Authorities in Colorado are searching for eight people who didn't leave their homes as a wildfire tore through a canyon in the foothills near Boulder. Sheriff's Cmdr. Rich Brough said Wednesday that 20 people were initially reported missing and 12 have been accounted for. It's unclear whether the remaining eight were in some of the 53 homes that have been reported destroyed. Authorities are following up with family members of the missing people and checking homes in the area. About 3,500 people have been evacuated from about 1,000 homes since the fire broke out Monday.

SAN FERNANDO, Mexico – Two cars exploded early Friday in a northern state where officials are investigating the killing of 72 Central and South American migrants, while a prosecutor investigating the massacre has disappeared. A friend of a friend has been missing since last Tuesday. Searchers with cadaver dogs searched the woods behind her home on Friday and Saturday with no results. According to Oregon State Police Sergeant Andy Kenyon, Isaac Benjamin Glenn from Veneta arrived at the state park with family friends earlier in the day and was reportedly playing with several other children near their campsite when one of the children noticed he was not around. Family friends assisted by several other campers and the park camp hosts immediately started searching around the park but were unable to find the boy. The sifting of more than 800 cubic yards (612 cubic meters) of debris recovered from ground zero and underneath roads around the lower Manhattan site began in April and ended Friday. The greatest number of remains – 37 – were found from material underneath West Street, a highway on the west side of ground zero. BREAKING NEWS: Abbey Sunderland has been found alive on her boat in the Indian Ocean. The signal from her boat was spotted by a chartered Airbus A330 aircraft. She was able to communicate with the aircraft via VHF radio. The boat is de-masted and unmaneuverable, but she has at least 30 days of food on board.
