THE federal Liberal-National coalition is likely to govern with a majority of at least 30 seats after a swing of just over three per cent against Labor. The ALP has become the first two-term federal government to be thrown out of office since Gough Whitlam's regime in 1975. Tony Abbott's coalition is on track to pick up 90 seats, with Labor holding 57, in the 150-seat parliament, but it won't have a majority in the Senate.

Does the modern bureaucratization of medicine risk a return to the horrors of national socialist medicine? NOVEMBER 01, 1993 by MARC S. MICOZZI M.D. Marc S. Micozzi, M.D., Ph.D., a physician and anthropologist, directs the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Washington, D.C., which recently brought from Berlin the exhibition, “The Value of the Human Being: Medicine in Germany 1918-1945,” curated by Christian Pross and Götz Aly. Today we are concerned about issues such as doctor-assisted suicide, abortion, the use of fetal tissue, genetic screening, birth control and sterilization, health-care rationing and the ethics of medical research on animals...

The parade of bad GOP candidates since Reagan has one thing in common: they were all rich men with no skin in the game, for whom victory was optional. The Bushes of Connecticut and Texas, the McCains of Arizona and the Romneys of all over the place had no downside to an electoral loss; they were all just as well-off as they were before the start of their campaigns, and could return to their multiple homes with no sense of personal loss, just a little chagrin at letting the team down. By contrast, the Democrats have fielded a succession of...

CHICAGO (AP) — It will make you stronger. It will give you peace of mind and make you feel like a winner. Health insurance is what the whole country has been talking about, so don’t be left out. Sound like a sales pitch? Get ready for a lot more. As President Barack Obama’s health care law moves from theory to reality in the coming months, its success may hinge on whether the best minds in advertising can reach one of the hardest-to-find parts of the population: people without health coverage. The campaign won’t come cheap: The total amount to be...

A federal judge in California ordered Google to comply with an FBI national security investigation after the search giant launched a protest against the bureau’s request. U.S. District Judge Susan Illston rejected Google’s petition to modify or throw out 19 national security letters (NSL) related to federal government investigations due to the broad nature of the petition, CNET reported Friday. “Her ruling came after a pair of top FBI officials, including an assistant director, submitted classified affidavits,” CNET reported, stating that Illston reserved judgement on two of the 19 letters and requested more information from the government. NSLs allow federal...

For those of you who always thought that Hillary was lying about everything, you’re about to be proven right. Moreover, the news is going to come from a very unexpected source: Hillary herself. The National Enquirer, which has stuck very close to honest reporting since getting burned in a long-ago libel suit, reports that Hillary has decided to stop the lies and tell the truth in an upcoming memoir. Simon & Schuster will pay her $25 million for writing the book, which she hopes will inoculate her 2016 presidential run against any future ugly revelations. According to the National Enquirer’s...

Appalling as the Benghazi, AP, and IRS scandals are, this dwarfs them all. This puts US national survival, and hundreds of millions of lives at stake. The head of Russia’s National Security Council has arrived in the US on a two-day visit for top-level talks on key stumbling blocks in bilateral relations. He will also deliver President Putin’s response to a letter President Obama sent in April. Putin aide Yury Ushakov confirmed on Tuesday that Patrushev is carrying the presidential letter and is scheduled to meet Obama. Among the US officials Nikolay Patrushev will meet during his trip is National...

Steve Emerson just broke the shocking news that the Saudi National, Abdul al-Harbi, first questioned in the Boston bombing, is going to be deported on "national security grounds." He is from a very powerful Saudi family with many terrorist ties. Abdul al-Harbi is a devout Muslim from Medina. I said it takes longer than 15 hours to investigate all of Abdul al-Harbi's relatives, friends, acquaintances, and business and school friends. Perhaps a quick look at the Arabic sources should raise the eyebrows of every American relative to the extent of the problem at hand. Many from Al-Harbi’s clan are steeped...

Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, The Post has learned. Law enforcement sources said the 20-year-old suspect was under guard at an undisclosed Boston hospital. It was not immediately clear why the man was hospitalized and whether he was injured in the attack or in his apprehension. The man was caught less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing on the finish line of the race, in the heart of Boston. 12 DEAD, 50 INJURED AFTER 2 EXPLOSIONS ROCK BOSTON MARATHON NY AUTHORITIES RAMP UP SECURITY AFTER BOSTON EXPLOSIONS...

Spendaholic Hussein Obama has conned the Left-Wing Congressional RINOS into believing that increasing taxes and agreeing to a smaller rate of increased Federal Spending is "Fair." Hence, we have "sequestration" which will reduce the rate of increase in increased Federal spending by 2.4 % which will be restored by the 2.8 % increase in worker payroll taxation, and an increased tax burden on those who pay the worker payrolls. Will Sobber-of-The-House Boehner, Can't-Do Cantor, or Romney-RINO Ryan call out Obama's "Balanced Approach" as nothing more than the failed "Tax and Spend" policy that got the National Debt in trouble in...

National Debt Is Still the Biggest Threat to Our National SecurityDr. Ileana Johnson Paugh Friday, November 30, 2012 “An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily a power to destroy, because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation.” – John Marshall Americans are in denial about the simple fact that our national debt is the biggest threat to our national security. National debt grew exponentially from Washington’s profligate deficit spending, recessions, and wars. **SNIP** Our national debt has exploded in the last four years. During President Obama’s first three years in office, it grew...

BUDAPEST, Hungary -- A Hungarian far-right politician urged the government to draw up a list of Jews who pose a "national security risk", stirring outrage among Jewish leaders who saw echoes of fascist policies that led to the Holocaust. Marton Gyongyosi, a leader of Hungary´s third-strongest political party Jobbik, said the list was necessary because of heightened tensions following the brief conflict in Gaza and should include members of parliament.

EL AL Airlines. Israel’s nation airline, will no longer provide flights to Cairo. The number of Israelis flying to Cairo has greatly decreased and EL AL Airlines will no longer be flying almost-empty airplanes to Cairo. The StarTribune also reported on September 16 that the rising operating costs and the necessary security is making it almost impossible to finance the flights to Cairo. With the number of Israelis that travel to Cairo dropping, it is not fiscally feasible to keep the flights going.
