provide...

Sometimes government’s dishonesty, incompetence, wastefulness, and misguided nannyism combine to make a perfectly ridiculous story. Today’s comes to us from Florida, where the Ocheesee Creamery is being forced to dump gallons upon gallons of good, natural skim milk because the state is requiring the business to label its good, natural skim milk “imitation” because they haven’t added anything to it. Paul and Mary Lou Wesselhoeft have been fighting this in federal court with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, which had formerly allowed them to sell their skim milk while calling it skim milk. No one seemed confused...

Waco – When Cossack Motorcyle Club member Cody Ledbetter appeared a half-hour early for his examining trial before retired Visiting Judge James Morgan Monday afternoon, August 17, he was surprised to learn the issue of enough probable cause to bind him over for a Grand Jury appearance was already settled. Paul Looney, a seasoned defense attorney with offices in Houston and Hempstead, told him, “You lose the ankle bracelet, you lose the curfew, and you lose the travel restrictions.” That’s when Ledbetter and members of his family burst into tears. During the lunch hour, Looney and lead prosecutor Michael Jarrett...

Yesterday in Waco, a judge named James Morgan, ruled that there was probable cause to arrest William and Morgan English, a nice, young couple from Brenham, Texas, for engaging in organized criminal activity. The charge carries a penalty of five to 99 years in prison. The Englishes had attended a brunch sponsored by the Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents on May 17 at the Twin Peaks restaurant. Multiple, informed sources said Judge Morgan did not appear to be drunk. Morgan based his ruling on the testimony of a Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant named Steven Schwartz who indentified...

The last few weeks I've noticed a new fad or trend in the media and that's reporting on the 'dangers' of so-called drones (which are actually just RC helicopters). In each case there's been some sort of breathtaking disaster that *almost* happened or else a disaster was blamed on a drone. Like the fire in California that burned so fast it overtook traffic on an Interstate highway and a bunch of cars were burned. So the fire burned so fast that cars going 70mph couldn't get away but someone had the time to unpack, set up, and fly a drone...

Six Shooter Junction – Court observers and members of the community of motorcycle enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating a series of show-downs between prosecutors and defense lawyers over the evidence to be presented in the Twin Peaks shoot-em-up of May 17. One of the most cited legal scholars of our time, Professor Karl Llewellyn of Columbia and the University of Chicago, wrote in his seminal work, “The Bramble Bush,” that the legal realist takes a view that what judges, lawyers, and law enforcement officers “do about disputes is, to my mind, the law itself.” The 17 Twin Peaks cases set for...

Hello everyone, I would like to hear from the vast knowledge of Freepers about anyone who has had to have a dogs leg amputated and also if anyone has had their dog fitted with a prosthetic after. I have a senior female Great Dane that has to have her front leg amputated somewhere above her wrist. She has tumors that grow and have to be removed, and now they are embedded in her paw bones and are not able to be removed. Right after the last surgery 2 weeks ago, a new tumor grew out and won't allow the paw...
