Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem~Countdown to ExodusMoses Has His Arms Held Up This event has inspired many works of art over the centuries:1. An Old Engraving From a Prayer Book2. A Modern Interpretation from a Christian Website 3. An Oil Painting of the Event The Second Book of Moses, called EXODUS Chapter 17 17:8 Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. 17:9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand....

After reading some more Koran tonight, I had an epiphany. I realized that some of the worst parts of the Koran were similar to worst parts of the Christian Bible. I now believe many parts of both were misinterpreted. While I realize that Islam has been violent throughout its history, so has Judeism and Christianity (think Crusades). I'm not sure I believe in the 72 virgin promise, but I am starting to get Mohammed's believe in a better after-life. I need to read more. That said, our world has gone to shit. There can be a better place for those...

"Resolved, That Dr. Franklin, Mr. J. Adams and Mr. Jefferson, be a committee, to bring in a device for a seal for the United States of America." – July 4, 1776, Journals of Continental Congress For the design team, Congress chose three of the five men who were on the committee that drafted the Declaration of Independence. Although these distinguished committee members were among the ablest minds in the new nation, they had little knowledge of heraldry. To help convey their vision, they chose the artist Pierre Eugène Du Simitière to work with them.

The Meekness of Moses Text: Numbers 12:1-15  I.         If a little boy came up to and announced, “When I grow up, I want to be the meekest man on earth!†What would you think?            A.        Oh, intellectually we know that meekness is a good thing. It is one of the fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5:22-23             B.        But most of us have this image of a skinny, unassuming guy with a high pitched voice and a timid way of approaching people.            C.        You see it in the definitions of meekness                        1.         “Humble in spirit or manner; suggesting retiring mildness or even cowed submissiveness†                        2.         “Compliant: evidencing little spirit...

In the Old Testament tabernacle, a copy of the temple in heaven, the sanctuary was covered with curtains. To the left of the sanctuary entrance was a piece of equipment used to illuminate it, the gold lampstand. According to the pattern God gave Moses on Mt. Sinai, the shaft, branches, bowls, ornamental knobs and flowers of this lampstand were hammered from one gold piece. The center shaft was flanked by three branches decorated with almond blossoms on either side, all seven branches topped by little bowl-lamps containing olive oil. Inside the holy place (the sanctuary) but outside the curtain veiling...

We all know Moses story, but do we remember Gideon? No one gives much thought to Gideon, but the Lord has chosen him to save His people. Gideon reminds the Lord his family is the poorest and in his family he is the least thought of. Has God called you to a task? Are you feeling unqualified and unequipped? I recently came across...

Seeking Lord, Our God, with Our Heart and Being by Ari Bussel “And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers.” Deuteronomy 6:18 To Journey We Go How often do you read the Bible? Many of my Christian friends carry a well-annotated Bible with them at all times. Reference a verse, and they immediately flip through the pages to the correct citation. For the Jews, the Bible is...

Call him the new Moses -- Robert Moses, that is. Mayor Bloomberg says that since 9/11 he has tried to transform the city on a scale not seen since the days of the legendary and controversial master builder of highways, bridges and parks that changed the metropolitan landscape. "I think if you look we've done more in the last seven years than -- I don't know if it's fair to say more than Moses did -- but I hope history will show the things we did made a lot more sense," Bloomberg tells The New Yorker.

5,000 years ago, Moses said: “Park your camel, pick up your shovel, mount your ass, and I will lead you to the promised land.” 5,000 years later, Franklin D. Roosevelt said: “Lay down your shovel, sit on your ass, light up a Camel, THIS is the promised land.” Today, Barrack Hussein 0bama is stealing your shovel, selling your camel, kicking your ass, and telling you there IS no promised land. Thanks, mkjessup

Have you ever noticed that in every love relationship one party always seems to care more than the other? The one who loves most is patient and considerate, overlooking wrongs, forgiving, and always wanting the best for the object of his love. The most-interested sees his love in a hopeful light and longs for a closer relationship, even when the less-interested one pulls back. If there’s separation, the one more capable of love reaches out for reconciliation and, if rebuffed, waits anxiously for the other to return his affection. Almost unbelievably, in your relationship with Jesus he is the one...

What support is there for the claim that God spoke to all the Jewish people at the foot of Mount Sinai?Who did God give the Torah to at Mount Sinai? Most people reply, "God gave the Torah to Moses." And what were the Jewish people doing while Moses was receiving the Torah? "Worshipping the Golden Calf." Correct answers -- but NOT according to the Bible. The above answers come from Cecil B. DeMille's classic film, "The Ten Commandments." Amazing the impact one movie can have on the Jewish education of generations of Jews. It's a great film, but DeMille should...

Over 5,000 years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel , "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the promised land." Now Obama is going to steal your shovels, kick your asses, raise the price of camels, and mortgage the promised land.

Was the Sabbath kept before God gave the Ten Commandments? It is the purpose of this study to examine the records of Scripture and history to determine once and for all whether it is true that the Bible Sabbath was not observed between Adam and Moses, or whether the real truth is that there is considerable evidence of SabbathÂkeeping in the books of Genesis and Exodus before the giving of the Ten Commandments. In addition to Scripture, we shall call as witnesses many authors, men who were not at all biased in favor of the seventh day, but whose...

VATICAN CITY, 9 MAY 2009 (VIS) - Having celebrated a private Mass at the apostolic nunciature in the Jordanian capital of Amman, the Holy Father travelled by car to Mount Nebo. The mountain, 806 metres above sea level, is the site of the Basilica of the Memorial of Moses, a fourth century structure built over an earlier monument dating from the classical age.Since the year 1933 there has been a Franciscan monastery at Siyagha on Mount Nebo. It has areas in which faithful from the nearby city of Madaba can pray, and special buildings for archaeologists. The top of the...

A touch frustrated by reporters here in Istanbul questioning why more had not been achieved by Barack Obama during his eight-day European trip, David Axelrod, the president's closest aide, was moved to invoke Moses. "Why didn't the waters part, the sunshine, and all ills of the world disappear because President Obama came to Europe this week?" he asked before answering, to press chuckles: "That wasn't our expectation. That will take at least a few weeks." During the 2008 election campaign, John McCain mocked Obama by comparing him to Moses and calling him "the One", a self-appointed saviour of the world....

BEVERLY HILLS, California, April 7, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In his legendary film career he played saints, geniuses, prophets, soldiers and even the occasional bad guy, but in real life, Charlton Heston was a genuine hero for his defence of civil rights for blacks and for the unborn. His death on Saturday, at age 84, was met with an outpouring of admiration and tributes on the internet and television news and on countless blogs. Admirers lauded him as one of the last of the old-time Hollywood movie stars, and as a man who also embodied in his off-screen life the integrity,...

By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. Hebrews 11:24-26 Moses could have chosen the easier route of living in Egypt as royalty and lived quite comfortably all his days. He didn't choose the "path of least resistance," but he chose to...

By faith Moses' parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. Hebrews 11:23 In Exodus 6:20 we learn Moses' and Aaron's parents' names: Amram and Jochebed. It's probably the first you've heard the names. It's intriguing to me that the book of Hebrews doesn't mention them by name. But that also encourages me that out of the millions of lives in the world, we can remain faceless and God will still know our deeds and our faith. Secondly, those parents knew...

Barney Frank accused of cooking books for gay lover Herb MosesBy Angie Anthony on September 26th, 2008 Barney Frank, who is openly gay, had a past romantic relationship with Herb Moses, an executive for Fannie Mae. Barney Frank’s involvement was alleged to have persuaded him to cook the books (finance accounts) for Fannie Mae.
